Now we have a thousand-car shuffle mode. You don't even have to try to get a 16 player professional race going.

All you people that want to compare GT5 to forza, or have any complaint at all about GT5 make me sick.

Really? Makes you sick? Are you seriously telling me there is not one thing you don't like about the game, or feel the game is missing?

Of course you can be disappointed by something that is free. Imagine you own a car and the manufacturer says "bring it back to us, we'll perform a few upgrades for you, free of charge." You take them the car, have the upgrades done and find they've changed the handling of your car with a new suspension pack and you don't like it any more. Are you saying you can't be disappointed in that upgrade, because it was free? That's just one random example that came into my head but there are million other scenarios where something free can be disappointing.

As for my disappointment at the spec 2.0 update, I'm happy that they're still updating the game as I feel they should be, my problem was that they deemed it a major enough upgrade to jump from 1.1x to 2.0, so I was disappointed as I don't feel the content lived up to that much of a jump. I would expect more.

People don't understand the concept of getting it done right the first time. People are used to such things hence why they don't understand our complaints. Spec 2.0 is fine, the DLC is my biggest issue and it's not price.

Wow, talk about intolerance. I don't know how anyone can think this way while being on a forum where everyone doesn't have the same opinion on things.

You do realize that iRacing isn't a game maker like Sony so they have to charge more obviously especially to meet the demand. Don't you think that if they made nearly as much money as PD with GT the tracks would be less? Let's try to be fair to both games. PD is rolling in money from five and the four other main GT games they've put out alone. Then you think about games like GT5P and asking for the new DLC cars for free isn't some far outcry. 2.0 shouldn't be a disappointment to anyone, PD told us black and white how it was going to be so no one should sit there and be like..."this is crap" I just think the DLC is a let down and people should since PD never really told us till last night what it would look like. Also to finalize about iRacing, most of the people that play that sim are Pro racers, with a bigger majority being ameture racers that may find it alot easier to do their hobby online than the more expensive real world setting. I don't know if you've raced ameture wise, but I have and it is quite expensive going to the local road course, hell even drag racing gets costly if you try to get serious.

EDIT: The pro racers usually can afford iRacing

I play iRacing, I am not a pro racer, along with the thousands of other members who are not pro racers, don't get me wrong there are plenty of pro racers there, but they are far outnumbered by the average joe sim racer or racing game fan.

You wanted free DLC cars? Well you got free DLC cars in GT5 2.0. Do you want them to take them back, relabel them as DLC and set the price as free?

Obviously all kinds of real life racing costs money, tyres are not cheap, fuel is not cheap and cars are not cheap. Obviously iRacing don't have the balls in the bank that Sony have, but that doesnt take away from the work it takes to create a high quality track and it doesnt take away from the fact that one of GT5's competitors (though a more niche/specialist one) charges $11.95 per track and $14.95 per car.. I'm not saying GT5 DLC should cost that much, but put it into perspective. For the price of 1 iRacing track you're getting 2 tracks, a bunch of racing cars and a few other extras.

Spa was the highest voted track in all of the polls that have been here over the last year or so, it was the best choice. Would I want more? Sure I do but I will wait and see. You can never please everybody, for every person that was disapointed the track/car they wanted isnt in the list, there is another guy who is pleased he is finally getting to drive Spa in GT5 with a few more premiums to add to the collection.

To begin with, that would never be free in the real world, but IF it would be free, no, I would not be disappointed, because it didn't cost me anything! Also, that's different story, because they're replacing the suspension, where in GT5 they're not replacing stuff, they're adding stuff.

So eventhough you knew what was coming you expected more? Well, what are you gonna do about it? Whining doesn't help the least bit.

Like I said, it was just an example. But really, if they effectively ruined your car you wouldn't mind?

Yes, and I'm not the only one. Look back in the threads about 2.0 before it was released and people were saying that there would be more than those 12 odd things Kaz announced on twitter.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but i am a little disappointed with the new fast forward and rewind feature on the replays, it only lets you skip what looks like sectors and not get it right to where you want it, it's better than it was just thought it could have been better

Haven't tried it yet but I don't like the sound of that at all. It's one of the features I've been really looking forward to.

👎

Yes I would. Happy?

Oh, so "people" told you so? Shame you listened to 'em then...

Again, what are you gonna do about it? Stay on here and whine all night? Be my guest. I have a feeling it won't change the things you're disappointed about though.

So let me get this straight, people saw the patch notes, decided there would be more, and then all of you disapointed people got in a big huddle and talked about how there would be more, despite there being no indication that there would be more, you just took it apon yourselfs to assume there would be more, because "there has to be, right?"

Then the patch comes out, adding everything it stated it was going to add, and improving the areas it was meant to improve, you see the patch and after finding out that there isnt more (along with all your buddies) you come to the forums to complain in your disapointment about how there should be more.

Despite having read the patch notes, that stated exactly what you would be getting.

The stupidity hurts my brain.

well i would have loved to get it just to the point of where a car is spitting flames or at the right point of a power slide but no, they just jump from one sector to another, like i say it's better than it was but im sure they could have done better

It's better than nothing but kind of lame if you are asking me. If I recall correctly, GT4 also had a fast-forward/rewind feature in replays. I was expecting something just like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kaz nor any article ever gave a list and said "this is all of the content in the patch". Kaz listed some things on twitter, stopped, and then the articles and such were born.

Was I expecting to find he'd also added 10 tracks and 200 cars? No, but I did hold out hope there were more A-Spec races and events he'd kept as a surprise.

they really screwed us regarding the seasonal events and the OCD... they have cut the payout tremendously on ALL the seasonal events. On top of that, they have doubled the price of ALL the LMS cars in the OCD. i'm pissed.

You're not being screwed out of anything. They said in the beginning that the increased payouts were limited-time, and the half-price cars were a gift. We didn't deserve any of it, but they were nice enough to help us along.

Heaven forbid people actually have to spend more time playing a racing game to get more money to buy more cars to race more races...

yeah me too to be honest but maybe we might get something in the future, lets hope so because in my view that's a big flop

People complain when there are no updates, and when we get this super awesome update people still complain. I mean really...

But that is just the thing, there are not enough unique offline races to race!

First off I didn't say they all were pro racers, I said Pro and Ameture and obviously you didn't understand me that obvious from you misquoting me. I said the DLC they're going to give next week as far as the cars go should be given and RM button in the GT auto with the 17 original RMs. Then they should go off and work on a true car pack for a bit and just update us as they go. I'm sure people would be happy with that. Don't go to extremes cause I offended your series, we all know those cars except for three of them are in the game already and could have been added for free.

Those 2011 nascars are not new just reskinned and front bumper redone cars of 2010, they messed up on the 2011 AJ Allmendinger one so let's not talk about that. They still haven't added Dodge to the nascar line ups. I'm fine with paying for DLC but at least when others do it, it is not just slightly tweeked already existing items in the game.

I'm not complaining about price, GT DLC price is affordable I think. I was simply saying that you should cut iRacing slack due to the fact that their bank roll isn't near Sony and thus they must charge more to stay alive. I'm sure one day cost will go down for iRacing, but being a PC sim is reason number one that it wont ever get big like a console game such as GT.

You're splitting hairs in your last part it's not that descriptive. People are dissapointed with the same stuff just in a new clothing. They want new items, hence why we see more people complain about the DLC car pack. The track pack complaint was due to it being called a pack when it really is a track and a half. There was also a big following for older GT tracks as much as the Spa in the feedback, so it could have been made a real pack. In general people just want new items not the same dish given a dress up. Ask people if they want new items in general on here, those who are disappointed that is and I'm sure they'll agree.

Oh, I can find plenty to be desired...

Mostly copypasted from another thread...

Let's see...

First, the big one, STILL NO MORE STEALTH OR CHROMELINE CARS COMING TO AMERICA. So, once again, only a European or Asian player has the possibility of running the absolute end-all, be-all tuning garage. I don't think I need to explain what's wrong with that!

Second, a Prius touring car? And a CR-Z? Seriously? Why are hybrids that important?

Third, we get... Spa and a kart track. That's OK, Spa itself will be enough to make me buy, but where are things like Red Rock Valley, the old Rome, and EL CAPITAN WHICH WAS IN A TRAILER?

Fourth, more chrome? Flourescent colors? Rejoice, for soon even more ugly cars will be seen online.

Fifth, they're basically giving us a Stig suit. The good news, I will be able to dress up like the Stig. The bad news, there will be a million Stigs running around now.

Sixth, first the free X2010 and now this? Oh boy, another noobmobile.

Seventh, the tripled seasonal payouts were one of the best things they'd done, and now they've gone and undone it. Now I'll have to log in every day just so my grinding (which is just about all I do in GT5 anymore) will be somewhat effective.

Eighth, they still haven't derestricted trading back to the way it was before 1.07. I don't think I need to explain what's wrong with that.

Ninth, where are the standards upgraded to premium?

Tenth, STILL NO LIVERY EDITOR. It's 2011 and they STILL DON'T HAVE A LIVERY EDITOR.

You posted this in the other thread and it lead to this:

Do you ever learn? lol

For some reason I get the sense that no one on a Gran Turismo forum actually is a fan LOL

Do the authorities here automatically ban anyone you call a troll?

I'm offended.

If you want to keep breaking AUP rules :)

Seeing as Kaz said it himself that the reason for this update and DLC is feedback and people demanding it. So I guess the sumation that complaining or as you'd put it "whinning" doesn't get gamers anywhere is wrong. If you go to the News selection you'll find his twitter post where he says it, just thought you should have all the facts before you trek onward.

It was a free update.. and that was seriously alot of free content that PD have given us since the games release.. how can you complain when it's free..?

Also in the DLC Touring car Prius and CR-Z hell YES!! :p :D

But that is just the thing, there are not enough unique offline races to race!
Unless you want to race online like everyone else, I guess you'll have to give up on GT5 then, because it doesn't seem to satisfy you one least bit, does it?

Seriously, how can you haters live with yourselves?

The more I think about it the more ironic it gets. Here we are, with a newly updated and much improved game, a DLC pack containing the very much wanted Spa Francorchamps and 15 cars + extras, for less than a meal at a decent resturant, and people absolutely hates it. I can't tell if it's some kind of ****ed up dream or if people are completely out of their minds.

Replay controls, interior views, UI improvements,... They all keep reminding me of the joke about the sorcerer. You get one free wish from the sorcerer, so to impress the ladies you wish for your euhm... male part to be so big it reaches the ground. The sorcerer says ok I will give you a private part that reaches to the ground, he performs his magic and wham... your legs are now 3 inch long.

Now we have all the gt fanboys standing around you, on their 3 inch legs, asking how the hell can you be disappointed, you were told exactly what you were gonna get, and even more it was free.

 this made me laugh so much and made sense in the funniest manner I've seen on this forum.

Now we have a thousand-car shuffle mode.

Not when I tried it it didn't. My testing only featured, from lowest to highest, Mazda 110S's to RUF CTR2's.

loving the update so far the only thing i would change is less nascars and more cool drivers cars. e.g. koniseggs and the arial atom and if anyone has seen it the BAC mono, coolest looking single seater EVER!!
