GT5 - Collector's Edition

Just ordered of amazon uk.
Never ordered a game online before.
What's the chance of getting it a day or two early lol.
Btw I went for the fastest delivery option.

I have ordered many games online and when i've ordered from play.com, Shop to I have always recieved the game 1 day before release. Have to say though based on comments in the past I think with Amazon you get the game on the release day.

Personally I would recommend Game.co.uk at the moment as play.com only has collectors edition and shop to standard version.

I have had the game come early from Game.co.uk they usually ship AAA titles even earlier so i've recieved games 2 days earlier from them (AAA that is, normal games usually a day before). But shopto is usually 2 days before release. Well for me anyhow. Amazon deliver nearly always on release day for me.

I Pre-ordered Gran Turismo (PSP) last year from play.com and it came 4 days late. So I bought it on the release day from GAME and gave the one I ordered to my brother.

Yeah Play because they are based in Jersey can be a pain.. I've had stuff come a day early to a week late from them...

Don't worry man, I've been buying games off amazon (uk) for over 2 years now and they usually come the next day from when they where posted...

The real bummer for me is that wifey is spawning our first child right around the release date.

I'm going to see what the doctors can do to delay for a couple of months.....

Wow.
I love how they gave Americans the time trial demo, but with no access to the GT Academy, yet they’re giving us a scale model of that 370Z. Here, they rub it in our faces again with yet another competition that excludes America AND a better special addition. Just make it available in America for ****s sake.

America still had a Time Trial Competition. It wasn't as awesome as GT academy, but we still had one.

Thats quite a dissapointment because we have to pay so much more if we want a GT special model car. I also like the GTR more.

The US collectors edition costs roughly £62 and that has the GTR.
The EU collectors edition costs £60... so for £2 more you get the model!

It isn't as if US vs UK/EU price discrepancies are new. I know Rock Band's Special Edition had a huge price discrepancy. I have no clue what kind of taxes and whatnot may have gone into this, but it is quite possible the cost was out of Sony's hands and they were just trying to make sure you still had a similarly priced option to the US, even if they had to sacrifice some content.

This is bloody stupid. Each version is exclusive to different retailers in the UK and they have different bonuses. I wanted the Chrome Edition cars and a 'Stealth' car. I thought that was the deal.

Normal Edition - available at ShopTo, GAME, Gameplay and Gamestation OR an exclusive version is available at Play.com that does come with a 'Stealth' car pack which includes* the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and the Nissan GT-R GT500 OR an exclusive version from Amazon that comes with two Stealth cars, the Maxda 787b and McLaren F1.

ditto! This happened a few times when I have preordered games through Amazon (north america). So I decided to stop using the Amazon service for these items.

I preordered the CE through Gamestop. How are they for prompt delivery of new releases (north america)? anyone?

I just changed my collectors edition to signature edition.

No it hasn't changed. How could it have changed when it was never officially announced for anywhere but the USA? We are still getting the GT-R die cast.

Do we have an EU release date yet? Surely if the retailers know which editions they will be stocking then they know when they will be able to ship them?

I'll be getting the standard game, and ill be getting it from shopto, cheapest retailer and they'll deliver 1 day maybe 2 before the release

Sony have been telling us and the retailers november, they also said in the PS EU blog comments the exact date will be given shortly. I read that as Gamecom.

Yup, just like gamespot.com has the F1 and that nascar thingy, PLAY seems to have the gt-r and SLS.

I pre-ordered the CE at my local Gamestop. I had planned on pre-ordering it on Amazon or similar website, but I kept seeing on their site that it would be shipped on release day, but it did not say a definate delivery date, so I didn't chance it, and pre-ordered locally so I could pick it up myself. I did have to pay $10 tax getting it locally, but it is worth it to me to be able to play on release day.

Bring on November 2. I am going to take a couple days of work.
