I can't see it anywhere in GT, although it would help if I knew it's name....
that's 240RS from Nissan

You know what I'm going to use to play GT4?

A Sony Playstation DualShock 2 Controller...

Do you guys seriously think spending $100 on a wheel is really worth it?

Maybe, I'd have to take it on a test run.

Does it really enhance the experience/fun that much?

Only problem is, I searched my entire house, and have NOTHING to mount it on to...

Well... I've passed GT1, GT2 & GT3 with the Dual Shock, so I've never used a wheel in my whole life...

... I thought about it, I bought it, I tried it...

... And it's the best ****ing experience with a racing game... even GT3 isn't GT3 without a wheel, so imagine with GT4... I only have GT4 BMW edition, and today I've ran about 8 laps in Nürburgring with the BMW 120d. 8 laps. Alone. Just for fun. And try it with manual gears, DSC off and ROAD tyres and you'll be in heaven, searching the best wheel degree in every curve... hum...

I'm gonna run another 2 laps in Nurburgring just now :dopey:

PD: In Spain, the DFP costs 140€ (about 165$). So reconsider it, you're all lucky :sly:

It really is worth the cash if you like racing games at all.

Brings a whole element to the experience. Brought me right into the game. The wheel is currently about 2 feet from the 30" widescreen. so it is almost like being in the car visually. i am currently working on a little cockpit setup, but now i use a TV tray & an office chair. simple but effective.

when i first got it, it was a little of a learning curve. after 6 years of driving with a handheld controller, it was something new. i tried an off brand wheel a few years ago & it was bad so i didn't think much of them either.
got the DFP & after having adjusted to it, i am now blistering all my old records.
i am also fooling around with drifting a little. it is way way easier to control the car with the wheel than a controller.

I'm planning to buy the Logitech wheel... only after purchase I'll see if spending 100$ on a wheel was really worth it

I wish to see the Genki HKS Silvia from outside so I can see if it really looks realistic :)

the guy in the video is using the old driving force, right? Im wondering how hard it is in GT4 to spin the wheel lock to lock while drifting (if you use max lock drifting). In live for speed, its pretty damn hard. didnt impressme too much cus he wasnt using 900 mode... :sly: its still great to see some gt4 drifting though.

What video?

anyone know if there is an english version of the overdrift website?? the site seems very interesting except that i don't know japanese (unfortunately)

i dont think it is, because the wheel would rotate more than 90 degrees to the right, and more than 90 degrees to the left. I know cus i've seen another drift vid where the guy was using 900. unless there is an option to turn it off.... If it is 900 mode, thats great. but i doubt it iz. since the virtual wheel in the center of the screen only moves 180 (200) degrees

DDDDAAAAAAMMMNNNN!!!!!! I finally downloaded those vids. **** I WANT THAT ****ING GAME TTTTOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm definatly,definatly,definatly,DEFINATLY going to buy that DFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Sorry if I'm a bit overreacting but........ I never saw, never could, and really never knew what drifting was all about!! DAMN I'm stupid :) :)

Man that drift was awesome! amazing how he held it together through that long right hander before going under the bridge at Mid-field. Damn I got a long way to go before im that good.

Q.Who knows how hard it is to drift with a normal PS2 controller?

A. EXTREMELY!!!

I tried to do some drift with my 900 degree wheel last night.
It was SOOO hard.
I used a S15 with stage 3 turbo (i feel the turbo lag is a bit high, may be i need to swap a stage 2). The car is so hard to control, I don't know how they can keep their throttle on during the whole corner, my car either understeers and go straight to the corner or slide too much and end up did a 180.

I know if i change the wheel to 200 degree, it may be easier, but i like to learn from the hard way. So i will keep trying

na... deffinatly 200 mode. there is no way in hell they can spin the wheel lock to lock that fast. in 900 mode :dopey: and if it was with ds2, he woulda been max locking more, and not as smooth

But another video, they are using 900 mode

from my drift experience, I let go the wheel while I want to countersteer
but I still touch the wheel slightly to get control of the wheel while I need it
so what I am trying to say is ... the wheel steers itself

Just been jinin around and went to arcade mode, choose the Skyline '73 2000 GTR, in quick tune went N1 tyres on rear and N3 tyres on front and set max power min weight. The thing drifts like a dream. I'm not the greatest drifter but I found I could hold long spectacular drifts quite well. Try something like this guys, you'll have a ball. 👍

u can tell the guy who is using 900 because it says it in the beginning, plus his drifts are less aggressive. Cus max locking is a b*tch.

Well in GT3 it isn't THAT hard, but difficult. In GT4...........well I don't have a clue cause I'll have the DFP by then :) :) 👍👍

gt3 drifting was easy, slap on some sims and your ready to go, on this, lol, its all about skills, which is why i suck, lol :yuck:

Then I must definatly NOT try to drift in GT4 with a Dual Shock and Automatic, caus it will kill me :)
