I know I should've begged the 'rents for a kart when I was a kid. My 5 year old will soon be getting his though. I can live through him.

i wish i got into it too, but instead i started ice hockey at 5 which is just about up there with costs

i hope to get into the skip barber racing series, then the cosworth atlantics ( formerly known as toyota atlantics, then champ cars

lol

THANX for the guide Mr P!!! That's exactly the line I attempt to take, seems I just do it much more "S..L..O..W..L..Y" than most everyone else! :irked:

After 25 Laps: 20.551 / 40.129 ...O.G. :D

Got me a new time and new sectors ... :D

....see you got me by .001 at T1 there MisterWeary...!

Maybe...but you then proceeded to fly off to T2 infront of me...hope you finished strong cause I did ;)

This is such a close week. So far on the Leaderboard there is 0.093 seconds b/tw 2nd and 8th place in Div. 2!!! Can't wait to see how the results turn out!!!

Just wondering, in the history of WRS has their ever been a tie for a lead of a Division?

If so...what happens? Who gets the points? Should we put them in a 24hour shoot-out or something?

New Splits

T1-20.625 or something
T2-40.129 have seen a .0xx once.

Does anyone else have tips on taking the first corner because that is where I am losing all my T2 time as well as T1 time.

Brake earlier and get on the gas (or feathering it)earlier than you would think you should... At least that's how I originally was taking it "slow"... Hope this helps!

GO AUSTRALIA :)
Com on Aussie, Com on, Come on Aussie!! Come On

Read MrPs write-up. If that fails, I'm slower, and this is how I take it for a 20.4X or slower T1...

Key is that you get a clean exit at the hairpin so that you can be carrying 154-155 at the SFL. Using a DS2 on 280 gearing, drive along the left side of the road and at about 1 car length or a bit more before the curbing starts on the left side, go max brake and slam down two gears in very quick succession while turning in. Cut across the track back on the gas full to the curbing at the apex (left wheels on the curbing, right in the grass) and floor it out. Track out left and shift up to fourth while continuing the arc right, again across the curbs if necessary.

MrP says to brake "moderately" as early as exiting the bridge's shadow. Seems early, but his times are good so I can't dispute that. He also mentions that you can "easily" make the corner without hitting any rumbles and he's obviously able to carry more speed and go full thottle earlier with his technique since he's got an good 0.2" advantage over me at T1. That's nearly 30 feet at 100 mph or 15 feet to his ghost's rear bumper from my front! I've tried that technique and my ghost runs away every time. Must be doing something wrong...

DFP? Still trying to figure it out. Can't get the car to do the same thing and I'm losing time because of it. Had the same problem last week and like last week, have resorted to going RS rear tires. I can't get the car to rotate as naturally with the wheel. I've since FINALLY gotten my DFP times down to DS2 times, but all in the second half of the track. I can't match my T1 times with the DFP. If anyone has any hints as to how to "translate" driving style across controllers, PLEASE chime in.

I like to practice refining line and setup using the DS2 for ease of use, but if I need to invest an hour or more JUST to get reacclimated to the technique needed using the wheel, it sure seems like almost a waste of time.

Anyway, good luck. Let me know if it works for your driving style.

I think you'll find ENGLAND are the champs :sly:

This week is gonna be mighty close in all divisions!

Guess some improvement is better than none....barely

20.844
40.489

Have a good chance to be FIRST.... (from the bottom) this week.

Red Toyota Altezza Touring Car '01 @ Midfield

T2 - :39.589

I dunno if I can better this one but I'll sure as hell try...lol.

Hey thx guys! I've been getting consistent like within .6 the last 15 out of 20 laps, so I may be at my limit here....man I forgot how much I loved this track in GT3!
But I've been trying like mad to keep up with Z the last few weeks here and now I guess he's my arch enemy elsewhere too. But I'd throw the dice on the odds he's STILL faster than me here and well everywhere...lol :nervous:

:scared: Did a 2 hour session today and couldn't beat my time. :yuck:

I'm doing some major stuff wrong in the first section wich follows me through the second and last section. My fault lies in the braking. Had one or two fast ones in the two hours but couldn't hold it till the end of the lap cause of stress, lol:p.

I'm beginning to love WRS, and that for the first race

Btw, Luxy, you forgot the t in the middle of my nick on the leaderboard.;)

For some reason, I am just not hitting it with this combo ... I just can't get that T1 time down ... I just ran 30 laps, all of them .2 off my personal best at that split alone. :(

Hey, that might just help!! Actually I was talking with Z last night and I felt "inspired" to give it another go. New splits:

T1 - 20.365 (saw 20.280)
T2 - 39.455 :D 👍

Knocked another 0.1 off my old time. Had another lap immediately after it where I knocked off another 0.05, BUT....it might be dirty. Last turn I think I got over the rumble strip by the absolute slightest of margins. I might need someone to take a look at it, but I'm pretty sure it's not gonna count :grumpy: .

Ten more lap, some new splits. Getting closer to that sub 40 second T2

20.478
40.070

edit: 2 laps after I posted this I finally got that sub 40 second T2 :D

20.532
39.880

Taken nearly a quarter of a second from the total laptime. I lost a bit in the last sector though, braking too early for the hairpin. I'm happy though (of course) and I probably won't improve through the rest of the week.

 got another good run in, took off another .2 off the final time :dopey:

t1 - 20.500
t2 - 39.784

can see about 2 tenths more if i hit it just right but need lots of time to get it.

Kolyana
Dayum you amp ... clearly your the guy I need to chase. You're running hot this week.

Why, thank you, ma'am :)

I'm a big fan of Midfield, it was one of my favourite tracks in GT3, so I'm enjoying this week's race.

Had some time to spend on this week's race and came up with these after like 30 laps :

Running 280 as the topspeed, as 270 seems just to short for me on the 1st corner, as I hit the limiter when gearing down

T1 : 20.401
T2 : 39.839
