I hope GT does rim painting better than Forza. I always felt it was very weak in FM3, some of the colours wouldn't really even show up on the rims when painting, and on dished/lipped rims it would paint the dish/rim in the colour also. I'd love if they took a leaf out of Need for Speed's book and let us paint individual rims different colours and give them different offsets front and back

Rim paint like NFS Underground... LOL

I will paint them only in black!

Well, previous GT games gave you cars at 25, 50 and 100% completion stages. Forza just took it to a level that made buying cars, pointless. 50 free cars in a 6 "year" span was too much.

The GT4 JPN version seems to lack that, I didn't win anything for reaching those percentages, but on the other hand, the black FGT came as a prize car on the Nurb 24h (and possibly the FGT championship, don't remember exactly now :P)

I doubt that, Painting body panels and rims came from forza?

I don't think we'll be able to paint individual body panels, but Forza was the first game I played that had the rim paint.

Yeah, NFS's rim painting was a bit better. I always loved the different paints, too. Like matte, and crome for the rims.

But, it is obvious that we'll have levels for both A and B spec careers, and I wouldn't be surprised to see cars unlocked as we progress. I just hope they don't do the "you get 25% off parts from this dealer" crap.

First of all, I actually didn't say Need for Speed Underground at all, I just said "Need for Speed", but I was referring to Pro Street if you were wondering.

Secondly, what's wrong with that? The wheel painting in Pro Street is deeper than what we have ever got in a GT game before.

The only colors I will ever paint my rims are Black, White, and maybe flourescent orange/yellow on drift cars :D

Some Takata green rims on a white PS13 Silvia, yum, I can just imagine it now!

I'm hoping we can get some matte paint for the cars body too. The more options the better.

Always digged a Matte Dark Gold on rims. However, those only work with a few colors. Although Dark Silver/Gray looks great to.

Just want people to know it. ;)

You sound mad?

Yes but it's hardly surprising and I guess most here already read that article and the rather obvious conclusion of it being available by reaching a certain level.
But I'm not mad though ( as in bad tempered, maybe I am mad phychological ).;)

Thats the problem I have with Forza, they make it too easy and less about skill, everyone can download each others tuning set ups is my biggest gripe about it.

All good.

How is that different from the countless GT4 setups that have been posted and replicated? If anything, being able to download someone's setup lets me skip the step of having to write settings down and re-enter them. No point in reinventing the wheel...

If it's a genuine tune. Lol.
Don't see a problem in that.

But i would think GT based this on real life, like when i painted my car's rims black, i did not get this idea from forza. :)

Tuning should be about the way you drive, not how someone else drives. If you can get a set-up down that suits your style of driving, that's the best. Someone else might like oversteer, someone might like more understeer. No one can say this tune or that tune is the best there is until they try it. GT was always good with tuning, even though I just lowered it and increased camber. I never really messed with it too much, but now I understand sway bars and steering angles, it'll be a treat to set your own tunes.

Just checked Amazon and they now state: "This item will be released on December 31, 2010."

Wheel painting is no replacement for wheel shopping :| (not for me at least, I'll keep the original wheels for normal\sport tires and hunt down Nissan racing wheels for the... well, racing tires :P)

Yeah... I think we might be looking at a November 30th release at this point.

If what this user says is true, that'd match up with the "Week 3" for Turismo Tuesdays as well as the Sony Style Release date. I won't take his word for it, but it does in fact match up.

And whats wrong with that? Every racing sim has always had someone sharing setups with others. They do it on iRacing, GTR2, rfactor and countless others so exactly whats the problem? BTW, Setup sharing is done in real racing too.

Non-confirming Keyword and source in bold. Might I also remind you that is something called a placeholder? Its not official

No, it seems consumers are to blame.

Specifically speaking, GTPlanet in all likelihood has played a huge part in that delay.

Forza just took it to a level that made buying cars, pointless.

Indeed. I found myself not even caring actually. I enjoy grinding for enough credits just to afford racing brakes (for example).

That was one thing I actually enjoyed about Forza. The community sharing features were something special. It's why I am very excited about the ability to gift parts and cars in GT5.👍

To each there own I guess. To me someone using my set up makes me feel like a football coach that just had his playbook ripped off. Unless I give that permission of course, and I have plenty of times. I'm just saying if everyone is using the same set ups it takes away the competitiveness. Tuning gives you an edge if you do it right. I used to use other peoples set ups until I started learning how to do it myself. Like I said to each there own.

I'm hoping that we will get some form of announcement from the GT Awards Show tonight at SEMA 👍
