Am i the only person who is happy with the tracks and cars? lol

i'm surprised the corolla levin AE-86? isnt premium though, it is both japanese and culty.

im just dissapointed with the development time.

I'm with you, 100%

The track editor finally allows the creation of unique and realistic rally stages of upto 10km in length.

Seems to me a number of people are more interested in putting 'rims' on a Supra and painting it in a 'cool' livery than the enjoyment of driving a realistic sim.

This is the problem - expectation. While everyone wants to see as many new cars and as many new tracks and new features as possible, the fact is that GT5 was never going to live up to the loftiest of expectations, and I fear that some people have been expecting far too much and were never likely to be completely satisfied with GT5.

About my comment before regarding GT5 not being GT4 2010 edition, I stand by that - GT5 is a different game on a different console, and I also fear that some people believe that GT5 should simply be GT4, but in HD and with bells and whistles... it ain't. While GT5 is clearly descended from GT4, it is still a different game in many ways. I reckon that GT5 will be a huge game, but just like any other gaming series, it was never going to be definitive, and we may well have to wait on the next iteration for some things.

👍

And like people said many times: we live in the internet gaming generation. So... updates, patches and DLCs WILL COME.

It happened for GT5P, it happens for all games out there.

IT WILL HAPPEN FOR GT5.

So, lets just start playing with what we gonna get (and it's not a small package!), enjoy and wait for more.

It's just like wife/girlfriends... they got some flaws, we got ours too. But we still love them and live with them... (and women cannot be updated as easy as the game lol )

I just hope that if there is DLC tracks and cars its free coz after the fiasco we have all had to endure the past 5+ years and then however much the game will retail for many many people will not be impressed and think the same as me GT4.5 in HD

I GIVE UP!! I can't believe nobody appreciates what features PD have included. yes, B-spec isn't new, but its much improved. photo mode, improved. sure you can upload videos on your ipod but you can't play grant turismo on your ipod can you?. the Sebastian loeb rally challenge with the ever-changing track will be immense. the endurance race on nurburgring 24hr WITH dynamic weather IS new. a track editor (ok not extensive) is a welcome addition to me. in fact you should all appreciate it a lot more, seeing as your so disappointed by the track list (which again, i think is great).honestly, there is no pleasing some people.

I'm thinking it was a bad idea to release the full car and track list before the game was released. Many people seem to be disappointed and some are actually canceling their preorders. I think a mere release date announcement would have sufficed and kept some of the mystery/hype surrounding what would be in the full game. I'll enjoy the game, but Sony and PD's handling of this whole thing has been kind of a nightmare. Maybe they should fire some people. :\

I just saw the Mazda Furai Concept '08 is in the list, but as a standard. Any special reason, that a new car like that is standard, and not premium? It can't be from GT4...

+1. Seeing those updates would give us something to look forward to, too.

Wow, we finally got a date (once again) + a track list and everyone* is upset? Lol why do we cry?

*I know the whining is always louder than the happiness on the web.

They'd better be patches and not paid DLC, because the game as it is now, is clearly incomplete for me.

I would not be too sure that much, if anything is added through DLC.

PD have already stated that the development time for GT6 will be much shorter as they won't need to redo the game engine etc from scratch again.

This suggests that GT6 will follow in a couple of years featuring the same engine but with more premium cars and a wider selection of tracks.

If they add a lot of tracks and cars as DLC to GT5 then what could they offer in GT6 to make us part with our money again?

206. P Toyota PRIUS G ‘09
207. P/S Toyota SUPRA 2.5GT Twin Turbo R ‘90

Thats the problem, those two cars doesnt deserve the premium list.

Whhhhhhaaat, the Toyota SUPRA 2.5 GT Twin Turbo R '90 should certainly be premium... same as the Mazda RX-7 GT-X (FC) '90 and the Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX Twin Turbo (Z32) '89!!!

Those three cars defined Japanese steel in the late 80's. They are perfect for ferocious turning and online battles. They are all also great cars to start the game with, considering they will likely be inexpensive. I am very excited about these three cars!!!

Im 100% with you.

Ive been waiting too long to just go and judge this game before I even get it. The things that matter to you now may not be the same as the things that matter to you when you actually have the game.

This is where PD screwed up with earlier games by adding a ton of cars. Now people expect 1,000 premium cars, every track in the world for only $60. Oh, and they want it within 2 years.

We finally have solid release date and everyone is complaining. Sad

Exactly we got more than enough, there will be DLCs and other things eventually. Just enjoy the game guys, stop whining for little things.

Anyway, how many of you have a 3DTV?

I have the game pre-order (CE) and I will get it on the 24th and play the hell out of it. But honestly this isn't the game that was expected. And sure it isn't the game we have been hinted through the years we would get.

I don't see how it's not the game that was expected. I've followed it extremely close and none of the things that have been unveiled today are surprising. I've seen some say "Wait, there aren't day/night cycles on all tracks" or "There isn't weather on all tracks" both of those things were made clear when the features were announced. Kaz said that day/night cycles were for tracks that made sense for endurance races and for randomly generated tracks. Then there are some complaining about tracks not being in, like Spa, when PD never announced such a thing. That's not even getting into the tuning complaints, which Kaz made quite clear wasn't going to be as in depth as Forza nor were they trying to make it that way as it's not the focus of the series.

All in all, this is what I expected it to be. The most feature packed racing game ever

As long as the you can drive up and down the Top Gear test track with out it being restricted to the 'Hot lap' circuit I don't mind anything else! I want to just play on that for hours, test driving the crap out of things!!

This will be the biggest shock if its not the case!!! :nervous:

If anyone cancels their pre-order they clearly have no interest in cars or driving.

As is the Audi R8 LMS Race Car, the BMW McLaren Race Car and the Bugatti Veyron... Such a shame, when they decided to make the Volvo C30 premium... So boring.

Biggest let down for me is that the Toyota GT-One is standard, and no Spa.

I so hope for a DLC to fix this!

But HEY! Just 12 days!

The thing is, GT5 is exactly what we expected it to be. We've known for over a year that the 800 cars from previous games would be there in standard form along with 200 new ones (that we pretty much had all figured out before the official list was released). We knew the damage wasn't going to be the best ever. We knew that there would only be 20 tracks with "70 variations".

And yet, everyone is acting like this is BRAND NEW INFORMATION!

Can the people that are disappointed with what we are getting please go HERE.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

👍 I am in shock how this is going, I have never seen GTP this bad, I am so happy about the news and gonna have the chance to play GT5.

Biggest let down for me. An also no Testarrossa.

I'm a little disappointed in the track and car list tbh. Makes me wonder what they've been doing for the last 6 years.

meh

I couldn't agree more. I think you hit this one dead on. Although I think there are some things they are not revealing and we will have to wait til the 24th to see. But if this list is accurate I must admit that I too will be disappointed. From GT1-GT4 the tracks increased in quantity not decrease. Otherwise it will be an enhanced GT5P. At least I'd assume all the GT4 tracks would return with a few more. Considering DLC is quite popular, I can't see Sony allowing PD to not focus here and add longevity to the game until GT6 releases. IMO, if they took 6 years for GT5, take another 2-4 years(especially considering GT5 is a base build for GT6 and most of the work is done) and put GT6 on the PS4. Til then, dedicate 25-50% of the PD team to do DLC. Content after release is a money pot.

Yup, I've thought about it for a little while.. and if those car and track lists are complete, then I am indeed disappointed :(
