Son, I am dissapoint that there is no mustang RM. A viper RM would be nice too. But a mustang RM was what I had been hoping for all along.

Well I am loving the update. Have only really done one thing which is drive in the 100% surface water and let it dry out at High Speed Ring in a F2007. It feels great as the track drys out. And the new physics are amazing. Oh adn the open roof standard cars ar amazing too. The cockpits and everything is amazing. Plus the FGT is epic now.

I can't believe there is even a thread called "Disappointment". I wish every game was supported by the makers as well as GT5 is. Moan...Whinge....I want...I want. !

Constructive criticism is a good thing but when it just becomes endless whining and endless abuse aimed at the makers of such a fine simulation as GT. I say it's time to put your console away and go and sample real life.

Before you rip my argument to bits with.."I payed £40 and expect to have my say" just remember this.

You payed around £40 for a sublime driving simulator that runs on a home console. You have got to experience the closest thing many of us will ever get to actually speeding around such world class tracks as nurburgring and suzuka.

Before you start criticising the AI, I say this, Would you race around a real race track at 130 miles per hour with a real car controlled by AI. I think not. Because chances are it would probably smash into you and wipe you out faster than you could say Good year tyres !

We live in 2011 and this is as sophisticated as AI driving gets. It would be impossible to add all the graphics, physics, sound, as well as 15 human brains with human instincts controlling some of the most complicated "artificial" machinery on our roads.

OK rant over I am now off to enjoy the feeling of putting in an amazing track time on the top gear test track. Something I doubt I would ever be lucky enough to achieve in Real Life.

I find surprisingly that the "black" interiors are little different to me than the full interiors. I'm not looking directly at either one, so the way my vision focuses on the road, they serve approximately the same purpose--a visual field that's more realistic than the others. And I like that the standard car cockpit view has the "dial" gauges instead of the stupid rpm bar that's so hard to find your shift point on that appears for premiums.

To me, honestly, there's no difference between standard/premium any more. Some little things like headlight control and wipers, but that's it.

I'm not sure what would please all the whiney naysayers who expect the world handed to them in exactly the way they'd like it.

Sure, I'd like Sebring International Raceway, Seattle, Mid-Ohio, Road America, Road Atlanta, all ALMS cars plus the R18. Can we have an ALMS update just for me?

EDIT: I second that the FGT has become amazing just with a simple bit of pixelation. And the physics do feel quite a bit better.

As he stated it cost £40, that would mean, he is from the UK. In the UK we say 'mum' or 'mummy'. So when attempting your trolling, try and make it relevant to your intended person.

first, i was agreeing with him
second, point taken

dhandes

I think he was insinuating that the haters are young kids and they don't pay for their own games. I think he was supporting my argument lol

Mummy

Watch out it's angry!

Turn that frown upside down people, nothing's perfect so just be grateful of what you do get and you we will all be happier ;)

There's one TINY little thing about the standart car onboard view I really miss. Since I drive almost always premium cars without HUD I sometimes depend on the driver's hand animation to change gear. Most of the time I can tell by listening to the engine sound, but I've gotten used to it and I really wish PD would have implemented it with standart cars too. Perhaps they fix it in a later update.
Otherwise nothing to complain.

Gotta love that understeer leading into massive oversteer under braking. Car was on rails when I did the FGT Championship. Now it's undrivable (for me) on the Nurb 24hr Seasonal. My setup is trash now.

I liked the idea of having multiple classes in online shuffle racing. However I, and PD apparently as well, forgot that the PP system used isn't as great as it should be. The difference in speed between the cars is immense, killing the concept of shuffle racing by trying to improve it. FAIL.

Edit: had some races with the usual suspects and I wasn't the one in the slowest or fastest car, which made them quite enjoyable. New problem however: they replaced the unable to see someone bug with the car has become a statue bug.

This is just so wrong I don't know where to begin. Buy a damn Dreamcast and play Ferrari F355 Challenge, produced in 1999, and you will find FAR superior AI. You can actually have a really enjoyable race with it. I seem to remember TOCA Race Driver 2 on the Xbox 1 also had pretty good AI in most events.

If everyone has low expectations of games like this no progress will ever happen.

"The same thing can be said about Windows 7, antivirus programs, and PS3 firmware..."

Microsoft makes buggy OS's, but for heavens sake, it releases an updated OS within the time it took PD to write GT5. Get some perspective. Antivirus programs update because new exploits are found all the time. PS3 firmware is updated so that Sony can shove more crap onto the XMB that you didn't ask for.

25 tracks? lol wut. Do you realise how much work goes into tracks? iRacing sells them at $11.95 a track (Albiet laser scanned and only real world tracks). Thats just under $300, you want 25 tracks for what? $15?

2.0 hasnt disapointed because it gave exactly what it said it was giving, so if werent disapointed before it was released then you shouldn't be disapointed now. If you're disapointed because you expected 25 tracks in one DLC release, its your own fault for being stupid.

You do realize that iRacing isn't a game maker like Sony so they have to charge more obviously especially to meet the demand. Don't you think that if they made nearly as much money as PD with GT the tracks would be less? Let's try to be fair to both games. PD is rolling in money from five and the four other main GT games they've put out alone. Then you think about games like GT5P and asking for the new DLC cars for free isn't some far outcry. 2.0 shouldn't be a disappointment to anyone, PD told us black and white how it was going to be so no one should sit there and be like..."this is crap" I just think the DLC is a let down and people should since PD never really told us till last night what it would look like. Also to finalize about iRacing, most of the people that play that sim are Pro racers, with a bigger majority being ameture racers that may find it alot easier to do their hobby online than the more expensive real world setting. I don't know if you've raced ameture wise, but I have and it is quite expensive going to the local road course, hell even drag racing gets costly if you try to get serious.

EDIT: The pro racers usually can afford iRacing

There was no need for them to have 1.1 gig of update for a game that is now nearly 1yr old. People should be happy what they have done since launch. Most devs would not even bother.

There was a need, because most of these features should have been in the game at the start. Kaz said when the game came out he wanted another year to make it, common sense and logic therefore suggests there was up to a years worth of content he wanted to have in the game but didn't. Ergo, they have now been adding that content via patches.

They din't announce anything at TGS. If you giive them more time they will try to do more things. It is same for every game. They are probably doing it because they honestly think it is fair to do as somethings weren't the way they wanted. Also they want to keep their fans happy.

How does that relate to anything I said?

1. Quite irrelevent. Like I said we're talking purely about the cost of the cars here, not the tracks.

2. I highly doubt that. All i see are flared wheel arches, aero parts here and there, a rear wing and new wheels. Add on top of that a very basic paint job I'd be amazed if it took more than a few hours for each car.
Oh, I forgot, the cars in iRacing costs 11.95 each as well.

A few hours? Please, don't make yourself look stupider than you are. Anyway, it doesn't matter if it only took two seconds to make all those cars, it's still not expensive.

Oh, and you're not only disappointed about the DLC prices, you're disappointed about the FREE 2.0 update also huh? How can a human being be disappointed about a FREE update? It's not theoretically possible in my book. I mean, would you rather not have updates at all? Explain it for me, please.

Of course you can be disappointed by something that is free. Imagine you own a car and the manufacturer says "bring it back to us, we'll perform a few upgrades for you, free of charge." You take them the car, have the upgrades done and find they've changed the handling of your car with a new suspension pack and you don't like it any more. Are you saying you can't be disappointed in that upgrade, because it was free? That's just one random example that came into my head but there are million other scenarios where something free can be disappointing.

As for my disappointment at the spec 2.0 update, I'm happy that they're still updating the game as I feel they should be, my problem was that they deemed it a major enough upgrade to jump from 1.1x to 2.0, so I was disappointed as I don't feel the content lived up to that much of a jump. I would expect more.

Now we have a thousand-car shuffle mode. You don't even have to try to get a 16 player professional race going.

All you people that want to compare GT5 to forza, or have any complaint at all about GT5 make me sick.

I happy whit the update & DLC.

But there are only 2 things i want

A proper "Hood" view for all cars.

& still more tracks...

All other things are nice, good extra's nothing more.
