PD is showing really poor things everytime new footage from the game appears so don't be pissed when anyone names it concretely and don't do any crusades against real debaters if you are cooking from the water and they have fair prove for their words. Then you can look silly even if you have been hundred years before them at gtplanet. Thank you.
New footage running from old code. Code that they haven't finalized or that they "gimped" in order to not show us all their cards.
Move on.
This is all at PD's responsibility. If they are showing us only crap on purpose then they certainly know that they will be criticised for it and they are able to carry it. But you are not and that's really solid feeding for possible flamewars. Deal with the discussion please and keep your head cool, please.
You must be joking. I'm not the one calling their work crap, you are. I told you to move on, meaning, drop the topic. You're the one adding to the fire. This is all at PD's responsibility. Anyone planning on getting the GT5 Official Guide Book when the game is released?
I think Piggback Interactive did the one for GT4 and it was a pretty good reference source.
It's a slow news day so apologies if anyone thinks this is a poor discussion point!

Well the forza guide had certain manufacturers missing because they didn't approve of a guide book showing their stats.
So guys you might want to hold out on that book until you know more.
That sums it up quite well, you know some people like me wait for damage arrive to GT series since the first day they played GT and what we got shown so far was rather shocking, so "they improving it" doesn't really cut it... we know near to nothing about final game and that makes people think about the actual implementation of damage.
E.g. will it be online or just offline, how will it look, will there be debris on track...?
As I said we know nothing, but its worth discussing IMO. Just not with people who say "WTF" or "I'll be happy with what ever PD will give us" all the time.
Real fans should look for improvement, rather than status quo... from how I see it.
Real fans? You're a real fan? Damage and other things most people could live without were only put into the game because of "real fans" like yourself. I wish damage never made it's way into the series. We have Burnout for those wanting their damage fix. That sums it up quite well, you know some people like me wait for damage arrive to GT series since the first day they played GT and what we got shown so far was rather shocking, so "they improving it" doesn't really cut it... we know near to nothing about final game and that makes people think about the actual implementation of damage.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and is equally entitled to disagree with someone else's opinion. Whilst I concede that my replies do not further intelligent discussion I think they are fitting to RedBaron's posts. What we have seen of GT5 from PD so far has been truly outstanding and is certainly not "really poor" or "crap", the game is in development so we will have to wait to see what the final product is like. Maybe something has been lost in translation but RedBaron's posts didn't make much sense hence the confused smilies.
I can't blame anyone at this point. 5 years of work with only one "release date" announced & the rare announcements of big news.Really poor things? No, PD's problem stems from the fact that their customers are impatient at having to wait so long...
There's nothing in GT5 the Racing genre needs unless you just want realistic looking graphics & accurate models. Everything else has already had its foundation laid out & there's simply not enough info to see whether or not Polyphony is improving on that foundation or just telling us things....for a game that the genre needs.
Sure everyone's entitled to their opinion, but, however, as for what I've seen so far, I have to say, was always poor youtube quality videos, which didn't show many details and looked overall rather horrible.
But yeah, I just wish they'd give us more real info.
PS: I live 30 minutes away from Stuttgart, so maybe I'll give that SLS thing a try and report back... me and a wheel, should be funny.![]()

Well, I'll take a steaming pile of this "crap" on a Blu-ray in a Special Edition, thank you very much. The Time Trial demo was so outstanding, I can hardly wait for this "crap" game to be released. Of course, that's me. You don't have to buy it if you don't want to.This is all at PD's responsibility. If they are showing us only crap on purpose then they certainly know that they will be criticised for it and they are able to carry it. This build of GT5 boasted the Tokyo track with a few cars, such as the Mercedes SLS, the Ferrari 458, the Toyota FT-86 Concept, the Subaru WRX STi, and one other I'm forgetting. On the track we only had a meager two minutes, or so. It was barely any time to do anything, let alone pass enough of the aggressive A.I., which now holds grudges. At one point during a race with my Ferrari, a yellow Lamborghini LP560-4 decided it'd be funny to ram into me from behind during a turn, side swipe me, and then stick to my door like a magnet, not allowing me to straighten out. Sheesh. To be honest, the magnetization seemed more like a hiccup than an intentenional A.I. trait, but either way, I did notice that the A.I. does behave differently here than Prologue. And to be fair, I did accidentally hit that Lambo earlier on when he braked during a little corner I normally coast through.
I didn't see many cars following the same line anymore, as I spotted numerous A.I. drivers going a bit too left, too right, having the rear get squirly, and even grazing a wall. The physics felt a bit tighter than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which is pretty damn impressive. As a result, cars feel more planted and their weight more apparent, allowing you to perform with more precision, even with a controller. That weight can also be felt when slamming into walls, as your car no longer bounces off of them like a toy.
Most writeups on the various GT5 demos haven't been very detailed, but this one at least goes into it a bit more

When you're dealing with an Asian video game creator, you know the wait will be long. They stress patience. If Gran Turismo were done by a western producer, the wait would be far less, but the quality would likely suffer. We cannot pick and choose (well you CAN get FM3). FM4 will likely be out far before GT6.
Goes to show you what Sony can do to PD. GT PSP was probably the biggest obstacle. Without GT PSP, I'd guess GT5 would have been out in late 2008. Too bad they're finally JUST rounding the last corner. But I can wait.
