That sucks dude. Yes it will be playable as long as you download it in time. It will be up on December 17th up until January 25th, after that it will be taken off the PSN and you wont be able to download it.

Will this demo be professional physics only then? If they're using it to choose contenders for the GT Academy it should be.

GT
Once you dowload the demo it will be playable until the game ships right? And you can dowload it from the 17th untill the 5 of Januari or something right?

It will be available for download from the 17th of December until the 25th of January, once you download it you can play it until and after GT5 comes out, no limitation. :)

I am wondering if the demo already has the PSEye support kaz was speaking about. Would be nice to have a PSEye under the christmas tree then ;)

Would be nice if I could fast forward to next Thursday! Actually us Aussies will get it on the Friday (18th) cause our PSN updates every Friday...damn

Well to be fair, our 17th is like your 18th, kinda hahaha

I just received an email from PSN that had the following wording in...

From December 17, you could be following in the footsteps of GT Academy winner Lucas Ordóñez. Simply download the free and exclusive GT Academy Time Trial from PlayStation®Store and start registering your lap times. Your racing career starts here.

It then has a link to "find out more" that takes you to

But there isn't an article on there yet...

Underneath that is a "follow GT Academy on FB & Twitter"

1 week left, exciting stuff. I vote to have a countdown on the front page similar to the forzacentral forums...I know I know it's just a demo, but it's genuinely exciting

We keep hearing there could be one of two tracks, is it possible Europe will get the European track (Spa is it?)and NA will get Indy?

Anyone hear what's happening regarding a demo in Japan?

Our local ski resort has a count down on their website for opening day, that goes all the way down to milliseconds. 👍

If it stops snowing between now and then does it change?

I vote against a countdown counter for the DEMO because of the number of stupid people in this world. Just imagine all the idiots who will complain GT5 is 'delayed' because it didn't come out when the counter completed.

I doubt it. Otherwise, how would we compare against people from other lands? Besides, as long as it has curves, we should be happy.

Like people need an excuse to complain about GT5. Let 'em. ;)

I am disappoint

I heard the GT5 was for download for free and I can't do anything in the game except drive one car on one track.

Less than seven days now :)

But I'm nervous. This "new engine" could make or break the series.

Meh. The engine in Spec III GT5P was pretty damn good, and this will be an improvement unless Kaz suddenly went mental. "Better than pretty damn good" sounds OK to me.

I think it will be improved, a couple of the articles that mention they already play the TGS GT5 demo on Tokyo circuit claim that you can feel more of the car especially while braking, and that you will be able to tell difference within first lap that physics are more refined and improved. So yeah, we will even get the most up to date GT5 code build, so I can not wait

You're entitled to your opinion, but I feel that prologue was a stepping block from gt4 and as is would be an utter let down if it were actually full, completed gt5 physics.

I highly doubt there will be more than one track... the whole entire world will only get ONE track, let's not make it complicated and create jealous people, this sort of segregation could result in a Wolrd war...

That's called a test Drive... you wouldnt be able to go into a Chevrolet dealership and ask to test the ZR1 to do donuts and burnout, would you?
well i know what you are going to tell me already, a game is not the same thing as a real car, and i would give you that...
but my point, and i guess Kaz point is the same, he doesnt want to unveil and reveal too much before THE BIG DAY, he is confident that his work will please all of us... and therefore does not see the need to show everything now to us...
so be confident yourself that you will greatly enjoy this soon-to-come "GREAT SUCCESS"

What new engine?
An all new (or updated, I'm not quite sure) physics engine.

Here again, Do not worry my friend, Kaz would not be able to live himself if he was to release a driving physics engine that is half baked, especially since this is the number 1, and THE CORE of this game = the very heart of why he makes the GT series, not only for the prettiness, but primarily to recreate with as much high fidelity the car's reactions, ever since the first GT, where they started from scratch. GT5-P physics is great already, if not one of the best out there, but GT5 will be brand new and NOT the same as GT5-P, a better improvement. That would be MY own translation and understanding from reading between the lines out of the same information we all got...
i am confident that what we will be testing in exactly ONE WEEK will be awesome!!

GMTN said: Livery editor has been in there since the early days, so no need to speculate. Just because they haven't shown it doesn't mean its not there or they haven't been working on it.

👍 i agree, and hopefully what you said is really what it is...

Would Kaz be able to implement something as a Storefront by the release date??!!

I love GT5Ps physics and think they are the best we have experienced, but there are improvements to be made. Cars float on large jumps/bumps, and something that always bothered me was while doing a burnout and the wheel at full lock left, the car would go right.

I think the separate team might be able to, but they need to get a feel for the livery and sale of everything for GT5, and then I think they'll be able to add by GT6

That must have been a big disappointment to learn that it is not the entire game to be free for download. And then also to discover that all you get is one special section of only one track with just two cars of the same make. And on top of that, you only get to do time trail. Bummer, what a rip-off.

Btw, ever heard of the GT Academy? No? Well google a bit, and you will learn that you can thank the guys organizing the Academy for getting a taste of GT5 before the game comes out. Without the Academy there would be no demo what so ever. Of that I'm sure, as sure as that GT5 will come to us before GT6. Or so I hope.... :sly:

I'm not sure if you're being serious, but I was joking. I said that's what new threads were going to be once it comes out.
