Well, actually what people were complaining about was the absence of Ferrari-Porsche-Lamborghini, because the exotics were there in GT4 (Pagani, Saleen, Callaway, etc.)

Anyways, I'm translating what John said, it's not my exact opinion.

not gobs, but at least ~120hp and a decent platform, like i stated in the first post

Actually, you stated 140hp.

But I ask again - if you NEVER drive them, how can you know they aren't fun to drive? You've clearly stated both things and they are mutually exclusive.

i've driven the ones that were necessary to win races, and never drove them again "for fun".. i did drive the classic ones that had under 140hp, like the S2000's predecessors s500 and s600, those were pretty cool

to answer how i could know that it wouldnt be fun, well that's pretty simple. either i had to drive them for a race and wasnt impressed, or they were just ugly (imo) and underpowered so i had 0 inclination to drive them. i like to drive cars in the game that i would like to drive in real life, so ya, i will be more drawn to cars that are more intense (not too heavy, MR, 150hp+) and which dont take 15 seconds to get to 60mph

I'm thinking the cover will feature a ferrari, as it is highly prestigious, and confirmed car mfg. company new to the GT series, They have been putting it in our faces since gthd.

ähhm, the S2000 has 250ps and i think its the same as horsepowers. if yes, the S2000 has 250 hp

Make your next post in StreetRacer77's language - see how you cope with reading comprehension in a second language.

So, just to clarify... You haven't driven a bunch of cars because you don't like how they look, and this affords you the ability to say that they aren't fun to drive.

Here's a thought - drive them. THEN you can say whether they are fun to drive or not. You know, like the S500 and S600 which you did drive and thought were "pretty cool".

0-60mph time != fun to drive

ya i just realized that, sorry. i do understand german though :)

they cant be that different to drive if they have +- 30hp, same drivetrain layout, and similar weight

i understand youre sticking to your idea that you cant know something until youve tried, but i beg to differ, and i dont think you'll be able to convince me.. slower cars are only fun if you like the car itself, or the course is very tight where acceleration doesnt matter as much because you spend most of your time turning.. if its a course with long straights, why bother with a car that you'll have to drive in a straight line for 40 seconds.. my personal PREFERENCE is cars in the 150-400hp range, N2-N3 tires, those give me the most realism and driving pleasure on typical tracks (fast enough where you need to use your brakes a lot and worry about corner entry and exit speeds, and they're realistic sports cars that i could realistically have in the next 20 years) unlike 4/5 of the slower cars, which you can floor around 80% of a typical track

anyways, we've gotten way offtopic :sly:

i believe a ferrari will be on the cover, quite likely the f430

Some of the funnest cars in GT4 where the slow ones.

Apology noted and appreciated.

I don't agree.

My numbers say that if you exclude anything with less than 140hp, you exclude 152 cars from the game, which includes 6 race cars, almost all the MX-5s (or Miatas), the Honda Beats, the Cappuccinos, a couple of Skylines, the Triumph Spitfire, the Alfa Romeo Giulias, everyone's favourite AE86, a bundle of hot hatches (Polo, Lupo, 106), the Europa, the Mk3 MR2 and the Alpine A110.

Slower cars, as you put it, are exercises in conservation of momentum. You MUST keep your speed up through corners or you'll never get it back. This teaches you something you can take into the faster cars.

That aside, you can only say that a given car is fun to drive IF you've driven it. You can say it looks fugly by looking at it, and that it probably isn't fast by looking at the specs. But you can't say it's not fun to drive unless you actually drive it.

unlike 4/5 of the slower cars, which you can floor around 80% of a typical track

F1 cars spend upwards of 85% of a lap at full throttle...

MX-5 for me. :D

man you just dont give up huh? :)

out of this list, the cars that i like are the MR2, the skylines aaand thats about it

in regards to the f1 comment, come on you know what i implied, dont be so technical and look at everything word for word. f1 cars also cover a range in speeds and g forces that by FAR exceeds any other cars on a track, which translates to far more intensity than the cruise control feel of 100- hp cars.

however, you do make a good point regarding learning speed conservation on slow cars, that IS one helpful thing about them, you really learn the racing lines that way

Never.

And how many of the list have you driven?

The two Skylines on the list are fat, 1970s barges with no power - exactly the kind of car you said you disliked.

Never.

driven.. i'd say more than 60% of the sub-140hp category

The two Skylines on the list are fat, 1970s barges with no power - exactly the kind of car you said you disliked.

but they ARE skylines, and theyre pretty, so i drove them a few times, but they arent that exciting to drive i guess

probably the cars i drive the most are random MR cars similar to the NSX, or the M3, or RUFs

but they ARE skylines, and theyre pretty,

I'm sorry! Since when has a Skyline been considered a "beautiful" car compared to a good car like a Aston or Ferrari? Heck even a Alfa Romeo 147 is prettier than a Skyline.

Anyway, I think that the cover car for GT5 will be whatever is "hot" or whatever is new and has recieved a good reception in recent motoring reviews etc.

Should you believe a Ferrari will grace the cover of GT5 like I'm envisioning, you may well think about what Ferrari it will be. You can start with this link:

In response to CyborgGT (Post #78, the 250 GTO is one of my all-time favorite Ferraris. Don't know if it would be cool to see one on the front, though.

I would love to see an Aston Martin DB9R on GT5's cover.

It's exotic, it's a race car, it's a Gran Turismo.
Imho, it fits perfect to the GT-Idea.

This car must be on the gt5 cover!!!!

donkervoort_d8_RS06_manu-06_01.jpg

2006 Donkervoort D8 RS06 the fastest street/ tuned car of the world:nervous::scared:, he has an streetlicence, thats why he isn´t realy a racecar. infos from wikipediea

7:14,89 Min. he needs to finish a lap at nürnburgring nordschleife!!!!!!!!!:scared: the fastest time of the world for an street car!!!!!!!!:scared:👍 an he weights only 600 kg

well, although you guys say you dont like it, i would love for the nissian gt-r to be on the cover... if not than maybe a ferrari... or maybe even a 1965 ford mustang!!!

Meh....having an Aston Martin on the cover would only draw more negative comparisons with that other racing simulator....which already had one on the cover.

If there is one of there at all.

If there is one I'd like to see the Aston Martin One-77 on there.

I really hope that car is on the game. What do you guys reckon?

More Than Likely it will Be the Nissan GT-R.

After all, PD worked with Nissan On It and it's on the cover of Prologue. I wouldn't bet against it being on the cover of GT5 Proper.
