Is it old news that there's a green and white racing NSX in that Top Gear article repeated twice?

Padding already?

SONY!

I need some good news.

I've had the worst week of my life, and to top it off today my £700 bike got stolen.

PLEASE SONY, GIVE ME ONE SILVER LINING BEFORE THE END OF THE WEEK.

:'(

Anyone notice GameStop put up the track editor video we've already seen? What's the point of taking it down, then putting it back up and acting like it's new. Sheesh.
Cause its four weeks from release.

Which is kinda sick IMO, because the way I see it it's Kaz's game and his game only.

As sickening as it is to know he can't control what he is or isn't allowed to say about his game, its business. Bottom line is he's the developer and Sony's the publisher so it unfortunately works that way (something I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to get used to once I start:indiff:)

Besides, if he told us anyway, without Sony's permission, what are they gonna do? Break the co-operation with him? Highly doubt that since GT is one of Sony's most important products...

Key thing is, GT is only one of them. Sony has plenty of other major titles important to them so GT isn't necessarily their only one.(unless it ends up becoming their only exclusive, then for their own good they'll won't hold him back).

Man that sucks, I hope you get it back in one piece.👍

I thought that was established when he said he missed his deadline by three days.

A lot of people said it was Sony firmware that needed updating. They said that was established. Was just a rumor I guess.

The reason Kaz's "I'm stamping them with my hands, look, see!" comment isn't convincing to me is that it comes at a good time for him to say that. He could just say that to get us off his back for a little while.

^Do that mean it is coming in november? :)

Is that new? (I mean, from a new issue? Or is the OPM from October?)

This is from October, from when the OPM GT5 review was postponed:

real deal or self made???

Chris

Sorry for the late reply!

As others have said It is real and is from PSM3 magazine that came out last week. Who knows if it has any relevance to the release date.

They're going to sue him for violating confidentiality contracts, and possibly in the works take full control of Polyphony Digital. You dont pull bitch moves on your boys.

Sony like all corporations cares about profits, GT1 could have been the best game ever ever (hypothetically) but if it didnt make dollars it wouldnt make sense, alot of games are crap but we keep on seeing them year after year, they make money.

Credit to Sony because they have a higher standard for games they put out.

But at the end of the day green means go.

And i get a feeling that Kaz is a sort of Primadonna for Sony, like he has alot of pull, gets things his way alot. 60 million dollar budgets arent easy to come by!

-Knock knock.

-Who's there?

-Sherwood.

-Sherwood who?

-Sherwood like a release date.

Two more cars can be Added. The Pebble Beach GT Award Winners:

2008 - Lamboghini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype (already confirmed to be in)
2009 - 1965 Alfa Romeo TZ2 (confirmed in)
2010 - 1952 Abarth 1500 Biposto Bertone B.A.T. 1

So...Yeah, I posted this a while ago in the Car List thread...and now we know two of these 3 cars are in GT5. Would it be safe to assume that the Abarth is also in?

Breaking News: to unlock X1 prototype (If this is posted already then okay)

source: http://www.autoweek.com/article/20101103/SEMA/101109948

Interviewer:

There's been a lot of build up to Gran Turismo 5, and one of the things you did was work with Adrian Newey on the Red Bull X1 Prototype. What do you have to do to get it in the game? Please don't say we have to complete 100 percent of the game before we get it.

Kaz:

Gran Turismo 5 has two different modes of play. One is the A-spec and one is the B-spec mode. In A-spec mode, you are the actual driver behind the wheel, and in B-spec mode, you are the director of a racing team where you nurture your drivers that race for you in the races. When you get to a certain level in either A-spec or B-spec, the X1 car will be available for people to try.

How's that breaking news? Reaching a certain level to obtain it is rather obvious isn't it?
Unless you meant the try part that is.

Yeah, should be Licence related...

So I'm guessing we can blame Motor Toon Grand Prix for the GT series infamous delays  ...

Auto Week: Sorry, but we have to get to this. Nov. 2 was the last release date for Gran Turismo 5. What's the reason for the latest delay?

Kazunori Yamauchi: It was really to adjust it so it would be perfect. The first game that I made was Motor Toon Grand Prix for the first PlayStation. The year and a half that it was in development, the last three months as the release date approached, myself and my staff were getting three hours of sleep a day to try and get the game done. Near the end, the people from Sony came to our development studio and told us it was good enough and that we could release it. At the time, I probably wasn't thinking very clearly, being as exhausted as I was, and I talked myself into thinking this was good enough and it went to release.

But all the things I thought were not enough yet, the users said the exact same thing when the game came out. That was something I regretted very much when that happened because I knew it was coming. And that happened at the beginning of my career, and it was something I vowed would never happen again.

...........................................

Fair play to the guy for actually wanting to put out a game as complete as possible, although I think the development time of GT5 is stretching the reasonable development cycle for a game to its very limits. I'm just glad to know that we are on the home stretch for this one, and then we can start it all over again for GT6!

Just want people to know it. ;)

You sound mad?

Actually, from what it sounds like and thinking back to the menu screens, it seems like GT has adopted some things from Forza, like custom body and rim paint. However, it also sounds like they've adopted Forza's leveling system. I suspect there will be licenses still, but I also think that you'll level up like in Forza. And, like Forza, you'll unlock certain cars as you progress. and, eventually, the X1 will be one of the cars you unlock.

No, it seems consumers are to blame.

I doubt that, Painting body panels and rims came from forza?

Do we have a new release date?

There should be an announcement sometime soon.

Will we be playing it by Christmas?

I think so.

I wish Kazu answered these two questions more detailed.

These answers are not good enough and make me feel uncomfortable.

He probably doesn't know since he is not involved in that

I hope GT does rim painting better than Forza. I always felt it was very weak in FM3, some of the colours wouldn't really even show up on the rims when painting, and on dished/lipped rims it would paint the dish/rim in the colour also. I'd love if they took a leaf out of Need for Speed's book and let us paint individual rims different colours and give them different offsets front and back

There is the X1 Challenge, which may become available only after reaching said level... So in a way, you got to "try" it.

I don't remember any GT game placing a barrier between you and a car, that wasn't a simple hefty price (or a task).

The X1 will probably cost an arm and a leg... or maybe like many prototypes or rare cars, you'll only acquire it as a "prize car", which may involve completing the hardest championship or maybe reaching a certain completion percentage.

@SuperShouden
Not so sure... B-spec was built around raising status points (same with A-spec, though, it served no purpose), the only thing they did for GT5, different from GT4, was slap "levels" to it.

Well, previous GT games gave you cars at 25, 50 and 100% completion stages. Forza just took it to a level that made buying cars, pointless. 50 free cars in a 6 "year" span was too much.
