Like GT PSP, Polypony is marketing by giving away exclusive cars when you order from a certain retailer. Gamestop has revealed its 2 exclusive cars;

The Mclaren F1 Stealth Model (similar to the Mercedes SLS stealth model)
And Joey Lagono's #20 Nationwide GT5 paint scheme NASCAR car

Here's the link- http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75118

That Nascar gamestop one is actually a good idea.

Yes, however, I don't believe it's a real car. I think PD made it. (unless they have yet to run it in the nationwide series yet) However, that wouldn't make any sense either as the car sports the Sprint Cup logo, not the Nationwide.

And the price might hint at a price drop for the PS3.

It's definitely not that. Sony just confirmed no price drops on PS3. Why would they? We had 2-3 month long PS3 shortages and they are finally making profit on the console.

We've know this for a week or two.

I know this question might have been asked before, but I really don't have the patience to look in 20+ pages for the answer.

So I was wondering, in all the websites I look for the collector's edition pricing, all say $100 but for what we are getting compared to other CE versions of games I think that is a bit overpriced. For example, the Ultimate Edition of God of War 3 came with replica of Pandora's box, the game (of course), soundtrack, exclusive in-game content, and a full-length movie documentary about the series.

That's a whole lot more than a 300 page book, game and a couple of cars.

So my question is, has the price of $100 been officially announced by Sony or PD or is this just a guess from online and retail stores?

Well if PD released the book separately id be will to spend 40+ for it, like I did for the Uncharted 2 book.

So that plus whatever else they put in it, ill be a happy camper. So whatever floats your boat they say.. Im more interested in the book.. love the description too "In-depth 300-page car-lover's guide written by the experts at Polyphony Digital, covering everything from the history of the modern automobile to driving techniques and game reference material"

If they sell everything in the CE separately, it would come to about $150. $100 sounds better to me.

The $100 price tag is official: http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5232.html

The current price of GT5 here in NZ is $129.99, just pre-ordered it at EB games for $10.

Asked the staff if they know about GT5's collectors edition and they said yes, but he/she said that there's two edition of it.

1. Standard Collectors Edition
2. Ultimate Collectors Edition.

They're not sure what the price of both will be at but have to wait till gamescom for that to be confirmed for PAL territories.

Also asked the staff the date of GT5 but confirms the exact date is due on November 2010.

They have guessed the date of Aus/NZ GT5 release date at: 4 of November 2010.

I'm 90% sure thats the release date of it here in NZ.

Still patiently waiting for a UK release date and confirmation of content details for the standard, collectors and ultimate editions. Will without a doubt go for the collectors edition assuming we get the same or similar content to the US version.

Like a lot of people I'm very curious as to what the 'ultimate' edition will contain, maybe the rumours of an updated version of the DFGT wheel are true, that would make a great package, not sure what else they could put into it tbh to justify the (again rumoured) high price tag?

As with everything GT related we're just going to have to wait, I certainly will be before putting my hard earned down anywhere.

My guess: They took the Nationwide paint scheme, which changes the featured game regularly, and stuck it on a Sprint Cup car with GT5 featured just for this promotion. Basically, it will be a non-game changing way for everyone that pre-ordered to show that fact during online races.

Honestly, while it wasn't announced that Gamestop would get an extra pre-order car I wasn't exactly surprised when I saw it. And I would not be surprised to see the Nationwide car sporting this exact paint scheme somewhere from mid-October (Charlotte or Gateway) through the end of the season on November 20th at Homestead. I at least expect to see it November 6th at Texas, as that is the track PD went to last year in their NASCAR documentary and is the race immediately following the game's launch.

Ultimate the same as the standard collectors edition but Kaz personally delivers it to your house, if your lucky he might even stay for tea and a quick lap round the Nurb...

Hey he could be the ultimate edition.

I hate to get my hopes up, but I REALLY wouldn't mind a DFGT with metal pedals. Maybe special edition colors/logos. Gosh that'd be great!

Perhaps the ultimate edition will contain the game, the book, the car model, the DFGT and a PS Eye.

I dont know where you are from, but for the price of $200, i doubt it will/would contains as many thing as you listed...

The other choice would be an All-white-PS3 special edition for GT5 bundle with the game...
that would be one cool package!

I was wondering if the rumored new special edition (indian interview) could be something like a package of GT5 + all previous remastered GT versions. Maybe the retro video is a hint.
Just a thought.

Just got back from Gamestop, where I changed over to the CE. Now I just have to wait to get the cool little GT-R, and whatever else there was.

Possibly old news but Amazon in the US now have the CE for pre-order. I just cancelled my original order and placed a pre-order for the Collectors Edition $99 and free shipping (hey, after five years waiting I'm in no hurry :-))

I just pre-ordered my copy of the collectors edition today at gamestop, and i cant wait until November. My ps3 wont be getting any rest for a very long time, lol.

I will be grabbing the best pack available in Aus, The books that come with GT are always fantastic with loads of car info. Bring it.
