Good scenario: I buy one in a few days. PS2s are fairly common so finding one shouldn't be too hard. Bad scenario: I buy one in a couple weeks because of money reasons.

Quick question. Can I use the AV cord from the PS3 to use on my PS2? If I can do that then maybe I'll be back in this in no time.
I don't have PS3 so I can't help you there.

But we'll wait for you. In next few days if you notice you're having problems with money you can always inform us. If that happens we'll see what next.

I had troubles mostly on Swiss Alps. On high-speed circuits like this one mistakes break your consistency easily.

Current submissions: 3 of 4.

Sorry guys. I'm out. Officially this time. I can't find my PS3 which means I can't figure out if my AV cord would work with my PS2. Money is also tight so I won't be getting one anytime soon.

I'm very sorry to hear this. Should we continue without you then ?

Target laps for Round 3 are:

Citta De Aria - 1 & 3
Swiss Alps Reverse - 2 & 3
Chatedral Rocks I - 2 & 3

I'm going to post results soon. Watch this post for edits.

EDIT:

The Round 3 results have been published. The Round 4 is open now.

Congratulation to Harsk100 for another great consistency with RUF BTR !

And DurWinning Good Luck ! I'm sorry it ended this way. :(

Thought I would post my round 1 Ice Arena, no one has asked to see it, which is nice but here it is anyway. It's also the best / most consistent I've driven IMO.

Sorry about the crappy sound, don't know what that clicking / beeping sound is.

Sorry to hear you had to drop out @DurWinning.

Thanks. Let's see what round 4 has to offer! 👍 Looking forward to do the round 4 tommorrow.

One last thing before I go. Once an AV cord is found and if their is a reset (i.e a fresh start) I shall return in full force (and probably put up terrible times again).

Good driving Shotamagee, the car seems to have decent grip albeit you should have picked better color. ;)

Maybe you guys will be interested in post #136, I did some little research there.

Re: post 136, Little 4wd is quicker than muscle car Rwd on tight rally courses; not that surprising.
Edit: See the results from this week for proof.

Re: car colour I have as much colour variation as possible in my garage (I try to avoid black & white where I can) also what's wrong with green, I doubt I'd have it in real life, looks good in game though IMO.

Edit2:
Also I checked Harsk's claim that ASM/TCS don't work on dirt, appears he's right.
I didn't notice any difference, and even with it on the TCS/ASM gauge's on screen don't light up at all. I checked this on Swiss alps (dirt), but I assume it is the same for snow.

Conclusion; for this comp it doesn't matter whether they're on or off, as it only seems to affect road courses & and for them the settings are optional. That said, it's easier just to turn them off per the rules & it's more enjoyable too.

Gran Turismo 4 is based strictly on racing circuits where small and light cars can't use their merits effectively. Ice Arena is the only track where such scenarios are possible and that is why it is interesting to me. Even on Motorland or Beginner's Course only Cappuccino may be able to keep up with high-powered machines. Ice Arena may become may favourite track, lol.

Green is very tricky color, only right shades will work on cars. For instance light shades on Peugeot 206 S16 and BMW 2002 Turbo or British Racing Green on some of the British cars. On the Lancer I would definetly take the Blue or the Red. :)

And yes, driving assist do not work on dirt & snow surfaces but you may activate them on tarmac if you want.

My lap times have been submited. Used a Toyota Corolla Rally Car, completly stock, no settings were made, just the required tyres were fitted on this car. 👍

So, with this, 1 of 3 times are submitted.

Yeah Ice arena is probably the best for this but I reckon Chamonix & Grand Canyon are pretty good as well, just because they are so tight, the smaller the car the more room you have to maneuver. Motorland to some degree, but probably only if the race is long enough for tyre wear to be a factor.

Re: colour I mostly agree, but I look at my garage as a whole, and try to keep as much variety as possible, which means some cars may not even be the colour's I'd choose first, so prepare for more funny coloured cars if I show more replays.

Make that 2 of 3. I have completed the round as well with Escort. Hopefully this round I'll have more luck with target laps.
And how predictable of you to pick Corolla. :P

I have tested both Corolla and Celica (ST205) in both GT3 and GT4 and I can say that Corolla is much better car as it is more agile on corners and the engine has more pep. Still, both are sleepy in relation to some other cars in the group.

Unless you have a friend to race against in 2P Mode, Polyphony Digital Cup at Motorland is the best race on where you can test abilities of small cars.

Ok peoples, times in.

The Impreza's not so great on tarmac, even with the LSD & VCD at the most aggressive settings it still under steers a fair bit. Much more at home on gravel and snow, even though I think it's a bit overpowered for Ice Arena.
I think I just prefer driving road cars over race cars in general, but this week was still fun.

Target laps for Round 4 are:

Costa Di Amafi Reverse - 1 & 2
Ice Arena Reverse - 2 & 3
Tahiti Maze Reverse - 1 & 3

I'm going to open the submissions and post results as soon as possible. Watch this post for edits.

EDIT:

The Round 4 results have been pronounced. Final round is now open.

Congratulations to Shotamagee for preserving the lead.

2 of 3 times were submitted, I guess... :sly:

Not this time I'm afraid, I haven't even started testing all the cars. :)

But I'll probably go with the Starion. And I forgot to remove the 206 from the list, so it is fixed now.

Current submissions: 1 of 3

I've done 2 of 3 with the Stratos, hopefully last one tonight. I'm actually sort of glad this is the final round as with xmas, holidays & new years coming up I'd have been be hard pressed to do any ensuing rounds before 2016 starts.
