i think it is a bit crazy that the la sarthe 2009 have time and weather when the same trak just without the chicanes dosn,t have weather or time and we are now 3000 pages :)

Did Gt4 have Advanced online abilities, 16 cars on track, nascar, karting, driving challenges, track creator, high end physics engine, weather, time changes, cockpit view , etc?

Online no coz the PS2 was not entirely internet ready

Wow more cars on the track point being ?

Nascar I don't really give two hoots about its the most boring form of motorsport known to man

Track Creator wow and i'm sure Modnation racers took 5 years to make just for that feature :)

GT has always had high end physics nothing new there

GT isnt the first racing game to include weather effects so its not exactly a boast same goes for time changes

also technically the Daimler patent motorwagen had a cockpit view :)

Biggest let down for me. An also no Testarrossa.

I'm just with you. (I've said it 100 times - please F50 and 512TR...)

Also ONE car that really need to be premium is SUPRA RZ.Come one - it's one of the best cars ever made and it's JAPAN.What the hell? :grumpy:

My GS is doing a midnight release.

Yeah, see whats funny about that, I guess some gamestops have been informed? or... I dunno, I called mine directly like an hour ago, and this has been up for a little while, and I was like yeah so... when are you guys going to be having your GT5 out to come pickup? she was like what do you mean? I said the date has been changed to november 24th, shes like umm... not sure where you're getting that information, I said uhhh from the Gran turismo site? and YOUR webpage?, shes like uhh... I'm still showing a "street date" of 1/01/11, I was like well you guys better update your systems then.

God this is just getting boring now. There is a thread for you people to moan on, I don't want to read pages of it here. Also, if Forza has the cars you want, go and play it. GT5 has the cars I and probably a lot of others want, I'm happy.

For the record, I'd rather drive a million Nissans than a million Ferrari's and other supercars alike.

/Rant over.

Kaz

"Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly. I can only apologize to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed."

The way you guy's mention standard cars that should be premium, make it look as if these cars weren't even in the game.

I see it more like, standard cars are just enough to be considered decent cars for this generation of gaming system, while the premium cars are simply ahead of their time, they are photo realistic and would not evolve much in term of graphic even if they were on the latest gaming PC in the next two years.

It's not as if the standard cars were just utter crap.

I don't see how it's not the game that was expected. I've followed it extremely close and none of the things that have been unveiled today are surprising. I've seen some say "Wait, there aren't day/night cycles on all tracks" or "There isn't weather on all tracks" both of those things were made clear when the features were announced. Kaz said that day/night cycles were for tracks that made sense for endurance races and for randomly generated tracks. Then there are some complaining about tracks not being in, like Spa, when PD never announced such a thing. That's not even getting into the tuning complaints, which Kaz made quite clear wasn't going to be as in depth as Forza nor were they trying to make it that way as it's not the focus of the series.

All in all, this is what I expected it to be. The most feature packed racing game ever

See back the very first post of this thread and its date. You should get the point.

If not, well let's just say that my demanding standards are likely different from yours.

what the hell.. What's going on with the complaining? 1000 cars (and yeah a lot of them are the "same") and you still complain? Have you guys even tried it yet?

"oh wow this is GT4 HD - sad panda face :(" yeah well difference being this game most likely plays way way better and has superior sound and much more.

WHY are people still complaining? - oh yeah I forgot, every forum troll seems to be developer themself.

Could someone eloborate this to me in a manner so they dont sound like selfish little kids?

There's nothing wrong with being disappointed or expressing your opinion, but good lawd...some of you are just whining. I'm disappointed with the lack of certain tracks too, but some of you are going a tad bit too far.

To say this is GT4 HD or GT 4.5 is idiotic in my opinion. To ask what they have been doing for 5 or so years in a negative manner is also idiotic in my opinion. I'm glad they decided to carry over cars instead of doing what they did with GT3.

They had to learn to code for PS3 which is apparently a difficult system to come to grips with. They're introducing a completely revamped physics system which I'm pretty sure took up the majority of the time, and have added damage and weather which I'm also pretty sure took up a good bit of time.

Developing a racing game is not just about the amount of tracks/cars or varieties of cars/tracks. If the most important part of a racing game (i.e. physics) isn't good, the rest of the game will suffer. I'm glad they added all the extra features. Besides, none of us even have the game. There's no telling what surprises PD has in store for us. Surprises which may not even be on the car or track lists.

I'm not saying don't bring up the possible negatives, and I'm definitely not sticking up for PD. I'm simply saying that some of you are making some outlandish statements about a game you don't even have yet, having therefore not put any time into it to make such claims yet. At least wait until you go through EVERY single aspect of GT5 before doing so.

Can't wait to see you guys online.

The biggest dissapointment for GT5?

It's fanbase...

The game isn't even out yet and people are already judging it on some silly little track list and car list, anyone ever heard of the term "don't judge a book by it's cover"??

(second rant of day over)

I this case it's very much what's "inside" the book.
