Back Ordered - This product is currently not in stock, however your order and payment will be processed when we receive more product. After an order is processed, the time of delivery is determined by the shipping method. See the "Shipping" section for shipping methods and delivery times.

It doesn't give any more details. Fingers crossed that it will ship! I ordered it on 6/20/2010
 
I have the same "Backordered" status for CE, its also from Gamestop (Canada) it means that they don't have in stock yet, according to their website descriptions on status.
 
Yeah, my GT5 CE pre-order at GameStop (US) went from Pre-Ordered to Backordered over the weekend. I pre-ordered months ago... I'm hoping it'll still be shipped tomorrow (I have overnight selected), but it doesn't look good imho. 'Luckily' I'm going away for Thanksgiving, so if it doesn't ship tomorrow I'll just go buy a regular version on the way home Sunday and cancel the CE...

Yes, I pre-ordered my CE in store, so I'm guaranteed to get it on the 24th with an in-store pick up.

My order says backordered and they have already taken the 109.49 out of my checking acct, so their description above is somewhat misleading.

my gamestop CE order also says backordered. it is supposed to ship with free overnight shipping. Hopefully I get a tracking # soon.
 
Hey all, first post here. Looking forward to GT5

I pre-ordered Collectors Edition as well from Best Buy(over night shipping too of course)

Did anyone get an email saying it shipped out yet? I am dying to get the e-mail...
 
To everyone who is getting their preorder from gamestop. Calm down! They don't start shipping the game until the actual release day of the game. So you probably won't be getting the game until next week or so depending on whether your copy is express or standard shipping, but either way you won't get it until next week.

Yeah I was going to say that. The problem here is Thanksgiving. Even if they did overnight it on the 24th, you arent getting it the next day.

I dont online order through gamestop. Id much rather use someone very reliable who does actually have release day delivery like amazon.

It's not worth $100 to me, that's why I canceled my CE and got the regular version. I'm only regretting it a small bit cause of missing out on the APEX book. I'll get over it.

No, GS had release date delivery. I know cause when I ordered in june when I picked OVERNIGHT, it showed NOV 2nd as the delivery date. However if you ordered with normal shipping, you won't get it til the following week.

No, GS does offer Release Day Shipping. But in the past I've run into the problem that the "release date" is in fact the "Shipping Date." But stores are holding Midnight releases. Plus I've heard GameStops have been getting their CEs at the stores. But if they don't have my copy in on the 24th, there happens to be a Wal-Mart and Best Buy within walking distance of their store.

gamestops website on the main page says "now shipping, gran turismo 5 collectors edition with bonus." Thought they were sold out?? It will let you add it to the cart.
 
I ordered mine through Target. On PS's website, they don't show Target having a CE edition, but once you burrow through the layers they do have CE copies. The do not look like they'll be having a special midnight sale, but they do confirm after ordering that the estimated delivery date is on the 24th. Also, I'm testing the theory of elimination. The other 4 vendors that were suppose to have a stealth car were shown on PS's website, that included Target. We know who's carying the other stealth models except Target. I'm guessing the stealth 787b is in this package. If not, then I'll just enjoy the game as is.

Got this "Backordered" status too...Collector's Edition Gamestop (Canada)...and I pre-order on june 9:tdown: I guess its not gonna be this week:ouch:
 
I went to 2 Gamestops today in Miami, Fl...and they both said that they have the Standard Edition in the back room, but the CE will most likely arrive on the 23rd.

Could you link to the CE at target?

I had hopes for the 787b there also but they said they were not participating when I E-mailed them. If I find out they are and they were giving out the 787b I'm going to be majorly pissed.
