I just thought I'd share this with you, but realise it may mean absolutely nothing. I was in the dentist yesterday, and they had the TV on and a Citroën advert came on. It definitely made reference to the GT by Citroën car that we've seen on Prologue and in so many screenshots and videos. As I say, it's likely meaningless, but it's the closest thing I've seen to a TV advert for GT5...

hahaha Cereal Killer! its not a trap I can assure you :D

ahh sorry Shirakawa :D must have been another person :D

Hoping for both, and I also hope we will be able to set up the FOV angle in addition to choosing whether to display the driver's hands and the wheel or not. This option in particular would please very much hardcore sim fans. Thinking about it, Forza allows to set up the FOV angle, so it's possible that this option will be in GT5 too.

Actually Forza lets you do it, but it is for multi screen set up. If you do it with one TV the views gets really messed up. 👍

I cant believe nobody is excited about the ability to change views in cockpit cam. I think everyone would be pleased with this!

Yes sir!

:dunce:... Thanks for the heads up. See what happens when breakfast interrupts my reading. Although they were really good pumpkin pancakes. :)

But, in FM3 you can use the multi-screen setup as cheats way of moving the seat. If you alter the viewing angle higher, keep the screen defined as centre, you can move the seat further back.

Anyone else think Joey's going to win 'cause he's driving the GT5 car?

Hey, not sure if anyone mentioned it already, but anyone saw the ad to design your own Nascar while watching the Nationwide series?

Apparently, toyotaracing.com got this up for the next couple of days for people to design Nascar livery for the Camry. We could technically make our own GTPlanet car for all those livery pros and get everyone to vote in. 👍 I think it's only for US residents though as it requires you to register.

And Logano is back to 5th...

I wouldn't guarantee that just yet, he's got like six or seven other drivers that have some fast cars, of which one of them is his teammate.

I have Gran Turismo 5..............prologue :)

Well, if you're gonna fix a race, you don't want to make it THAT obvious. A last lap pass for the lead would make for great TV. I mean, you don't want it to end up like the Seahawks vs Steelers Superbowl where it was painfully obvious it was fixed.

I don't mind the Prologues at all (don't forget GT4:P), and in fact, I've played GT5:P more than any of my other PS3 titles.

Wits
I think you missed the carfans in your second part. And for not buying a new prologue for a GT to come is your call. Altough GT5P was not a complete game it had great value for money if you ask me. I played it alot and still do, and that for only 45 euro.

Totally agree with both of you. I have enjoyed prologue a lot, in fact its one of the few games I bought for the PS3 (I bought my PS3 for it). I'm not questioning whether it was worth it, I still maintain that relative to the size of a full release, its nothing more than a demo.

The issue that I have with it is that the huge revenues from prologue directly results in a prolonged developmental time and an anal pursuit of perfection, it turns the game into an art project. Sometimes trying to be commercially successful is good (things that most people want are prioritized). I don't see it encumbering the innovation aspect of GT (to a significant level).

I still remember getting blown away when GT3 came out, there was nothing like it. I would prefer a less than perfect GT (with ~150 cars and ~15 tracks) within 1 year of a console launch. GT4 was better in so many ways but the zenith of my excitement playing GT4 was only half of what I felt playing GT3. A version early on in a console life cycle would be great for both the fans and the console.

PD know how to do things right, they still need some work in doing the right thing department. They need to know what 'too much' is, time should be an important factor in the development process. If it weren't for the sheer brilliance of PD, the series would have been down in the gutter a long time ago (considering their proclivity to delays).

Being a GT fan requires a lot of patience.

Please say that there isn't a Forza car too. That's all we'd bloody need in this thread.

I wasn't fast enough with editing my previous comment, so here's the continuation.

Did you notice the bit at the end about herding people into full GT5:

"Although I had previously bumped into Kazunori after the award show, Taku also introduced me to him and explained a bit about me supporting GT on this forum. He seemed to recognise who I was then. They asked for a bit of help from us with explaining to players the transition from Prologue to GT5. There will be an undetermined overlap of maybe 3-6 months before they finally pull the plug on Prologue's on-line. As I suggested earlier, this will give some leeway for players to get on-board with GT5 and it will free up resources that can be devoted to GT5. If you want better on-line events than Prologue's, too, get GT5 as soon as you can."

Yea, I play GT5p near 80% of the time when my PS3 is ON. The latest mission is 10 laps on Fuji GT with all cars to get the best time :D

I kinda hope GT5 comes out on the 30th 'cause my birthday is the 1st. It'd make an awesome birthday present to myself. :)

I hope GT5 will come on a friday! So i can get a day off from work and have a long weekend!! :)

GT5 car about to restart in 4th. This is about to be crazy.

Edit: GT5 car finishes 4th

If you're a kid and you see a driving game which includes a 1000 cars costing the same as another with far less the decision might not be that hard which to buy.

That is what happened to me when I first got my Playstation. My sister and I were at a Circuit City looking for games (we just bought our Playstation at a nearby toy store). She showed me two games, one was Testdrive 5 and the other was GT2. Take a wild guess which game we bought?

I never liked racing games. I also didn't knew anything about cars, racing/motorsports etc. I learned so much with GT. Now, I'm a car nut and GT is the only video game I care about. Well, not entirely. Anything from Fumito Ueda/Team Ico I'll buy without hesitation.

4th isn't too bad. It's not in the top 3, but it's still in the Top 5. It should be noted that the NASCAR in GT5 won't be a Nationwide car, but a Sprint Cup Car.

Would you mind explaining the difference please. Am not a Nascar person.

Nationwide cars are slower than Sprint Cup cars, a bit like F1 and GP2.

EDIT: I know there's a lot more differences than that, but in basic terms, that's it.

Not a big Nascar fan but I assume Nationwide took the place of Bush?

Having twice as much grip as any other car on the track would be quite an advantage, to be fair. :sly:

GT5 will release on a Tuesday in N/A, IMO. It has always released on a Tuesday, so why vary from the norm?. The Japanese are a very superstitious lot and will more than likely release GT5 on a Tuesday. My Guess is the 30th of November, or the 7th of December. Either way, I think it'll be out before Christmas. But then that's just MPO. ;)
