Anybody disappointed with the update, i am, new nascars that are just the same as all the other

Standard car interior veiw, i know it says 'basic' but eww, just black outlines i'd rather not use it (was so looking forward to finally sitting in a veyron)

The new nascar photomode? whats the point, you line up a nice photo and boom the cars driven off.

Well thats just my 2cent, what about yours?

(REMOVED)
you seriously expect them to have nice interiors for 800 standard cars within less than a year plus doing all this other stuff??? just play forza bro if u are that disappointed with GT

Really don't think this update deserves the jump to 2.0. There are some nice features but no new gameplay content, nothing for me to put a few hours into like the 400 odd A Spec events that we were down on from GT4 or new special events.

I spent an hour or so using the new features and that was spec 2 done.

LOL, I knew Turn 10 employees would be on here trolling as soon as the update launched. And I do believe you Turn 10 employees are smoking blunts right now, and have been for the last 5 years. Because you're obviously all a bunch of drugged out stoners judging by the way you keep saying you're making a driving sim yet continually turn out a product with completely unrealistic arcade physics. Only a group of real pot-heads would do that 4 times in a row. LOL

This is the best post in this thread by far! Had a great laugh out of it! 👍

To be honest I don't really see where all the disappointment is due to. The only thing GT5 lacked in my opinion when it was released was mid-game saves, which kept me from doing all those long endurance races in A-spec. Now I can finally start with those!

What I'm understanding from all these "disappointed" people is that they were expecting GT5 to be turning into the perfect racing sim they've always dreamed GT5 to become. Well, you were deadly wrong already when you purchased GT5 in that case. I think it's important PD still holds true to their roots, and personally I think they did. At times it seems people actually tend to, or even want to, forget how much time PD have spent making what is actually in the game. And the reality is that there's stupidly much in this game. Yet, blinded by ignorance and arrogance people choose to ignore PD's hard work and they continue to behave like utter idiots to try and push PD into other things. However, if we continue to be patient I firmly believe GT5 will be the best racing game for any console by far after future specs/patches/updates.

I, for one, would like to say a big thanks to PD for this update, for adding a new set of absolutely fantastic looking race cars and the legendary Spa track!

I can guarantee that won't be the case for me. I just got 800 new cars.

When are they going to add a "Sort by ping time" or "country" function in the online browser? For people like me, not living in the US and don't have super fat internet pipes, its hard finding a lag-free-ish game.

I personally am glad for the simplefied cockpit view for the standard cars, I use cockpit view on the premiums and now finally can have the same camera perspective instead of hood or bumper views, I will now drive standards much more often.

Also the weather and time controls are great when you want to race with specific settings and not random monsoons.

Overall it is the best update so far, I just hope they accelerate the pace now on enhancementes and DLC especially tracks.

Kaz said this was in response to what the fans wanted? I don't think so. The fans wanted more content as far as I could tell, and they wanted to keep the credit system. Not go backward. Look, there are over a 1000 cars, and not everyone has all that time to grind the money to buy those cars, and some are priced very high. The Credit system before seemed somewhat reasonable.

Of course fans want more content, we want all the content! And maybe we get more too. The test tracks in the Opening Movie points to new track DLC.

Wait, wait....PD gives you what you've been asking for since the games release: interiors for all cars and mid endurance saves and a bunch of others, and....it's not good enough? Look, if you're not going to be happy with what you get, then I doubt PD is going to care what you think. I know I don't.

I love what Kaz has done here...well most of it (Love the N24 GT-R!). For example, enough with the nascar. No one wants to go in circles for 500 miles in those ugly heavy ass cars. He could've added some new SuperGT cars like the Honda HSV-010. Also, the MKIV Supra is still standard! I could think of several other cars that they could've spent the time into making into premium instead of those useless nascars. Other than that, it's perfect. Looking forward to Spa and the new DLC cars!

I wouldn't say I'm disappointed, it's just that most of the additions are small but functional changes. To be honest given all the hype about "Spec 2.0" I expected a bit more and at least a change to the GT Life screen to make it feel like you're playing GT5 Spec 2.0

The NASCAR cars are a bit disappointing as a few of the skins have barely changed but that's not PD's fault.

The standard car interior view is a joke to be honest, crap like that has no place on a PS3 game in my opinion. On the flip side the open cockpit cars dashboards are ok(ish) I suppose.

The NASCAR pit lane photo mode is pointless.

The other features are good though but unnoticable unless you're using them such as mid endurance race saves and rewinding replays.

what are you expecting for free?
The rest of the game

It actually does, this is a free content update in this day and age where most publishers push for DLC, you could be sure if this wasn't PD you'd have paid for a lot of the updates you got. I'd say for a free update this is a great thing to have support for the game. Nobody's forcing you to use the cockpit view on standard cars if you don't want to use it. Having more options is always something better :)

No publisher in their right mind would have had you pay for this update. Maybe a few cents for the cars but updates to game play are never a paid thing. At least not on xbox games.

Ok I'm a little "ehh" on the update. For every "hooray" there's a "booo".

Physics update: hooray, physics are starting finally "get there". A few more updates and they'll be some nice physics
Clutch update: Boooo, they didn't bother fixing their horrible clutch mechanisms in the game. Hard to enjoy the physics when you can't even enjoy shifting your car
Cockpits for all: hooray
Black cutouts after a year to get it right: booo

This list pretty much goes on like that to be honest. At least their trying but it definitely hasn't swayed me from my "purchase" later on today ;)
I did have fun with a GTplanet member tonight though. I forgot about the dealership thing. I really wish they'd get rid of that or tweak it to something else. I wanted to race some V8 supercars. Forgot I might not see on until next month.

The changes on the NASCAR stock cars are subtle, and some of their paint changes so little that unless you're a NASCAR fan you may not even notice any diference. The changes to the bodies include the new gas filler connection dealie and the old splitters are like a blade connected under the nose, the new splitters are molded into the body. I think there's slightly different brackets for the spoilers, though Kaz may not have gotten THAT detailed.

I LOVE Denny's new paint. The Best Buy car is nice as well.

My only disappointment with this whole sudden rebirth of GT5 with 2.0 and DLC coming out of nowhere is the track part of the DLC. One track I don't really care about (though any new track is good I suppose) and 2 space themed kart tracks? (if im understanding the kart thing correctly). Ok The kart track is a kool little bonus, but 1 real track? I was really hoping for a decent package of 4 ACTUAL tracks (not including the kart tracks). Spa? OK, but where's Infineon (also a NASCAR track for NASCAR fans), Pike's Peak or a whole long list of other tracks. I absolutely LOVE GT5, don't get me wrong. But it is a bit depressing when GTPSP has like double the amount of tracks as GT5 on PS3. And these are all tracks that are already designed, they just have to put a new coat of paint on them and rake in the $$$$$.

There , there dear......

Things I liked (The Good):

1) Seems to load faster
2) Physics seem a little more accurate then before (not by much though) but the tire load monitor usually is a good indicator of attention to detail.
3) Not that I'd use any of these but have you seen the crazy helmets and suits now?

Things I disliked (The Bad):

1) Only 1 new car (I don't count the new stock cars) where is the FT-86 we've been hit with all this time?
2) More options to get lost in before you actually get into a race which waste time.
3) At almost 1.2Gigs the update didn't really change my experience of the game.

Things I hated (The Ugly):

1) Same with the FT-86 comment we have seen the shots from the teaser video, and we have seen the icons on the server.... where are the classic tracks?!?
2) The cash cows are gone, and so are the half priced cars. Now its back to grinding big time..... and for what.
3) One lousy new track and a couple of RMs for DLC? I might buy the cars but that and one new track is not much of an upgrade.

@t.o.

LOL, that's hilarious how you say GT5's physics are "starting to finally get there" (BTW GT5 has incredible physics when it comes to the driving), yet you're talking up the competition coming out today which you know.....when it comes to driving physics in that game (which yes I've already had a nice long look at in a slew of video reviews), you may as well be playing Cruisin' USA lol

I'm really happy with update, there's so many features to appreciate.
I really hate attitude of people complaining all the time. You are no GT fans by any means.
Bunch of whiners.

👍

Spec II is just additions. The game is great as it is, so why would adding things be bad...

I haven't played it yet, but by the sound of it it's awesome!

Well since you're such a big GT5 fan you will have read what Kazunori Yamauchi wrote when this update was announced then? Something about PD listening to the people who play the game?

So basically the "bunch of whiners" are the reason you've got this update that you appreciate so much because without them PD would have walked away from this game months ago.

Please think before you start whining about whiners in future.

I hope there will more DLC on new cars like Aventador, 2012 GT-R R35, M5, E 63 AMG, RS5, etc2....

If this is the place where we complain, I have only one since the beginning: not enough events, some cars can almost never be used, from the 2cv to the x2010, plus the rally cars .... Happy otherwise

Sweet, havent touched GT5 in months since hitting 40 , might now be able to some enduros thanks to the mid-race saves

well the interior view looks horrible, glad i use the bumper view since getting a wheel,
but im more disappointed with only 2 tracks in the dlc next week...

This right here...is too true, I say to all those who complain about the so called whiners, realize that we are the true fans that make things evolve for the better by giving feed back and not just acting as others who just sit there and take it with a smile as if nothing is possibly wrong. There is nothing wrong with criticizing things, heck that's why most things in this world have evolved for the better...due to criticism. I think a reality check is needed for those who can't understand that.

This may have been mentioned...I didn't read the entire thread...sorry. The one thing I was looking forward to was more limitations on Room parameters. So I went into a GT500 room and noticed it was set for 502hp and 1100 kgs, and not "GT500" only as I thought it would be.

So I asked why. Answer: Because if you choose one of the available restrictions, like Lambo's or Ferrari's only, you can't also restrict HP and weight so you can run any car at any pp level or hp level and there's not check and balance on it. You can restrict manufacturer or hp/weight or pp...but cant' combine them.

Pardon my french but talk about not getting something right. What a golden opportunity to have more competitive, easier to run rooms with equal competition, and they blew it...plain and simple blew that aspect of the update.

I used to say this as a joke but now I think it's true. I think the guys that develop this game don't play it online and have no clue as to what we really need out here in the trenches. They have no connection with their fan base and no clue as to what they really want.
