25 tracks? lol wut. Do you realise how much work goes into tracks? iRacing sells them at $11.95 a track (Albiet laser scanned and only real world tracks). Thats just under $300, you want 25 tracks for what? $15?

2.0 hasnt disapointed because it gave exactly what it said it was giving, so if werent disapointed before it was released then you shouldn't be disapointed now. If you're disapointed because you expected 25 tracks in one DLC release, its your own fault for being stupid.

No work will go into the tracks, or about as much as they put into most of the GT4 looking ones that came with the game. The textures in some are terrible (trial mountain for one) and surely knocking out the missing GT4 tracks wouldn't be a massive untaking, unlike iracing's laser scanning and building from scratch.

Good points:
  • G27 support
  • Enduro resume
  • Replay fwd/rev
  • Shuffle mode base PP selection
  • Car categories in online game setup

What I am missing:
  • Sort garage by car category.
  • "Max 5% engine detuning" option for online game setup.
  • Online shuffle games are still limited to a 500 PP base, produces good cars but not supercars, why that limit? And why cant host choose tyres? M3 on sports hard means too many accidents.
Grumpy old guys would argue that the good stuff should have been in the game since 1.0. But these features still make spec2 better than spec1 in any case.

I do not expect new *real* cars in GT5, only fantasy cars. So I am not crying about those (not overly amused either). I think PD will save the real cars for GT6. Business.

Well, I really REALLY wanted to like this update. Kept my hopes up...

So.. what does g25 and g27 support mean? Still doesn't play as good as it should... clutch still not analog, not much feedback on the wheel. Hadn't touched GT5 for quite a while.. to be honest, ever since I played Shift 2 (pc version) which seems to look/sound/play a whole lot better than GT.

The physics seems to have improved and about half an hour I played I didn't see any opponents crashing into me, so I guess AI is improved also - HOPEFULLY. For everything else I wasn't very much interested..

I'm at work atm, I'll give it one more shot later on tonight and I hope I enjoy it. I have about 100 seasonals to play :/

If you're looking for a more realistic physics model in fm4, then you're really gonna be disappointed, I was. You can tell the game is made to be played with a game pad.

You just may be right. I won't know till I try it. But this is how fed up I am with PD in regards GT5 specifically. If they get a clue with GT6 I will deffinately be back full time.

I for one am happy

At least they are working on improving an already amazing game, most other developers wont even bother

Personally the saving of endurance races and multiple car setups is the best for me...now bring on SPA DLC!

Are you serious? They just delivered everything they've been promising for almost a year, and some people are still unsatisfied? Seriously? I have done my fair share of complaining about this game in the past, but I have nothing bad to say anymore. PD deserves a pat on the back for this one!

Standard bitch black interior dissapoints me!

Let me moan in piece!

Still no matchmaking, so no, they haven't. :)

Woohoo!

The rest of the game came almost a year after release. Good job PD!

Still no leader boards, still no standard model attention other than cardboard cut-out interiors, and still no sound attention.

And that DLC?

Man! New liveries for cars already in the game!

And new "paint chips" that I have to PAY for.

More go-karts!

.....

Give me one night in Forza 4 and I will have that car "DLC" pack replicated. Amazing it took PD a year to do that.

Ya you're right. I HAVE NO IDEA why people are still complaining. Maybe we have the bar set too high? Nope, yours is just too low. Kazinite.

Someone was in a rush to compete with a far superior game....

I guess you can call a suspension a save and I guess you can call 3 multiple...

I'm not disapointed about the update. I made sure I had pretty low expectations to ensure that. It's ok, some good things some bad. Aspec is still ****e tho. Why do PD give options to make Arcade mode better and more realistic than Aspec is beyond me.

Oh damn i am so GLAD i brought out the entire OCD at that time of all the gold that was in it, last car i officially took from there to buy it out was the Bently speed 8

...Something yesterday told me to grind all day and aquire all the cars in the OCD glad i listened. few...:O

and with 20 million credits left over from today's grind/ X1 special event, im good.

Happy GT-ing folks.

You and me both. I wanted to get them in case anything happend after spec 2. Thankfully I bought the OCD clean last night.

Not disappointed at all here. The update did all it set out to do and did it well, physics are great AI is certainly improved, the loading times are much much better. The hew tracks coming look great and I am actually looking forward to the car packs, they all look great.

So you actually have to battle to make it to first place now?

See that's just not right. I've grown up with GT, it was always the pinnacle of racing games. So for someone to say they had low expectations of what this update would bring just shows how badly they got it wrong with GT5.

Its what fan boys do. Aim low then feed off of the little they get!

Not much to complain about the update, PD released a patch, I just download and enjoy it.

Now with 800 standard cars to simulate real-world cockpit view with (minus the cockpit details), that's a lot of time to invest in.

And I think PD might be attempting to satisfy North American customers by focusing on new NASCARS and Pitlane photomode, because some DLCs (Stealth, Chromes and GT Academy SPECIAL GT-R) did not make it to US shores, yet.

I however have an issue with the new DLCs...

If we were to assume that the 1.2Gb patch we downloaded contained all the DLC contents, and we're just paying Sony to get an Unlock Code to unlock and use it, it might sound like a shady deal (INTEL also has something similar to Unlock some extra speed on a range of their PC CPUs, just pay for an unlock code).

But alas, I would gladly pay to drive on Spa dress like the Stig (along with a million other soon-to-be Stigs), and just assume the rest of the DLC packs are extras that come with the above privilege...

Well done PD. Keep the DLCs coming.... :)

Why do you have to call people fan boys? It does no one any good, causes antagonism and doesn't further the discussion in any way.

*conducts funeral for the dignity of all those bitching and moaning about Polyphony doing something that other developers will never do*

Come on guys, lets be honest, if this was another developer (such as the a**eholes in Vancouver) you'd have to pay £15/$20 for something like this, you're also complaining about the new packs, lets not forget people that alot of other developers would charge £5-25 for just one car on its own, and lets not forget, it not like PD did this in space time for a laugh, they did this at a cost, this probably cost anything between £100,000-£750,000 in development costs.

Now stop trolling and start racing.

I'm happy with all updates and improvements to this great game. They have given us tons of free content — something like 70 seasonal events — since launch. What they should really do is not announce updates anymore, which would temper all the speculation/expectation threads.

DLC is underwhelming, but come on $12 for all of it including Spa and the Stig suit? I'll buy it all day 1.

They've had since GT4 was released to create 1000 detailed cars..... Instead what we get is pitch black interior. Poor.

Heck Forza managed 500 detailed cars.

I would pay $12 for the suit alone...:dunce:

First off, I appreciate any effort to improve a product the consumer has already paid for. That said, I'll leave my praise for another thread.

I am more than bummed that the FF/REW only apply to replays made after 2.0. I am sure it is some kind of technical limitation that is beyond my programming capability (not much capability), but it is pretty half assed. I have plenty of replays where I have been waiting for a FF/REW to get that perfect photo, and the Spec 2 doesn't and likely will never fix those. And the resolution on the FF/REW jumps is horrendous.

While Spa is the #1 track I wanted; it wasn't the only track I wanted. I hope further DLC will remedy that. Although, at $5/track (of interest to me at least) it will be tough to justify too many of those. Also, I better be able to run Spa online or it's worthless.

Other than those, I am pretty ecstatic.
