Let's not nag at each other, GT5 is coming soon!
 
Not sure if this is new but here goes

As each day that goes by without a confirmed release, we fear more that the game will miss Christmas. But this won't be the case, SCEA's senior VP of marketing Peter Dille has said.

When asked if that game's still on track for a 2010 release, Dille simply reiterated series creator Kazunori Yamauchi's original statement on the delay.

"Yeah [it's on track], Kazunori came out with a comment that they are working on a few last things. He apologized to the community, but explained it is coming before Christmas. We haven't put a date to that yet, but we will just as soon as we get word from him when he's done," he reassured Siliconera.

HE went on to confirm that this statement included both Japan and US (Europe went unmentioned but we expect it was worldwide).

Kill me! I will try my best. I just dont understand why everyone makes such a big deal about it?

I hope that "last few things" were solved some days ago and the discs are really being made...
 
Yeah when I first read this I though it must be old as it I thought the game was already finished if it has gone Gold - but apparantly it is a very recent statement.

I need to say, this article, along with the others, really points to Kaz being responsible for the delay and not telling us the release date. SCEA doesn't even know what's going on.
 
yes, i know GT5 is coming soon.

"soon" as used by Sony/PD/Kaz in the past few years.

In one of my earlier posts I theorized the same thing. There's good reason for him to do it. But I don't want to write it all again.

That would make him a pretty damn stupid fellow though, wouldn't it?

I hope that "last few things" were solved some days ago and the discs are really being made...

the "last few things" could be related to the advertising of the game more than the game its self. Things like master copies of a possible tv ad campaign.
You wouldn't want a game losing out on casual buyers because of a poor thrown together tv ad would you ? the ad needs to leave watchers saying WOW i need that game.

I can't think of any time Kaz has lied, which this would be. He might be off on his judgement on when the game would come out in the past, but there's a big difference between being off on a release date and saying discs are being stamped.

How? Few years ago he laughed when he was asked if the game would be released 2010. Then he missed the November 2nd date. And we still don't have a date

I dont think he would lie to the whole world like that on such quesiton.
 
When did Sony Style post the On or About release date? As the last sentance of the article says i was done on the day of the article being written, that is if i am understanding it correctly.
Official Sony retail site Sony Style today posted GT5 for release "on or about 11/30/2010," if that makes any sense. Let's hope that's accurate.

Edit: The earliest i could find is the 29th of October.
 
One thing that confuses me is why does SCEA say he's still working on the game and Kaz says it's being pressed? And then, if it's being pressed, why don't we have a release date?

That's not lying though. The game was in development at that time so there was no real way of him being able to tell where it would be a year from that point. He just didn't think that it would take until 2010 to be released. But as I said, that's not the same as saying discs are being stamped right now.
