teknogeek: The rim list is ready now and I'm posting it a little later, how does your program react if there's entries like these in the list?

I'm planning next to make gifs out of both the tuner wheels and the "hidden" wheels, which I'll be marking with letter H in their names, i.e. TO0296H

I believe it will error unless we have the correct images. Once we get teh images then it should work great. I'll have an update on soon.

Found out that if you sell a car, the game just sets the car's garage color ID to an "invalid" value so it doesn't appear in your garage
If you want to get a car you just sold back, just add 1 to the color value :)

noobie...and would like to request a hybrid....if you dont mind.....couldnt do it my self....had problems with getting hybrids to work on pal version and couldnt get ntsc version to run on pcsx2.....if anyone could help me....i would like to put the a motor from a nissan silvia s15 spec r w/ transmission into a 69 nissan bluebird 1600 (510) maybe with some bigger wheels like 17".....preferably in the ntsc version...thankyou......dying to do that hybrid....

ok, I'll do it in a minute.
Is a .max save ok? NTSC of course

I got it some 215/45 R17 tires but they look really big
I'll just put it together first without trying to perfect it and do a better looking one later if you want :)
I'm just going to try it out now if it works on the PS2, will take a moment

Also if you want to choose the color here are the options:

Jamaican beige metallic
Iceland gray metallic
Tahitian blue metallic
Sicilian olive green metallic
Supanish red
Californian yellow
Alaskan white

ok found some...those will do fine...thanx

Allright, got it working somehow but it's really weird.
If you change the tires in any setup you'll lose all custom rims for the car :dunce:
didn't get the gearbox working yet, I'll see if i can fix it quickly and post the save after that :)

Forgot to tell more about the save..
Setup A has the alaskan white one with big tires
Setup B has the original N1 tires for comparison and blue color
Setup C has reversed gears, 4th gear is the shortest and 1st the longest :D

There's also another car in the save which has N1 tires on the front and snow tires on the back and probably something else i don't remember

Also it seems like you can't even change your setup from one to another without losing the custom rims.. Gotta do some investigating on this

👍 :).

Maybe it link to some location in garage file?

Figured out something about the "Turbo whistle" code
it actually seems to be something like Turbo ID and it changes your power/torque curves, not just the power output.
Each car with turbo upgrades has their own turbo ID for every turbo kit

.. At least it seems to work like that but I'm not sure anymore, I'll post more when I've find out enough

That's sweet!

take a look at these, I captured some pics of the different curves available.
the files are named after their corresponding turbo ID code (reversed value), so if you want to get any specific one you know how to get it

http://files.filefront.com/engine+curveszip/;9036998;/fileinfo.html

I don't have time right now to test any of them if they actually give you those torque curves, but I'm pretty positive they will :)

That's awesome! I smell another feature in the app!

There's actually two of these "Turbo ID" values, they're both 3 bytes and the second one is right after the first one.
You can mix and match them freely, the game gives you default engine curve if you input invalid values.

At first I hoped those values were used in some kind of formula how the game calculates your engine curve but it doesn't seem to be like that. They're just some sort of ID's, pointers to the actual data. Some values change the curve and some don't, but the two values aren't tied too tight together

Has anyone been experimenting how the rims work?
I mean for example, if you buy some aftermarket rims, then change them on one setup with a PHaste code, and after that, change the setup to another one, you lose the rims you just put in with the code and they revert to the rims you bought (or to the standard ones if you didn't buy any)
Even if you equip every single setup with the same rim code they will revert to previous ones..

I didn't find any other locations which change when you buy rims, so what's going on here, does anyone know? :)

edit:
I think I found it.. There is a memory location which holds the value for rims that are equipped by default :grumpy:

PAL: 00A2AA38 - 3F
NTSC: 00A1FC38 - 3F
NTSC2: 00A18CB8 - BF

Also found out the location having the info which setup is currently in use
PAL: 00A2AA58
NTSC: 00A1FC58
NTSC2: 00A18CD8

1-byte, 0=A, 1=B, 2=C

Hmmm. I noticed that my rims don't like to stay on if I change compound(same class). Is that because I haven't actually purchased a set in game?
