Nationwide cars are slower than Sprint Cup cars, a bit like F1 and GP2.

EDIT: I know there's a lot more differences than that, but in basic terms, that's it.

Thanks for that appreciated.

I'm not sure what it means... but I just went to a Sony Style store and an employee told me that their Sony Rep. told them that the street date would be November 9th.

GT5 will release on a Tuesday in N/A, IMO. It has always released on a Tuesday, so why vary from the norm?. The Japanese are a very suspicious lot and will more than likely release GT5 on a Tuesday. My Guess is the 30th of November, or the 7th of December. Either way, I think it'll be out before Christmas. But then that's just MPO. ;)

The great majority of games and movies are always released on Tuesdays, on very uncommon occasions will something be released on a Friday and on very very rare occasions will something release on any other day.

Since this is Gran Turismo 5 we are talking about here,in my mind it should have the privelage to release on whatever day it wants :sly:

That would be sweet and I have thought this may be the case for the last several days but afraid to get my hopes up.

Ive got the feeling its ready to go as well , ive said on an earlier page , i have everything crossed

9th is a Thursday, so probably not true. The 7th is a Tuesday. I still think that's a late release date.

Doubt that, even though it would be nice if it was out in 3 days. :sly:

Slightly off-topic, but what happened to Famine? I haven't seen him in a while.

The release date announcement maybe...

Or he thought you were asking for Black Ops by mistake.

Actually, the 9th is on a tuesday. I'm staring straight at my calender.

He's currently on holiday (vacation, to you Americans), which would explain the lack of forum activity. :p

If you want me to make it more complex, I can, but I was pitching it at the level the question was asked...

Plus I'm on holiday and orbit velocities are currently a sore point.

I seriously doubt he meant November. Probably December.

it only missed its schedule by 3 days ... i believe its ready to go .. positive thoughts

That is what happened to me when I first got my Playstation. My sister and I were at a Circuit City looking for games (we just bought our Playstation at a nearby toy store). She showed me two games, one was Testdrive 5 and the other was GT2. Take a wild guess which game we bought?

I never liked racing games. I also didn't knew anything about cars, racing/motorsports etc. I learned so much with GT. Now, I'm a car nut and GT is the only video game I care about. Well, not entirely. Anything from Fumito Ueda/Team Ico I'll buy without hesitation.

That's what I meant and it could turn out both ways for a 'casual gamer', either you realy dig it and turn into a pertolhead due to it like you or it's putting you off racing games alltogether.
I was already into cars long before the first GT arrived and really liked it because I was into cars and the way it replicated the handling or physics of them.:)

Pearl harbor day in the US is December 7. How ironic would it be that the Japanese were to drop a gt5 bomb on us that day?

This is certainly true. GT could very well have the liberty of releasing whenever it wants. Usually though, movies and games that release on a Friday are titles that most people have never heard of, trying to capitalize on the busy nature of the early weekend shopping crowd to get a big release. The titles that release on odd days usually only do it when they have a reason to do so. I can't remember any game ever releasing on an odd day, but the last movie I recall was Avatar, because James Cameron wanted it to be released on Earth Day.

9th is a Tuesday. If it wasn't then there would only be 5 days in between Tuesdays (since the last Tuesday was the 2nd).

Nintendo released New Super Mario Bros Wii on a Sunday last year, so anythings possible

Nintendo is not the best example .They do what ever the hell they want . I think all or most of their first party games release on Sundays, don't they?

Yes, Ironic, "A Day that will live in Infamy". Whoever posted that Tuesday was the 9th didn't read my post. We're talking about TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2010. :dunce: Oh, wait:

@keyz13 And just another point....the 9th of November is ridiculous.....Sony and PD have not even given a release date and you expect it to be here in 4 freakin' days??? Sorry, but I need some of what you're smokin'! It doesn't even give Sony time to drop any advertising on us.

Totally agree with both of you. I have enjoyed prologue a lot, in fact its one of the few games I bought for the PS3 (I bought my PS3 for it). I'm not questioning whether it was worth it, I still maintain that relative to the size of a full release, its nothing more than a demo.

The issue that I have with it is that the huge revenues from prologue directly results in a prolonged developmental time and an anal pursuit of perfection, it turns the game into an art project. Sometimes trying to be commercially successful is good (things that most people want are prioritized). I don't see it encumbering the innovation aspect of GT (to a significant level).

I still remember getting blown away when GT3 came out, there was nothing like it. I would prefer a less than perfect GT (with ~150 cars and ~15 tracks) within 1 year of a console launch. GT4 was better in so many ways but the zenith of my excitement playing GT4 was only half of what I felt playing GT3. A version early on in a console life cycle would be great for both the fans and the console.

PD know how to do things right, they still need some work in doing the right thing department. They need to know what 'too much' is, time should be an important factor in the development process. If it weren't for the sheer brilliance of PD, the series would have been down in the gutter a long time ago (considering their proclivity to delays).

Being a GT fan requires a lot of patience.

That actually sounds like a larger delay in actual changes to the GT series, as PD would then have to take the time to create a full game each time. Such a system could have long term ramifications affecting creativity and a prolonging of actual game releases with any sort of innovation; the series could take much longer to actually develop.

I am not arguing for any sort of huge waits like we've had with GT5, but I also don't want a Madden style release system.

we will have news VERY SOON ok!?

I've got a funny feeling it's coming next year.

PUHLEEZE! Nintendo??? Nintendo isn't EVEN Sony. Each Gaming Platform developer has their own methods and marketing techniques that separate them from each other.

I've got a funny feeling it's coming next year.

Nah, I honestly believe it'll be out before the end of the year.
