GT4 vs Forza [Let the battle begin]

In your last post I think you draw to the conclusion that GT and Forza will turn into the next Sonic & Mario...

Mario the old stager was almost upset by Sonic the young upstart... but in the end Mario beat down Sonic with his fat ass!!

Sonic was always faster and probs had better gfx... But Mario had the gameplay and the depth...

In this instance... GT=Mario -> Sonic=Forza...

Will history be rewritten this time?

Well, it could be something like that... :) But (sorry but I'm feeling a bit pessimistic) I doubt Forza will get as much success as PGR, let alone Sonic :boggled:

Lets see, Sonic has:
- better controls
- better handling
- better crash effects
- realistically spinning rings
- better 2D games - better graphics
- photorealistic graphics
- better sensation of speed
- cooler cast
- loops to run thru at high speed
- casino levels for hot pinball action
- better music
- better bonus levels
- chance to turn into Super Sonic
- chance to turn into Hyper Sonic
- 2 player mode where Tails can carry yu0 up to some places
- SEGA logo
etc etc etc (basing this on 2D games only)

Mario has:
- fatass plumber
- better 3D games
- lame cast
- slow gameplay
- cartoony graphics (compared to Sonic's photorealistics)
- geared towards teh slower ppl who can't handle Sonic's ultra high sensation of speed
- castles

in conclusion:
GT & Sonic >>> Mario & Forza

and this ultimate ownage video i posted shows pretty much who is fatass plumber and who is cool Sonic!
 
Yeah but Mario had classic music too... I quite often end up whistling Mario tunes... and Zelda tunes for that matter!!!

Super Mario World blatantly whipped Sonic 3 into easy submission...

And Mario 64 rules over any Sonic game ever made...

btw is Sonic just another "Road Kill" these days, I haven't seen him around.
Although I thought I passed him on the M3 the other day, he didn't look too well.

Its not such a thread hijack Yeti, because mentioning those two superstars Mario and Sonic reminds us all what games are really all about.
You don't need amazing graphics and super realistic physics to sell a game. You need a Blue Hedgehog or a Fat Plumber with a moustache :lol: Or more importantly, a loyal fan base.

Mario Bros is one of the biggest selling franchises of all time. One of the Mario games on the NES IS the biggest selling console game of all time. It sold nearly 30million units on its own :crazy:

Who ever said anything about crash damage not affecting performance. Certainly not me. My point was that the best Forza, or GT4 could do if they implemented crash damage was some generic crash model as seen in Burnout or various rally games.

My original point, all that time ago, was that the GT series has built up such a huge fanbase because it taps into the car enthusiast community. A one track demo of the Nordshleife with a Nissan R89C appeals to me more than engine swaps, paint chips, oils slicks etc.

If Forza pulls something out of the bag such as allowing you to race a Ferrari 312 at the Targa Floria or a Porshe 917K at Watkins Glen, then I will sit up and take notice.

If all it can offers is Ferrari 360s and supped up Honda Civics at the likes of Laguna Seca etc. then it holds little interest to me.

I'm a car enthusiat first, a gamer second. A simulation version of NFSU holds little, to no interest to me.

Responding to well thought out points as 'crap' and 'idiotic' says it all really.

Going back on topic. This Forza v.s GT4 battle is pointless. Most of you(not all) don't own a Xbox.

Also, even if Forza is successful, and gets high marks, most of the GT fans(not all) will not give it the resepct it deserves simply because some of you(not all) are on a one track mind and hate MS.

When Forza is released, if the game sux, i'll admit that it's a POS. But until i've actually played the final copy, i can't really praise it nor diss it.

Like i've said b4, I own both systems, i know i'm buying GT4, and i'll get Forza as well.

Also note that i'm not calling Forza a GT killer cause Forza it's not.

I apologize for the large amount of GT 'real' shots and the small amount of Forza's. No, I did not do that on purpose. I got all the Forza pictures from gamespot, and they had just 20 or so I think, while there are hundreds of GT4 pics everywhere.

Please, post as many pics as you want to prove Forza has better graphics. I will admit that I'm quite sure , almost 100% sure that Forza cars use more polygons, enter interiors etc, BUT, from what I've seen so far, GT looks better in some vids, pics, while Forza has it beet in others. Overall, I'm sure Forza will beat it graphics wise, because after all it is on hardware that is 2-3 times stronger then PS2.

But as the pics prove, Forza does not 'blow' GT4 away.
 
yes, GT4 is far and away the more realistic looking racer. That's been established. Many, many times.

To some people though, more realistic isn't nessessarily prettier. It's all a matter of opinion on which "looks better" to each person. But nobody can argue that there is a more realistic looking racing game than GT4 (yet). So that will hopefully bury the graphics disputes.
 
Hmm...well it seems I'll have to keep my eye on this thread, espcially when someone posts something wrong.

Anyways, I'll be comparing Enthusia and GT4, before I start a thread like this.
 
Gotta admit Forza has some pretty sweet graphics.

Since I have an XBOX and a PS2, I'll probably get both.

I have no GT4 is gonna be the "Best Game Ever", but Forza looks like a contender, especially if it has custom soundtracks.
