Gives more info on the delay and of course the reason is no real surprise
I know this is going to get eaten alive here, but I figured it's a story to pass the time.
So, anyways...
I ran into a guy I formerly worked with who isn't huge into racing, but enjoys it. We used to briefly talk about GT5 here and there over the past year and a half. Well, I saw him today and he told me he got the call to pick up GT5. I told him he's an idiot and that the game just first went gold this week, and that they are printing copies as we speak (like everyone knows already). He was convinced otherwise, saying that the shop he ordered it from had limited quantities of an early release copy and he had to pay $75 for it instead of $60. Sounds like complete BS, right? Well, at that point, I told him I'd give him $100 for it (knowing I could turn around and sell it for way more if it were true). He's told me he would, but didn't want to because he just got it and wants to play it more without waiting for it to officially release. At this point, I start quizzing him about what's in it and what his favorite things about it were...stuff, that he wouldn't even know (like he didn't even know NASCAR or rally were in it), but that he tried some of that out in the timeframe he tried it.
Who knows, I know he has to be BS'ing, but the teeniest tiniest fraction of me said..."What if". PD has done stranger things.
Please don't flame me, I just thought I'd share that and I'll find out what the scoop is on his story (he probably bought Prologue, but that doesn't have NASCAR or rally). I've been on GTPlanet about 10 times daily for the past year, so I know what's up with all the current info and I know this can't be possible, but like I said..."WHAT IF"
Carry on.![]()
Was your drink spiked?
At this point Jalopnik's credibility is irrelevant and Sony, more or less being put on the spot, have to deliver some sort of message to confirm or deny the news. But I wonder what verification they go through to think it's solid enough to make their own post? It is providing lots of hits, and despite spreading like wildfire I wonder if they are aware of Jalopnik's credibility?

awards are over, yes? Not that I expect a release date but anything?

Really? What if you expect nothing and something bad happens would you not be both surprised and disappointed?"Expect nothing and you will never be disappointed"
"Expect nothing and you will always be surprised"

I imagine the costs to throw commercials into such an intense time-slot probably don't come cheap, though. That and the commercials that have been made so far wouldn't have an accurate release date.
Is it really half of Europeans? What a frighteningly large number, wow!
Guys, I've been thinking about the Test Course.
You know, many of us find really interesting to test a car's top speed, 0-400m and 0-1km acceleration, and I would REALLY miss it if it's not available on GT5.
As I remember, the Test Course wasn't seen in GT4 until the game was out. In GT5, we could use the Top Gear Track straight (where the 96 car picture is taken) to test acceleration, but I was wondering if there will be some kind of giant Oval Test Course like always before. I know it's likely, but what do you think?
Greetings
Just create your own with the Course Maker! 👍
Yup. The first track I'm going to create is a 6 mile long straight away for max speed testing.
Can you imagine doing a 12 car drag race down a six mile straight away. It would come down to top speed, and what car handles the best at 250+mph.
Hey guys just a quick post for anyone interested about Jason Bradbury (Gadget show) bloke testing GT5 yesterday his twitter says.
GT5 brief play. Quik access to huge range of cars is cool. Tracks much more varied than b4. Steep learning curve. Visually - best out there.
I call BS six ways of Sunday. He's apparently the only guy on planet earth with a full copy of this game and his review consists of three short twitter sentences? Yea, OK.
Lots of cars, more tracks and good visuals? Hell I should be a "gadget" reviewer, because I already knew all that about GT5, in fact most have for about 6 years now.![]()
