Nice to see you've solved the problem, but as you said you had more cars on website than ingame, i did not consider this solution (i think you wrote the opposite of what you wanted to)

I've just set up a quick "cars by country" info on myPage (it combine Premium and Standard). That's ugly, made in a few minutes, but will help to do the job for tracking difference between ingame and website garage.

The car list is still missing some cars like the Plymouth Prowler is not listed, yet I know it's in game as I own one, and I seem them occasionally online.

I mainly played B-spec, and was indeed very annoyed to go in the race menu to see i don't have the right tyres and then have to go back in parts shop, that's why i've set a "tyres" column in the event list ;-)

Well I certainly appreciate it!

If you're talking about the Chrysler Prowler '02, it's in the car list. The car list is, i think, 100 % complete ; every rare message i received in the past weeks about missing cars were due to difference in website name / in game name of the car or due to users who forget to reset the website filters :)

Why aren't the percentages showing up any more?

The Rarity indicator is back, in a new form : each car is ranked from 1 to 10.
1 = common car. 10 = very rare car.
The 10% most owned cars are ranked 1, the next 10% ranked 2, and so on until ranked 10 which mean the car is among the 10% less owned cars (currently around 105 cars).

nice i like this system better, also glad to have it because it was one of the main reasons i wanted to use your site apart from tracking my cars lol.

What happened to the car worth bit.
The bit that told you how much all your cars are worth?

I also went looking for this today, prompted by that thread in the main section. Would be nice to see it back - was there an issue with it?

First off i love the site. ill join soon and add my cars. But i have a query and im sorry if it has been bought up already.

Can i ask how the Power to Weight ratio is calculated? I noticed that the CLK-GTR Race Car '98 has Power 824 HP and Weight 1000 kg but the Power/Weight is 615 W/kg. I know by an online calculator that 824 hp is roughly 614.5Kw . So what im thinking is it Kw/T instead (where Kw is kilowatts and T is tonne or 1000kg).

Ok i just checked the Formula GT as well. With Power 936 HP and Weight 550 kg You have the Power/Weight at 1269 W/kg.
Now 936hp is 698Kw that then divided by .55 is your 1269Kw/T (where T is tonne or 1000kg).

So i have 2 question. Why have you changed it from HP to Kw when HP is the quoted power figures? Is the heading correct?

Edit:- Now that i have signed up i have the option to choose the power type displayed. But when your a guest on the site i assume you don't??

@everyone
I've just added a "trading advisor" page, which shows all cars that only one among two garage's owner owns.
The link to it can (only) be seen when you visit the page of another user while being connected yourself to the website. (and then ou can't miss it)

@shaneth about power/weight

You have to be a registred user to set chosen unit format, indeed.

I choose to use Watts and Kilogrammes because there are part of the simple, smart and logical international unit system.

@dabest2500 about worth of garage
This info will come back soon.

Ok i see what you have done now. Personally i think it would make more sense in Kw or HP and either per tonne or kilogram, as when car figures are quoted and power to weight ratios done i have never heard of Watts (as a unit of measure) being used. But hey thats just my personal preference. Thanks for the quick reply. And fantastic site.........:)👍

Milouse,
BIG thanks for your work! Looks cool

Suggestions:
1. Shall we see a "rarity" column in carlist database? Right now I see it only on "my page", so i can't determine what rarity is of missing cars
2. Possibility of sorting by "rarity" on "my page"
3. Please add a column to carlist where user will write a quantity of the same cars he/she has. If user has 1 car of concrete type (maker/model) a cell of this column will visually be empty, but if user will write manually to this cell another number...OK?

1 & 2 = i've just changed the car list, there is now a column "R*" for Rarity, you can click to sort cars.
3 = that's an other story...

The trading advisor is brilliant! Bravo!👍

btw... the rarity of a car... how exactly you rate a car as rare or not?
Cause honestly i cant find anything rare to my marked "10" cars.

Edit: This 2 cars
DENSO DUNLOP SARD SC430 '08
PETRONAS TOM'S SC430 '08
are tagged as 9, and you can buy them new.

I think it's rated through how many people own it.

Sorry to say, but the rarity system is wrong.
Actually is a "most owned car" statistic.

That most people doesn't/wont buy a car cause for e.x. is rubbish or expensive it doesnt makes it rare.

Ummm.,.. actually it may. If few people own it (for whatever reason) that makes it uncommon. If it is uncommon it is also rare. The indicator is not an indicator of how hard it is to get, which would be totally subjective based on many uncontrollable factors, such as:
You might say a Chapparal 2J is rare because you just can't go buy one from a dealer. Well one showed up in my Used Cars and I bought it so why is it rare? Any car in your Used Cars can be purchased. I might say its rare because not many people want to spend $15million on a car so not many own it. Maybe no one wants to spend that much on just 1 race? Maybe people don't like white cars?

Who's wrong? Who's right?

No one and everyone.

"most owned", less rare.

You give a meaning to the word rarity that it may have (valuable by its rarety), but doesn't by default.

Furthermore, when it comes to exchanging cars and tracking them to complete its collection, then website Rarity start to mean "valuable" too. :)

@Milouse
Is more of a statistic, and to be more accurate, to people that use this specific site.
Valuable by rarity cant be a car that you can buy at any given moment from the New Car dealership.
e.x. Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z '07 26,200Cr Rarity Level = 8
If next thursday PD adds an event with this care the web page (garages) will be full of this car.
The rarity will go to zero from 8 in blink of an eye. If it was indeed rare that wouldn't be possible.

Love your site, very useful (especially whith the 1billion skylines and 2 billion mx5's lol), and the trading advisor is a one million worth button!
keep up the good work! :)👍

@RUFFSTUFF
You said your self "uncommon", not rare.

The bottom line is this,
Rare = Hard to find. Not hard to buy (expensive) or something for people with (for some) odd taste.

"This is the Gran Turismo 5 cars database (cars list). 100% of cars are present, 98% are illustrated on their page, where datas corrections can be submitted"

WOHOO!
Almost 100%!

I just thought of an idea.
May be something that calculates the money we need left to buy all the other cars we don't have?

Don't think that would work considering there a very many cars that you can win, buy form a dealer, buy from used, or buy from online... the prices from the used and online vary with mileage, so not much in the way of fixed pricing...

Buy/Sell price stats are now back on Player's page, and i'm currently working on something that is close of what you think of. :)

The cars that you win can also be bought.
The used car prices can be based on the prices set in the database.
So a very close estimate.

For it I copy-paste pre-filtered car list to Excel, then I autodelete somethings and after that I have a sum :)

I want mygranturismo.net to be the ultimate website :D

And I'm looking forward to that new feature :D
