I just hope that if there is DLC tracks and cars its free coz after the fiasco we have all had to endure the past 5+ years and then however much the game will retail for many many people will not be impressed and think the same as me GT4.5 in HD

Did Gt4 have Advanced online abilities, 16 cars on track, nascar, karting, driving challenges, track creator, high end physics engine, weather, time changes, cockpit view , etc?

👍 I am in shock how this is going, I have never seen GTP this bad, I am so happy about the news and gonna have the chance to play GT5.
Yeah, the complaints are just spreading like wildfire. And the funny thing is, no one has even played it yet(cept for you know who):sly:

it utter stupidity. It was quite good earlier when we knew the announcement was coming, there was a lot of happininess. lasted 5 mins before it went back to normal.

The thing is , the behaviour is across most internet forums now, its shocking.

still, im absolutly delighted with whats announced. Look foward to seeing you lot online.:sly:

I think the 'RM' stands for not cars that YOU can race mod, but cars that are available in the beginning to you as Stock or Modded (as the 'Concept by Gran Turismo' ones on GT5P).

Now can someone explain me why some cars seem to be available both as Standard and Premium?

Track list is a bit underwhelming, but at least the game is finally coming out. For those severely disappointed, take a deep breath and remember: DLC will undoubtedly be released.

I'm sorry to quote you, since this not directly towards you individually, but that is kind of the same argument used (and that still is amazingly) of those who defend that "standard cars will have cockpit view, you'll see. They just don't have interior view :dunce:" People face it: The game is has it was been showed, and told.

They'd better be patches and not paid DLC, because the game as it is now, is clearly incomplete for me.

Yes, the game it is definetively incomplete (or rushed...). But although I agree with your point of view, that DLC's shouldn't be paid, I highly doubt that patches will ever happen for the inclusion of extra features. Or dlc for the matter...

Not all of GT5's DLC may be free, but I'm positive that at least some of it will.

Believe me, I'm as disappointed with the track list as any of you. Where's El Capitan? Midfield? Infineon? Seattle? Citta’ D’Aria and Costa D’Amalfi??

It's frustrating for GT5 to be lacking all of these great tracks that GT4 had, and the bitterness is multiplied by the fact we've been waiting 6 years for GT5. But it's not entirely unexpected... we had the track count forever, but chose to assume the number was too low and spawned the whole track/location debate which ultimately gave us false hope that GT5 would have many more tracks than what we're now seeing.

So what have they been doing for 6 years? Redoing the physics engine from scratch, implementing damage, full online functionality, weather and day/night cycle for the first time ever. Among other things.

We can always hope for content packed updates like we had for GT5P. Spec I, Spec II, and Spec III... this is me hoping.

Paying 60-70 dollars/euro for the game isn't already enough for you?
I can understand companies, but why would you, end user, want to pay more?
This DLC idiocy is getting out of control. People shouldn't be asking for it.

About my comment before regarding GT5 not being GT4 2010 edition, I stand by that - GT5 is a different game on a different console, and I also fear that some people believe that GT5 should simply be GT4, but in HD and with bells and whistles... it ain't. While GT5 is clearly descended from GT4, it is still a different game in many ways. I reckon that GT5 will be a huge game, but just like any other gaming series, it was never going to be definitive, and we may well have to wait on the next iteration for some things.

I and I think most people expected GT5 to be GT4 2010 edition. But I think is partly due to marketing and PD seems to have copy-pasted most of the features from GT4(standard cars, races, wheel shop, car wash...) Yet they only got the skeleton of GT4 2010 update in. Five years(or is it six already?) has not delivered the game like GT4. Project scope and time frame changing durring the development combined with small team has lead to this.

Im not sure the issue is the amount of cars that are basically just empty hells with wheels, it's more that after how long we've been waiting, there's only 220 fully complete cars? You can't say that's not a little surprising.

You can talk about the details in these premium cars all day, fact is Forza 3 has like 450 fully complete cars with pretty accurate interiors. No they dont look quite as good as GT5's premiums, but we're just driving these cars, not staring at them all day. Forza 3 has twice as many cars that can be fully customized, even beyond what GT5 lets you do if you want to talk about the livery editor.

It's just a bit surprising. I think if there were more like 400 premium cars in this game it wouldnt be as big of an issue with nearly as many people as there is now.

has anyone thought that a lot of NASCAR races could take place on randomly generated tracks. Im sure it could create a few nice ovals and road courses give the right parameters are used

You just said it yourself, "No they dont look quite as good as GT5's premiums, but we're just driving these cars, not staring at them all day."

It's about driving them..

I don't get it, if there would've been 400 premium, people would be complaining as much as now about the +600 not being premium. Complainers always complain.

Im not so much talking about how they look, but I think its more of the cockpit cam, for those that even care about it.

If you do, well then you're options in this game are limited to 220 cars, when GT's direct competition has more than twice that amount.

Seriously.

I've been waiting so long for this game, to me it looks fantastic and should keep me entertained for years to come. (especially online) I don't care if they didn't include something I wanted, they made up for it in other areas. All I know is I am sick of the whining, and it's turning this site into something it shouldn't be.

why in some respect you can argue this, what about 6 months down the line in may. The general gamer interest is starting to drain in gt5, and a couple of extra tracks, or cars will certainly re-interest a lot of people. If it done correctly, and is not priced stupidly, i am happy to buy DLC. Burnout, Red dead redemption for instance have showed the positives of DLC. People always want more of something. PSN according to one site, sold $5.7 million dollars worth of content in August alone.

Page 3000! wooooo. I really like the track list, apart from the absence of Apricot Hill. As for the car list, I don't understand what it means when cars are both P and S, what is that about?
