I think that 370Z looks cool. Can't wait to have it banging off it's rev limiter (Yes, I drive cars how they're meant to be driven the Rev limiter is there for a reason). the Demo is ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE FULL VERSION YOU BLOODY RIPPER!!

@ craste

"PD are absolutely shiite when it comes to promoting their products!!:"

emm, dtm , le mans , d1 full of gt stickers, gt academy, 50 milion owners of gt franchise, lots of proffesional racing press waiting to any news about gt, x100 more gaming press waitin, lot's of commertials even for gt prologue especially in japan...

i think it's a lot...

 not surprised how this thread turn out, there is always someone with a reason to complain and look for the negative not matter what, anyways looking forward to try the demo.

Well, people complaining have a point. Why should PD be treated differently than any other company? Because they've taught us to freak over the smallest confirmed info they gave us? If it's just for the Academy, then OK. But they state it's a demo. Imagine EA releasing a demo with 2 cars and 1 track. We would spit in their face for that. Compared to the lack of news over the last months this demo is a major event and I'm really looking forward to it (actually I'm overexcited). But that doesn't mean we don't deserve more for the 5 years of patience. And if they don't show us the damage, and other supposed to be in the final version features, than demonstration of what is this gonna be?

oh wow, 2 days not viewing GTP and look what happens :D, haven't had the chance to read through the thread yet, but does anyone have a word on the track yet?or is it going to be Eiger Nordwand again?

Chris

Enough what?

With the demo coming. 2 NEW CARS, a NEW TRACK and NEW PHYSICS. You are allowed to show some excitement that you're getting a demo. You've moaned for the last 5 months that we have nothing...

So I wonder if damage will be included or will we get the Skid-marks we have been crying out for?

How come this isn't on the official GT website?

PD are absolutely shiite when it comes to promoting their products!!

I can't help but have the feeling that it was never PD's intention to come with this special version for the GT Academy (or any demo version). I believe that PD wanted GT5 to be out by now and that the Academy would make use of the full game. But then GT5 got delayed, while the 2010 GT Academy was already being planned. The GT5 delay (if there really was one) would have been very frustrating for the Academy organizers and they might have pleaded/begged with PD/Sony to come up with a solution, which turns-out to be this demo version. :)

Hmmm... I think someone is one to something. This makes too much sense.👍

PD wanted to release GT5 for Christmas, but they've been held back by a number of reasons.

Sony theoretically may have wanted GT5 in time for Christmas, but not PD. If it was up to Kaz, GT5 would be in development forever. :sly:

But seriously, I now think March 2010 has been the release date for some time. Jordan said himself he knew about this Academy for some time, and nothing about it seems rushed together. It's all been planned out; with precise dates and stages set out neatly.

Whatever people think of this demo/competition, it's clearly not been cobbled together last minute. The EU Blog talks about the Academy being "part of our activities around the forthcoming launch of Gran Turismo 5", so I think March/April has been the release date for some time, and IMO it shows Sony are going treat GT5's release with great care and planning when it comes to marketing, release and by logical extension, its development as well.

Which is good for us, right?

I for one am excited! This is great news, and the best part is we can play the demo until release so that should at least keep us busy from time to time.

I would love a new track and also love the machines. This is something to look forward to! Go PD:tup:

Makes perfect sense to me.

I am excited I did not say i was not - i just wondered if we were to get skid-marks in this latest build.

Am I not allowed to say that?

Am I not allowed an opinion?

Am I being censored?

Can we only post 'we love PD ever so much' fluffy posts on here?

This forums a joke - 'Brown Nose PD or stay away' should be the strap-line for this forum.

if everybody in the world was like the people on here who cuss you if you want more we would live in a world without cars, planes and trains etc.

we'd still be sitting in caves around a camp fires cos it was 'enough'.

Well NO!! It's not enough we want and should get more than a poxy one track and 2 versions of the same car.

plus this is free to anybody with a PS3!!! - what about us mugs who forked out hard earned cash in a recession to play prologue??

Surely we should get the above update and a whole lot more??

Enough? ha, far from it we want a lot more.

Well I do anyway - i don't care about what everybody else thinks - hey you should be more like me too and don't worry about other peoples opinions - have you not got something interesting in your life to do other than have a pop at people with an opinion different to yours?

How very sad you must be.

Where (link please)? Where did 'they' state that it is a demo? I cannot remember reading that on any of the official sites. But I might have missed it (in which case I will humbly crawl back into my cave). As far as I know it is not a demo, I repeat: NOT A DEMO. It is a special version to allow for the 2010 GT Academy, which, as a side effect, will give us some insight into the progression GT5 has made compared to GT5 Prologue. If you want to call that a demo, fine.

Haven't you got enough?

Oh i get it now :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Skid marks like the ones when you don't wipe your bum properly.

Brilliant - so funny. You should really consider being a comedian you know mate - you have a real talant there - don't waste it OK.👍

Personal insults to how sad I am... careful ;). This 'we' you are referring to, actually should be 'I' ;) I don't worry about others opinions, and I'm very happy we get to test the new physics when competing for a place in GT Academy.

You don't even have the demo yet and you are already complaining and want more, some call it greed. You haven't even seen what they are giving us yet. We barley have any facts about what we are getting and still alot of unanswered question that we won't know until the 17th.

plus this is free to anybody with a PS3!!! - what about us mugs who forked out hard earned cash in a recession to play prologue??

Not sure I understand your point here? You want them to charge everyone who has not brought prologue? Sounds like a bad idea when apparently PD's marketing is already poor ;)

Hi Jack

My point is everybody should have this free GT5 taster 👍 but over and above that it would be nice that if you had a copy of GT5P already installed PD gave you something extra as well.

You know as a thank you for the support?

or simply because we are a bunch of greedy buggers who want want want.

Whichever really.

Have a good weekend sir.:)

I wonder how many realize that this demo is probably not going to showcase the final game? I'm sure it will have new physics, graphics and hopefully damage and sounds too but that doesn't mean they will be the same in the final game. We are talking about a 3-4 months gap here. A lot can be changed.

Haven't you got enough?

Well,well,well another member from bolton?

I hope its Spa, and what would be even better would be if Spa could be played in Prologue....with dynamic weather, livery editor and of course some really nice tree's.

I would be very surprised if the final code is not already 99.9% signed off and ready to go.

I reckon the next few months will be adding as many of the newest cars possible or planning how they can sneak another 12 months of development time in just to see if they can make it a bit more perfect.

It's a DEMO
This is stated on the official gran turismo web site, i quote.
"...until the demo is taken down in late January."

We dont deserve any more from them than what we got. We got GT5 Prologue and GTHD which is a lot more than any other company would give us.

They didn't really "give" it to you, you paid for prologue and I'm sure they made a hell of a lot of profit out of all the people who bought prologue. ;)

A "demo" with only 2 cars and 1 track doesn't really bother me... that's all you need to determine if the game is good enough to buy. Thats assuming it actually contains the features of the final game (AI, damage, etc etc).
