I was only gonna buy the track pack, but then found out I had money in my psn account that I wasn't gonna use anyway, so I bought the complete pack.

It was just as I expected.

Spa is fun to drive on, but all I've done so far is hotlapping.

The TC cars are RM cars, they appeal to the Fast&Furious crowd but not to me. The Dodge is probably the only car I'll ever touch again. Interiors don't seem premium, looks like a rushed job, the GT-R doesn't even have an interior rear view. I found the engine sounds on the other hand much better than I'm used to.

I did one lap of the karting track, I felt like playing Mario Kart on Wii so I quit.
The paint chips have names like 'GT Chrome E' and since the hue sorting doesn't work properly, it's difficult to find a specific color (I've got 1400+ colors).
My helmets and suits also didn't get sorted properly (on name), so it took me a while to find my black "anti-Stig" gear.

Conclusion: typical GT5. Some greatness mixed with weird ideas and half-assed execution.

Totally agree with the above post. It is great to finally get some new (the tracks), and some old made new (the cars) content. Welcome to '11 pd, hopefully you guys will fully ride that dlc gravy train into the future. Yeehaw there's gold in them thar hills :p

My biggest disappointment with this dlc is the awful screentearing on spa. I wish pd would optimise their tracks properly so their game engine can keep up.
It completely ruins the in-game immersion, and its damn ugly to boot.

Just got done with SPA online and not one time did I get screen tearing.

Today yet again another disappointment. No seasonal on Spa, but a time trial on Tsukuba. WTF are they smoking over there?

Not to bitch but I agree with the Standard interior views, thats just a pointless waste of time.

And the Nascar.. not disappointed at all, infact I love the new 2011 Redbull Camry I think it looks better than the 2010 version so I bought the new one.. but what is with one of the Fords it looks exactly the same as last year's version? Its the number 99 car.. its no different, the livery is exactly the same so why bother? Anyway.. thats the only two issues I see with it apart from that its all sweet like candy. :)

.

Rear view interior is missing on those cars which have a blocked rear window. There are several of them, surely you must have come across one in the last 10 months.

The TC miss any FIA stickers, which is a shame, but come close enough for my taste and tie in nicely with other RMs.

On Sports Tyres you'll find they require serious finesse to handle them properly. As one would expect from a race car. They are most certainly not riced versions of the road cars.

If a single car absolutely stands out it's the Miata. How you can speak of a rushed job in the light of this car is beyond me.

And btw, the original Stig had a black outfit.

I think they want people to believe that they actually have to purchase the DLC in order to drive on Spa. They probably gain some DLC income by limiting the awareness of how it's actually part of version 2.0.

They are obviously waiting for the NA region to get access to the DLC, as the next maintenance is also scheduled for 24/10 (EU). So I either expect there will be seasonals for a limited time using Spa as a 'try before you buy' type deal, or any seasonals using Spa to be locked for DLC owners only.

The Fast & Furious crowd? I really like the TCs, since I love race cars and will take any that PD offers, and I can tell you that I absolutely hate that ricer garbage. The Fast & Furious crowd are the people who paints their cars in ridiculous ways in this game.

After reading this thread, one thing really amuses me: the anger about removing the triple payouts on the Seasonals. I really can't understand the big deal here. I would imagine that if you play a game all the time, join a forum for it, and post regularly on that forum, you must like the game. Now, you have to play that game that you like a little more in order to unlock stuff. Oh, the horror!

And you all know that if you had every car and item in the game right away, you'd be crying equally as loud that PD made a game that was far too short and easy.

Depends on how many is in the lobby, first time I tried spa was online with 16players and it was tearing bad, tried it alone the day after and it was perfect.

"playing" the game to earn money is awful in GT5. Previous GTs had MUCH better career modes. Not to say I'm disagreeing with your comment about triple payments though.

Also...."liking" a game and being "happy" with design decisions are not always inseparably linked. GT5 is a "good" game, however it is very flawed in some critical areas and if those areas where given some TLC the game would be "great"...which is where a GT should be.

I'm happier with GT5 now I'm hotlapping again and playing arcade mode, but doesn't it sound odd that "arcade" mode is more realistic and has better options than the Aspec career? PD NEED to address that.

No I haven't. So what's your point? In case of a blocked rear window, you should have absolutely nothing blocking your rear view? Yeah, makes sense for PD and for you I guess. For me it means cutting corners.

They must have spent a whole five minutes on the livery of each car.

It must be hard to be so discerning when at the same time you "will take any that PD offers".

I don't care about anything that has a race number on it, and that's all there is in the dlc. PD is evidently not interested in acquiring new licensing to add new makes and models which really puts them behind forza in my opinion.

LOL, these guys are the same as the ones that don't mind another Skyline in the game.
I haven't read all xx pages of this thread but skimming a few, I AGREE with those that are disappointed. I'm f'n pissed, I keep telling Sony or PD or whoever can actually start some changes that they better wake the **** UP!

I bet in 2 years time the other brand will surpass PD's offerings. Why? Because they have people that listen to their majority market share, not one guy who from what I've seen seems to be making all the decisions even if the big wigs at Sony sometimes tell him what to do.

Great point. And I definitely agree that GT5s career lacks compared to previous editions. But in the end, since I like playing GT5, it's hard for me to agree that needing to play more is a bad thing.

Perhaps I should have been more clear. I was actually referring to the race cars and any future race cars PD might make available as DLC, not to every little thing that PD will put as DLC.

Sorry if repeated, but darn, these threads just grow so fast.
I always encourage new additions that PD enforce, but for the love if it, why are there always niggling issues with some of them.

My only problem is the online lounge additions.

Why breakdown types of cars to use, but not allow us to change pp, weight or hp restrictions. Last night I choose Ferrari cars only, but anyone can use any ferrari car with any kind of mods hp or weight. I never like it when it has to come down to honesty, coz this is a game, and people don't care if they cheat a little.

Also, why make life difficult with "prohibit tuning" function. Don't get me wrong i love this function for stock car races, but we have now got to buy all these cars again and leave them stock. Couldn't they just allow us to use Sheet setting C, and change the car to completely stock and save it that way?

The last thing is add another breakdown, like Road Cars only, and add another folder for stock cars so we know which cars we actually have that is still in it's stock state. It will be a nice addition to the Christmas update.

I agree. Personally I don't get the "ownership" philosophy all that much anyway. At least, make exceptions to it if they benefit the experience.

I'd like to make any car I select for use on a track in my room work like a "recommended" car.
So if I pick my track day mx5/miata and my track day mr2, then everyone joining can use one or the other and choose its colour, perhaps within a selection of my choosing. I limit setup options and tyres, of course.

Or I could offer my range of historic race cars which I have balanced to similar lap times and a guest just picks whichever one they'd like to drive.

It's not like there is a finite number of all these cars, and you'd still have to buy and modify the original. Just let us do what we want with them online!

I can't even bring myself to buy this game partly because of this site and just because it seems like PD and the creator cared too much about a vision vs. actually releasing a finished game.

Don't get me wrong I got dreams too, but if you know you can't do it then don't. The whole kart racing it might be fun, but according to a lot of people this was meant for GT6 and not 5. Not to say I won't enjoy(if I ever bring myself to buy it), but it's just there are so many fails with this game that it isn't even fun.

I will say as a side note I'm not the hardcore simulator fan, but GT for me was a fun game to play I learned about a lot of cars that I've never heard of, and even some race tracks never seen before(I do know some are fake of course). As an example some people like the real world tracks(which I do too) I just like the fantasy tracks more

This recent spec 2.0 doesn't even feel 2.0 even when I read some of the features it didn't make me want to jump at buying the game.

The way GT4 was I was expecting something on a grander scale and size. Yeah Physics and Graphics are awesome, but after a while I don't give a well you know.

My only thing I want them to do get rid of the leveling system and give me a career mode at least on par with GT4(number of races).

If they introduce some balance changes between street cars and the performance points system I'll probably give it a shot. But without those changes there is no point for me to play the game anymore. Tired of skilled drivers using the cars that can only be beat by the same car, then boating about winning with unbalanced cheese.
