REMOVED BY MOD the 'ultimate edition' is just the french translation on collectors edition, and as the euro is rubbish it cost's 168 EUROS, not dollars.

it's the same thing.

also, all pre orders should come with the E3 GT5 demo, without time limits.

it just sounds right to me.

Woah man, easy on the insults. There is bound to be miscommunication when dealing with translations, it comes with the territory.

Dear Ed. There is GT5, then there is GT5 collectors, then there is GT5 ultimate.

I am still suspicious of the Ultimate edition. The fact that there is no cover picture makes me think it is a mistake or something. Why would we not have heard about it from anywhere other than only the french amazon?

I dunno, I was just pointing out it does exist and I hadn't just read it wrong. Amar said there was 2 versions, perhaps the ultimate one has free DLC for ever.

I can't pre order my one yet, as its not announced here in New Zealand. If there isn't a collectors edition well I'll just buy the general edition.

Yeah same here, i doubt we'll get anything special here in NZ, just the game.

We usually get the same versions that the Uk gets, so there should be one.

One question did GT4 come as a collectors edition with a die-cast white GT as in the opening video for GT4?

Limited edition = The number of people that order the limited edition. There was never any doubt that you would get one. The only game i've seen for a good while that people have not been able to get ahold of in limited editions when pre-ordering is COD Mod 2 with the night vision.
Red Alert 3 had only 10000 Premier Editions, though I don't think that even all of those were pre-ordered.

I don't think Kyosho could accommodate a liquid number of those custom cars either. I think the number must be set.

A quick note: After checking Kyosho's site, I found that that GT-R model is over a $40.00 value alone.

60 for the game + 40 for the car = free key chain, book, 5 car dlc, and the cool box. Weeeeeeee. I feel like Eric Cartman and want to be cryogenicly frozen until the game comes out

I actually got a RA3 PE here, bought it months after release. Limited Editions usually don't go that fast.

I think I read somewhere that there would only be 25000 CE versions, but I don’t know if that was world wide or not and something tells me that they will go before Nov. 2nd

From what I understood, the special cars will merely have special paintjobs and performance updgrades over the standard ones.

Yeah if people are just buying it for the cars, they will probably get released as DLC later just like the psp version. Hell they gave away those cars.

If the UK does'nt get the CE, is it safe in ordering from GameStop's site? I mean do they ship overseas?

According to the content manager on the EU playstation blog, some guy is expected to post some details about GT5 specifically for Europe, and announce our special edition in one or two weeks. So I'd wait until mid-July before doing anything.

Europe will probably get a 'tard car as the bonus in the CE version, seeing how PD like to split things into "Premium" and "Standard"...

Seriously? You are this immature?

Why does it have to get bought up in every thread, its ridiculously daft now.

I really hope we get the same deal on the CE, and same release date, I wanna book my week off of work but I dont wanna jump the gun from the 2nd November just yet.

I'm gonna skip on the CE. I hate key chains, I doubt that there is anything in that book that I don't already know, I don't care about owning cars in-game with special liveries, I already have 4 GT-R models, and I stopped liking boxes when I was 7. The set looks nice, but just doesn't do it for me. Besides, $100 is a lot for a poor collage student, I need to eat too.

agree, but for different reasons. special cars will be available release day and i really dont like the GT-R. to me, its not worth 100 dollars.

Eating is overrated. I know I've made "silly" purchases in the past and ended up living off beans / rice / peas whatever for a month or more. I managed six years of studentdom, too - fairly well seasoned (or is that pickled?)

Anyway, most of the currently announced, US-spec Collector's Edition doesn't appeal to me. It's whether or not we see a proper "premium" version which covers more than just 5 additional cars - I want the full shabang: tracks, cars, features; all "for free" if I buy a special version of the original release.

I hear that. If you could get free DLC with the set, I think I could stand to get by on pork-n-beans for a week or two.
