I'm curious how large the optical differences between standards and premiums are.

Noticeably, but not when in motion, as much. Thankfully PD does not differentiate them to the extent that premiums and standards cannot race together.
 
Anyone reckon the online aspect is going to be chockfull to hell? I mean, look at COD, the game story line isn't exactly looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong but what brings people back to it is the online multiplayer!

Obviously in this case GT5 is going to take about 3 years to fully complete (if you're wanting to collect every car, trophy, licence etc etc)

Online is still going to be sitting there pulling people in.

The game isn't even out yet and people are already judging it on some silly little track list and car list, anyone ever heard of the term "don't judge a book by it's cover"??

lol, thats a bit like saying don't judge a menu by it's ingredients. It's not the end of the world as some are making out but I'm sure it's allowed that some of us are a little underwhelmed by some of the info today. Still going to be a gaming experience to savour for me but a few more real world tracks would have been the cherry on the top for me.

I don't see how it's not the game that was expected. I've followed it extremely close and none of the things that have been unveiled today are surprising. I've seen some say "Wait, there aren't day/night cycles on all tracks" or "There isn't weather on all tracks" both of those things were made clear when the features were announced. Kaz said that day/night cycles were for tracks that made sense for endurance races and for randomly generated tracks. Then there are some complaining about tracks not being in, like Spa, when PD never announced such a thing. That's not even getting into the tuning complaints, which Kaz made quite clear wasn't going to be as in depth as Forza nor were they trying to make it that way as it's not the focus of the series.

All in all, this is what I expected it to be. The most feature packed racing game ever

We're still technically getting it at the same time. the way they are doing it pretty much is the same give or take a few hours for all countries, if you came to the USA on your 24th it would still be the 23rd our time.

At least its not like the PS3 November 17, 2006 in North America and March 16, 2007 in the United Kingdom and March 23, 2007 in mainland Europe and Oceania.
 
I honestly cannot believe the whining that is going on in here and in the comments in the news section. We get no news, you moan. We get the release date and car/track lists, you moan. Cancel your pre-orders if you are so upset by it...no, thought not. On paper it's easy to rip lists apart and bitch about why this or that is not in. In reality it's a huge game, and one that I for one am extremely happy with based on what we now know.

A classic case of people getting so hyped and making so many assumptions that nothing would have pleased them. Will you learn? I doubt it, all this will start again with GT6.
 
WAHHHH epic news! what a good morning, although after seeing the car list, I am now looking forward to GT6 earlier than expected. I would rather they scrap some old, insignificant cars and the repeated models is really not necessary unless the handling between those cars is day and night; which it isn't. That would save the team a lot of effort and time, and they can use that to update the roster instead. I understand PD comes here to read up on us so hopefully this catches their eye

The Veyron really doesn't look like a standard but even if it is, that's ok cause the overall look of the car is amazing so i'm happy with that, give us the SS as DLC please =)

And one last thing, I don't get why they don't have top gear in teh wet? How hard could it have been to implement rain on that track, it's so bare yet they can do it for more complex tracks?? And to be able to do replays in teh wet on top gear test track that would look stunning, plus the lap board is just dry/wet..I hope they can patch this..

I am pretty happy, car list is a bit of a let down but overall I really can't wait for the 23rd. It feels like long long ways away when I look at the calendar. Imo I believe this game will keep us entertained for years and possibly even after GT6 comes out. so....

i think it is a bit crazy that the la sarthe 2009 have time and weather when the same trak just without the chicanes dosn,t have weather or time and we are now 3000 pages :)

That's something I do not understand too.

From the developing side it should be no problem at all to include this feature into all of the tracks once they had it made.
 
Super excited there is finally a release date. Im not going to say Im not even a little bit disappointed because I am. Ive been disappointed with every release of GT. Mostly because I always want more regardless of time and budget. That being said, when the game is in my hands and Im playing it, that disappointment pretty much melts away.

The signature edition is now £20 off at game, I preordered when it was £150. Does this mean I pay the new price or not?

I'm not from the UK, but from a customer standpoint, I would complain and call them and ask, I grew up with the only stupid question is the one not asked, so by all means call them and ask them, it's not fair, you do that at most any business and they'll refund you the difference. since it was their price drop, unless of course, they ran out of pre order copies and those are one's that'll be shipped at a much later date, then basically your 20 extra went to giving you it sooner, I'd still call tho.

Talking about the tracks. I was thinking... I bet most of you don't used to drive in more than 5 tracks in GT4. So why complain a lot lol? The tracks are hella gorgeous, and more will come by DLC.

Just a question, will GTTV be coming back to gt5? i quite like some of the documentaries and that that featured on Prolouge. be awesome if they did a motorsport round up programme as well, with highlights from various disciplines.

I don't think it is because that's been deleted obviously for a reason.

If they start this whole Tuesday for the States, it'll then be Wednesday for EU and Friday for the UK which will suck.

The US blog said 24th for the States and that currently remains the only official date for the US available.
 
Hopefully we get to drive around the TG track freely. Just to have a slight glimpse of what JC's life feels like. And when you look at the replay , it has the same camera positions as the TG clips always have.

Yeah, I think if it stays that price when I pick it up then I pay that, so I will just have to hope it stays that low.Or perhaps I'll cancel my pre-order and do it again at this lower price.

Might pop down tomorrow or give them a ring. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, you pay the lower price, which is still a complete rip off for what you are getting. It has been reduced because people are cancelling their SE pre-orders in the wake of all this recent disappointing news... :rolleyes:
