Ok. 414 rims converted now. Had a few rims with the same names, so we're missing around 8 I think. I'll get kickin on the rim/image codes from the bottom up.

ok, I managed to move everything but now my windows XP won't boot anymore :dunce:
I remember reading about this before, let's hope google knows what to do

I just ghosted the old disk into the new one and looks like XP messed up the partitions somehow. Nevermind anymore though, I got it running already :)

Rims with the same names?! oeeh :dunce:
I'll start from the top then, let's see what to do with the duplicate names

Sent ya a PM^

I used the names that where on the images. I started from the bottom and everything lined up till I got to Toyota. I'm like 10 rims(images)short :/

Your download is not working :(

I'll try and get that working for ya.

Could you give me an extract from your list? I think I'll do some checking, I smell something fishy

I did it in alphabetical order in reverse. Seemed to line up till I got to yota :/

I don't get it, there's no rim in my screen captures that matches toyt0019, nor there's a capture of a rim with the name TO0220.
Looks like there are far more rims available than I've got screenshots taken of because only 424 rims can be bought normally

This is gonna take much longer than I anticipated

TO0220

That's how the I know they're toyota rims. The VW rims make the most sense. Does the used rim cycle recycle after 28 days?

EX: day 1 is the same as day 29?

No, they cycle after 29 days, the last one has only four wheels.
Also I found out how what does that magical number "1" mean, "Used wheels" have 000100xx, branded new ones 000000xx

Looks like the brand rims have unused/hidden ones too :)
For example the game offers you only 48 Enkei rims, but actually 50 rims exist in the game code

Hmmmm... I get it. Oh god this is getting complicated. I don't know where to go from here. Do you? lol

I kinda figured out how to do it :)
I'll do the whole list eventually but it will take a couple days more regardless I'm doing it pretty quickly

update: Rims starting with letter A-D are done, I'll screen capture the unused rims later when I've got the whole list ready

PERFECT! :)

Brilliant! On the day zero, "Today's special" rims section doesn't have any rims available, which means I can screen capture the missing rims in the same quality as the other ones :)

Also found out what are those duplicate names, they're nothing more than typos made by polyphony digital.
for example there are two rims named HO0218 in the game but the other one should be HO0210 (the one that's named HO0218.gif in your set)

teknogeek, I want to know the names of all rims which have duplicate names so I don't have to verify every single rim

update: Rims A-M done including the brand new ones

Ok. Here we go:

Those all have duplicates(2 to be exact). I've caught myself making typo's when naming the images, so if one doesn't match up correctly, that could be why.

You don't need to convert them all again, I believe I got them sorted out now
I noticed your typos and fixed them up so that's not a problem. :)

Weird thing is I found only four duplicates:
HO0218
SU0236
SU0233
OP0212

I converted the missing ones as well and i'll post them up later, maybe including the hidden ones too if capturing them doesn't turn out to be too slow and complicated

I compared your gifs to my original screen captures and sorted the files into 29 folders representing each day, and this is what I got:

Day27
Day28	AU0221 (filename AU0211.gif)
Day29	HO0247	SU0234	VW0197	PE0227 (all missing)
"missing" means your set didn't have a gif of it

Letters A-S done so far, I'm trying to find out at the same time which cars the "hidden" rims are from but I'm getting really confused, if someone figures out what car maker is "rov10001" please tell me

Also what's the deal with rims which appear on some cars but aren't in the code list?
Surely there must be a way to use them without putting the original body (?) in, I don't believe they are hard-coded

Can you list the car name so I can check it?
I've got only couple names I'm sure of, listing them is the next big job I'm planning to do.

Maybe it would be easier if i just complete my list of cars which have their rims available in the used rims shop. Then we'd just find out what's going on with the cars which don't have their rims in the rim code list on your website. or something :boggled:

Code:
20A1F8C0 00010252	/slby0002 Setup A	SL0221	Day 20	Shelby Mustang G.T. 350R '65
For example shelby has only one rim in the list but there are three shelby cars in the game, you could start with them if you want
Code:
Shelby	Cobra 427 1967
Shelby	Mustang G.T. 350R	1965
Shelby	Series 1 Super Charged	2003

Little info I found about garage data, NTSC offset
Code:
00A17AB0	Garage start 4 bytes
00A17AB8	Day counter 4 bytes, 256FD6 = day 1, days 0 and below are possible
00A17AC8	1st car: ID 2 bytes, the same car ID as in Setup a/b/c, invalid ID gives you blank car displaying "0" as its make year
00A17AD0	Garage color ID 1 byte, invalid color ID makes the car disappear
00A17AD1	unknown ID 3 bytes, invalid ID makes the car disappear from the garage(?), write only on the current car?
00A17AD8	Day of purchase 2 bytes? The day you purchased the car in hex
00A17ADC	Mileage 4 bytes, write only?
00A17AE0	Ride history 2 bytes, 0 - 3FE (1-1023), 3FF = never ridden
00A17AE8	2nd car: ID

Ok, I don't realize that matching rims is a very hard work, good work so far 👍.

Ok.

Interesting info 👍. Can we change car color in garage list by changing 00A17AD0 value?

Yes :) it changes the garage color of the car you bought first.
I don't know how the color values work, I haven't tested them properly yet but at least values 07, 0B, 0F, 11, 13 and 1B work in those three cars I've got.
Note that those are all odd values, even values don't seem to work

sucahyo: how did you get the names of the different part values from the game, did you use ps2dis or similar?
I think I have to learn how to use those programs..

edit:
Looks like there is a reason why some rims have the same names..
Because there are car makers simply with the same initial letters, for example Subaru and Suzuki, and the ordinal numbers happen to overlap
I'll just rename those rims in some way so there won't be problems with file names

teknogeek: The rim list is ready now and I'm posting it a little later, how does your program react if there's entries like these in the list?
Code:
20A1F8C0 00010313	/bntl0001 Setup A	BN0225
20A1FA38 00010313	/bntl0001 Setup B	BN0225
20A1FBB0 00010313	/bntl0001 Setup C	BN0225

20A1F8C0 00000028	/brdg001w Setup A	BRIDGESTONE 001
20A1FA38 00000028	/brdg001w Setup B	BRIDGESTONE 001
20A1FBB0 00000028	/brdg001w Setup C	BRIDGESTONE 001

20A1F8C0 0001002D	/suzk0003 Setup A	SU0232
20A1FA38 0001002D	/suzk0003 Setup B	SU0232
20A1FBB0 0001002D	/suzk0003 Setup C	SU0232

20A1F8C0 00010116	/suzk0004 Setup A	SU0233B
20A1FA38 00010116	/suzk0004 Setup B	SU0233B
20A1FBB0 00010116	/suzk0004 Setup C	SU0233B

20A1F8C0 000101C0	/suzk0007 Setup A	SU0236B
20A1FA38 000101C0	/suzk0007 Setup B	SU0236B
20A1FBB0 000101C0	/suzk0007 Setup C	SU0236B
I'm planning next to make gifs out of both the tuner wheels and the "hidden" wheels, which I'll be marking with letter H in their names, i.e. TO0296H

Someone sent me file extracted from GT4.vol. After I figure out what it means, I create an extractor. I only able to learn how to extract half of the information, there still more to do, but I don't have time and PS2.
