I love how PD is paying attention to classic Le Mans racers. We've got the 330 P4 and Mark IV confirmed, might get the Daytona, and some believe that the Maserati Tipo 61 is in too! I'm ecstatic!

Nicely done that . The Cobra coupe was my favorite car on GT2 . Cheers to the classics.

Don't forget the XJ13 ( although it never actually raced ofcourse ), the Tipo 61 is just speculation for now ( as is that front-engined Ferrari racer ).
If it all turns out to be true we might get something resembling a actual period Le Mans grid......don't hold your breath however.

It would make sense if the 330 P4, Mk IV and Jaguar just were a preview of some of the classic racing cars making an appearance.

Not all non-syncronized have to be shifted that way. I have a face plated Tremec TKO that does not have syncros, because the face plated gears take place of the sycros, but I can flat foot shift (powershift) it at 8,000 rpms if need be.

Yes, but the point was "comon" manual H type gearboxes, with single clutch and no synchros, as in older cars.

Would be interesting to see pro manual mode depict the need to double clutch (or declutch to be precise) in those cars when using a controller with clutch pedal.

(from trying to shorten a description, we end up making a longer one, lol)

Same here. It's probably my favorite classic racer and I loved it in GT2, TDU, and FM3.
 
If PD could just get the sound of the GT40, correct i would be driving it the rest of my life! I know not on topic, but the sound it makes is just music to my ears!!

naw man, makes total sense, Canadians get shafted once again. Not only were we only allowed to play with just one car and one track so the line would move quicker, they only had 2 demo stations set up. It's the same demo as the ones from Best Buy NA. Oh well I guess better than nothing.

The highlight of the event was watching a group of people play Bohemia Rhapsody too funny, oh and I said hi to Jeff Rubenstein. He's like "hey, how are you" (do I know you???) hahaha

Actually there were 5 tracks: Indy, Tokyo, Rome, Toscana and Nurburgring. And although there were indeed 2 stations, one of them was in 3D but I din't fin dit very impresses to be honest. I waited in line for 1 hour and saw everyone play at Rome and then when I played, I changed it to Toscana and played it with the C4 Rally Car. It was pretty fun but I only got to play for 2 minutes and couldn't go back in line cause it would take another hour.
JUST 27 DAYS LEFT!!!

I think they were doing the cover shoot next to my office today. They had an older blue Lambo Murci, a blue Subi STi, a modded silver 370Z, a modded red Dodge Challenger, a red Mercedes SLS, and a #24 J. Gordon Cup Car.

If it was not for GT5, it was for some other PS3 game as there was a column with a PS3 logo on it.

My Tremec is also a "common" manual H pattern, with a single clutch and no syncros. My point was that it is not required to double clutch to drive a non-syncronized car. Under "normal" driving, it is best to atleast let the rpms drop before going to the next gear, but it is not required to double clutch (clutch, pull it out of gear, let the rpms drop a little, ease into the next gear and release the clutch), or you could just jam it into the next gear when clutched (like taking a bandaid off), but it will make a little clunk noise, but not grind. At high rpms, just leave your right foot on the floor, clutch, and grab the next gear, and it is like a hot knife through butter. Down shifting is a little different. I would blip the throttle, and jam into the lower gear (like taking a bandaid off), and that worked best for me.

I hope that is a mirrored image, because the driver is on the wrong side. All the other SLS videos seem to have it correct.

Oh dear, I was hoping they'd look more like the Lexus LFA that Gazoo Racing uses, which uses a different styling for the air intake at the backseat-window.. Oh well. Still a great car, had me smiling ear to ear when I saw the exhaust in the RedBull trailer.
 
Just played the GT5 demo and it was amazing! We are in store for something very special!
 
i find an excuse to go to walmart near every day just to take a stroll around Rome or Tuscany. the Rally is going to take a lonnng time to get used to. but im sure with a wheel it will be much easier.

The Gazoo racing LFA is made to conform with FIA GT regulation. While the the one for Team Tom's is for the Japanese Super GT's GT500 where the cars have more downforce hence the wider stance and more allowance for more modification to the chassis. Just look at the FIA GT Nissan GTR and the one for the Super GT:

Am I naive to think that the official GT site will bring some news in the coming weeks? It cannot stay this silent much longer.
 
The Super GT LFA is pretty radical. Doing away with alot of the curviness most racing cars have these days.

Are they just using the same V8 that the superGT SC430 cars use? I'm sure they didn't develop a new one.

That being said, I remember reading of rumours/speculation that the LF-A will indeed be replacing the SC430 next year as Lexus look to re-coup development costs by taking the LF-A racing wherever it can. If it's true, then I think it'll look even more wild than The-IC's renderings as SGT500 cars are practically wild silhouettes.
