I like the disc. Looks real to me. Everything is done with a lot of detail.
Although , if I were in charge of the disc's+cover , I would make the CD gold colored , a platinum edge and the box filled with expensive feathers from heaven. The outside of the box has to be made of gun metal black with only a golden GT5 logo in the middle and also a platinum edge. Something like heaven. Except for the gun metal black case. :)I think the CD is legit. It has great detail.

Well that disc has an Australian rating sticker. Europe and Australia normally get the same discs. But if it was real there should be a German USK sticker on the disk as well.

So I call it a fake.
 
It's real or an elaborately made BD with a guy who obviously has too much time on his hands.
 
What I suspect is happening, is Sony, through various regional and national reps, (North America, Europe, Asia, etc) is reaching out to their retail partners as they're trying to figure when they'll be able to produce and ship enough copies for a unified release. As part of this process, they probably need to discuss this with some of the bigger retailers. And as various dates are discussed and debated, we're probably seeing these December 17, November 30th, December 23rd, December 7th, dates and more, all being thrown around. Some places, like Amazon in the UK and France are already sending out emails with the December 17th date. They may be placeholders or they may simply be jumping the gun and announcing a 'possible' date before Sony has really confirmed anything.

Sony, for their part, are probably still in the process. I'm sure we'll get the official date within a week.

Someone at the "stamping" facility swiped a logo disk. Not sure, but I wonder if they ink them things before they put data on them?

Knew something was a little bit wrong...not a photoshop expert...but where's the brownish cloth in the Blu-ray hole? It's pitch black! Can anyone confirm?

Edit: On a closer poke at the screen, the cloth is kinda curled up there, so bahh...back to square one.

It's the Australia version; it says it was manufactured in Australia on the bottom.

I can see the trousers through the hole, might be your brightness settings.

dude, its not... look carefully.. or turn down the contrast/turn up the brightness.

The disc printing is the last step in the process

If it is a chop they did a hell of a job

the label printing is stamped on towards the end of the process I think.

turn up your brightness....

the ps3 logo doesnt look centered at the bottom of the disc, also the colours look a little washed out, im tempted to call fake.

love to be prioved wrong though!

WOW... I felt a big shiver on my spine...

If it is a real copy, I suppose that Sony will make it work with a future version of the PS3 firmware ... but as I said is just a guess...
 
Well it has an Australian rating, its manufactured in Australia. Thing is, if I had the disc and wanted to prove it was real I would show the title screen...

but with 10 years experience in photo editing programs including adobe photoshop.

that is 100% not a photoshoped image

either that or the person that has done it is a serious PS pro.

that is 100% a real disc, and i would bet a fair amount of cash thats real...
 
Sew just mentioned that the guy is promising more "specific" pics later today. So we'll see what he has.
