Way too expensive for me, my only hope is that is released in Canada for 180 USD so i can buy it in ebay for that, someone knows if is going to be released there?

It seems like im going to get the collectors instead of the signature but i would love to put my hands over the wallet and the key chain.

Does anyone knows if I will be able to purchase all cars via DLC or anything like that? I do not want to buy 10 copies for all the cars to collect. Usually when a game comes out with CE version and extra stuff, after a couple of months other players may purchase that extra stuff via DLC, I hope GT5 will be the same.

Damn, it's still up and I have enough money.. Still, 200 dollars for the Signature Edition and probably more to import it, dang I can spend the money instead on the Playstation Move..

Hmm... Decisions.. lol

The North American CE is still better priced than the EU versions.

Hmm... Don't need a wallet, (have a Louis Vuitton wallet) keychain I'll probably never use, tin box which is of no use, the model car which is kinda awesome and a coffee stand book and the awesome stealth cars...

Ahh so hard to decide!!! lol

Seems like they're charging a ******** because of the competition which is of no use to anybody outside of Europe... Damn this sucks.

Hopefully, they announce something for us Americans. lol

Game are showing an image that states 11 in-game cars which would indicate you get the 5 chrome line cars PLUS the other 6 shown as "retailer specific incentives".

Oh, sorry I didn't realise that. I would say it would be unlikely they would sell them as DLC down the line because there would have to be some benefit to owning the signature edition (ie. the carbon fibre cars). But seeing as the US is not getting a signature edition they may release them as DLC down the line for your territory?

GT PSP released them all later for free.

Think you're looking at it the wrong way. SE, at least from GAME, seems to just include all the pre-order bonuses in one place (the Stealths). They aren't unique to the SE. Actually... no cars are. Well, maybe the 787B and R10, since neither has been mentioned elsewhere yet.

Plus, if it's like GT PSP, pre-order bonus cars will be available a few months later.

I can't believe the rush to buy SE's on here. What a spectacular waste of money, imo. The NTSC CE made sense to me because I can see where the extra money comes from (GT-R model, book, etc). The SE is basically the same, with a different car model, a wallet, and an entrance into a competition there is only one prize for. Oh, and a tin... for... something. Can't knock PD's knowledge of their fanbase and how easy it must be to make some money!

Two things:
1. Isn´t it a little bit expensive for 5 toy cars, a book a wallet and 11 in-game cars? For me it is...

2. The 11 DLC special pre order Cars:
When they are available from the start, which is the case in all pre order dlc´s would it not ruin the GT experience? You know, start from the scratch with a VWpolo...
Is this going to have an effect on the online play like dlc car is going to be the faster and better?

I believe in-game cars don´t mean they are already in game (to buy or win) they are just cars for the game not physical cars!

DLC cars have performance mods apparently (well, the chrome-lines), but if they follow PD's previous history, they're going to be classified as separate from their stock counterparts. So they won't offer any advantages in, say, a spec M3 race, because PD would probably limit it to just the normal M3.

As for more open races... can only go on assumptions, but I assume restrictions will be in place. If there's Performance Points again (only to represent a car's basic performance depending on installed parts), I would assume the chrome-lines would just have a higher PP.

As for giving the user an unfair advantage starting GT Mode... yeah. But I know I won't be using mine until I'm further along the game and could buy something comparable anyways.

It's like that with all fan articles.
Since I can't travel somewhere, don't need to buy a lot of clothes, don't/can't drive a car, I spend my money on the few hobbies I have. I love GT and I think it's worth it, although it is indeed a lot of money, but you won't get it cheaper anyway.

And on a related note, the Limited Edition cars for Forza 3 were also later released as a DLC.

And that went down like a lead budgie.

Imagine the stink when the £150 owners find out there releasing their se cars.
I wouldn't like it one bit, after I'd laid out £150.
Which I'm not going to do anyway but.....

To the guys from the US and anywhere else that cant get the SE, why not just buy it in from another country? Thats all i was going to do if they didn't offer the CE in New Zealand, but turns out were getting all the editions here so thats great, but iv only pre-ordered the CE.

This.

Also you could thrash them about in arcade mode without needing to buy them, so you could try high performance cars right from day 1.

But who, that's going to buy either the CE or SE is going to do that on day 1?

Probably not me...

Hm.. I don´t like this pre order stuff. The Cars are on the disc already and will be activated with a code. So it is only good for the big sellers like amazone ebgames and so on, the small sellers go down with this kind of merchandise. Same goes for dlc which is available from the start it´s all about the money.

So basically for me it´s 1000 cars, 6 more or less won't hurt.
And a wallet? I have one....it´s empty ;)

Btw. are the cars premium or standard?

Hm... What do I take?

GameStop's pre-order bonus of a McLaren F1 Stealth model, and a Joey Logano's #20 NASCAR Nationwide series car.

Or...

Best Buy's pre-order bonus of an exclusive stealth version of the Nissan GT-R GT500 race car.

I know GameStop is offering 2 cars, but I couldn't care less about the Nascar. :/

The Signature Edition seems like quite a rip to me. You get a flash drive, a tin case and a wallet (Edit: Oh, and a book), but it costs that much more than the U.S. Collectors Edition?

Uh... because... why?

The SE costs double what I'm paying for my CE, comes with all of the Stealths instead of only certain ones (but I'm thinking they'll be available as DLC later a la PSP anyways), a wallet, and what's essentially a lunchbox. None of that strikes me as worth an extra $100. Oh, and then the shipping and likely duty charges, so well over $100. (EDIT) Woops, forgot, a USB stick! Such value!

And the SLS prize would be out of my reach anyways since I'm not living in any of the countries taking part in the competition.

Another drawback would be having to create a European PSN account if I want any future updates or DLC. That doesn't affect me much, but I imagine for people with a lot of stuff tied to their current accounts might take issue.

It's a brilliant marketing move though; that SLS prize is going to be easily paid for by people eager to buy these Signature Editions. And probably provide PD and/or Mercedes with some sort of extra profit as well.

+4 DLC cars and a chance to win an SLS,(which is a good competition since they wont sell too many Signatures)

But compared to the EU CE it gets all that plus a model car and a keyring.

Awesome, will pre-order my one at Eb games. :)

I'll just post what I said in the comments section of the news post.

Wow.
I love how they gave Americans the time trial demo, but with no access to the GT Academy, yet they’re giving us a scale model of that 370Z. Here, they rub it in our faces again with yet another competition that excludes America AND a better special addition. Just make it available in America for ****s sake.

Just Ordered my copy from game.co.uk

i know its £150, but after seeing/playing it on Sunday at the Playstation Beta Event it was a bit of an easy thing to do 👍

I'm sorry I LOVE GT as a series and the time trial demo was close to driving nirvana in a game.... but for the price of the Sig Edition I'd rather buy a Wheel stand for £99 and the standard copy of the game
Really wanted the Sig and would of paid £100 - 120 tops
£150 is just too much

You guys already have the "Collectors Edition".

Thats already good enough. ;)

I have to agree on this,is huge expensive and for true Gran Turismo fans is rather a huge business to make from a basic stuff,I mean a usb for $100 USD,that is just madness and a key chain for keys of a car that you probably don't have(well in some cases), I can say that the CE edition make sense but this is out of the scale(of prizing ).

It's just one toy car, and an orange one at that.
