I think the mystery track is the new High Speed Ring.... it is definitely in, and it definitely had banked corners in GT2... def. NOT Nurburgring or Suzuka...

Can you even think of that this is a game!?
Look at the mountain!

dont forget that this is photo mode peeps
also keep in mind though that everyone who's seen it live says it smokes GT3, even from the early builds, and 3 was pretty graphically impressive for the PS2.

That screen with the Woodone Supra was already disscused on page 11 guys!!

Im pretty sure that is High Speed Ring!
How can you be so sure?

Surprisingly, on page 11 you were the only one who said that it was the High Speed Ring... ;)

I do think that that banked corner could well be the first corner in HSR, but the scenery is so different that makes me believe it's not.

The background is not new, its Nanzenji, previously seen with the TVR, its just from a different angle of the scene.

Edit: just noticed how rough the rims look :yuck:

So what if those are photomode, the ones that are pre-race aren't that advanced compared to the ingame quality. Now the one with the photomode local is something the ps2 couldn't do. Those pre-race pics are just high-res, the textures are the same as the ingame quality; the pics are just big as hell to hide the jaggies, jaggies ofcourse will be seen ingame whilst playing. But those lovely textures you all see and the photorealistic look will be present while you are playing the game. The game will ofcourse look more realistic in motion. I want to see the Seca in motion with all those lovely LMP cars and group c cars.

Test Course??

561066_20041001_screen010.jpg

Is this the new Laguna?

561066_20041001_screen006.jpg

Anyone know where this is?
Is it the Crossover at Suzuka?
Or is there a bridge at the Nurburgring?

C.
The crossover at Suzuka is actually pretty plain and, to my knowledge, there are no bridges near gandstands at the Nurburgring, so it's got to be somewhere else. I think that the first and third pictures are of the 'new' Super Speedway - Motegi Twin Ring Oval. I think that third shot is of the bridge over the road course. I'm pretty sure of it because I watched the MotoGP from Motegi the other week and the scenery looks really similar.

And I'd say number two is definately Laguna Seca what with that corner that looks suspiciously like the exut of the Corkscrew.

It could be the angle combined with the amount of sunshine, but that R390 looks awfully dirty...

Hey, I just noticed that too. The No#32 on the side seems to fade away at the bottom into the dirt....could it be true???? I hope we really haveto use the wash.

Yeah, but the angle of the shot tricked me too to begin with. At first I thought it was some other track because the angle makes it appear as if one bend flows on from the next, whereas those of us who have played Laguna know there's a straight between the Corkscrew and the next left (where car 32 is).

Then again, it's a stronger case for the car being dirty than the car being clean, so I'm hoping that the cars really do get dirty instead of this 'dull colour' effect from previous games.

Anyone know what the car is that's in 3rd in that shot?
It looks like it's a BMW Le Mans car... but I didn't think that they did one?!

On the dirt... I'm unsure... it might just be the angle & the sun... it's difficult to say!!

C.

The 1st and 3rd screenshot on the previous page are from the High Speed Ring.If it was from the Super Speedway why would the cars go to the left side of the track? On the High Speed Ring it would be logical to go the the left side because the next corner goes to the right.

Concerning the dirt on the cars,i really hope they include that aswell.Looking at the picture one might think that that is actually dirt but i think it's just the angle the screenshot has been taken from that is causing that effect.

BMW V12 LMR (Le Mans Racer??) 1999. Driven by Yannick Dalmas, Jochaim Winklehock and P. Martini and won. You may not remember it because the race was overshadowed by a 400km/h (?) accident ...

It's remembered as the year that Mark Webber (the F1 driver?) did this:

CLRflip5.jpg

The infamous Mercedes Backflip at the Mulsanne corner. Fortunately, no-one was hurt in the accident. Although the driver's ego may have taken a beating.

The pictures are from mulsannecorner.com

It wasn't just one Do you race, Webber did it first, then the next day, one of his team mates flipped as well, but he (forget name sorry) went INTO the trees!!!.

Mercedes Benz then pulled the remaining car(s?) from the race for 'safety concerns' then sat down and tried to figure out what the .... went wrong...

BTW, while it was at over 200mph, it wasn't quite 400km/h (250mph), but I supposed the exaggeration was to add effect to flipping a car, I mean it's not like flipping a car a 'normal' speeds is a big deal... ;)

I wonder ... if PD end up putting Le Mans into GT4, since there's already the 1999 Mecedes Le Mans car in the game can we actually flip the car like this?! And if we can't because rolling cars won't be a part of GT, what will happen when we hit the Mulsanne at 400km/h?

But I digress, I have no real point.

But car 15 in the Laguna Seca screenshot is definately the 1999 BMW V12 LMR.

If it was dirt, there would be no highlight on the air scoop and the "32" would be half covered. Plus, I think the nose would look different.

Cheers,
