I haven't commented specifically, but you're not far off the mark.

Having driven on at least Piazza del Campo, only for it not to be in GT5... confuses me.

I sure hope they just hid alot of stuff from you guys. That video was some time ago so hopefully with the delay some things got just got polished up and added (tracks/cars). I am optimistic that we have seen less than 50% of the game.

There's obviously not going to be 70 actual tracks or "locations", it won't be anywhere near that. If they have hidden anything there could be another 5 more tracks or so plus their variations.

Anyone expecting there to be double the number of locations that are on the list issued is going to be very disappointed. Even taking it as given that there will certainly be any more tracks than have been mentioned seems like a recipe for potential disappointment. It would be nice but it's by no means the "certainty" that a lot of people seem to paint it as.

I agree completely. But I don't think it makes sense for them to hide tracks. I don't think GT is the kind of product that needs a lot of propaganda or publicity to sell well, but not to show people a great aspect of your product makes no sense at all when it comes to trying to sell it...

I saw the video.
If Piazza del campo won't be in the game it won't be a shame. Have you look the trail? It's nothing more than a circle.

I'm sad about Twin Motegi and El capitan.

I don't want to believe to a surprise because there's already plenty of tracks and believe is the best way to be disappointed (tunning fans can you hear me? :sly: ).

But if there's a Spa Francorchamp........ :dunce::dunce:

Redemption for PD:

When the GT Academy 2011 starts, they update the game and the challenges take place in:

Infineon for USA
Motegi for Japan
Spa for Europe

👍

Can you please specify what made you think they're hiding stuff?
In that video they show some tracks in the demo and the only track not included in the game is Piazza del Campo (which I don't think will be missed if left out, and it might be a go-kart learning track).
About the 70 tracks Kazunori talked about, I think there might have been translation issues there, because if you count the tracks, there are around 27, 28 locations and around 78-80 track layouts.

Go read all the other post in all the other threads, then come back. If you don't come back, you will have answered your own question. There is lots of misleading info to this game. Until it comes out, we are all guessing and assuming about every aspect for this game.

Holy sh***
You made my day!! :)

But if we're in Europe, can we download the other continents tracks? That's the deal!

Spa seemed to be all but confirmed for GT5, and according to one of Jordan's sources the last GT academy was either going to be Indi or Spa. That turned out to be Indi in the end unfortunately.

So there is a tiny bit of hope for Spa for the US competition. (Although I would of thought it would of been the other way around considering location)

I hope my US account will let me at least run on the tracks, not actually enter the competition of course.

Where did you hear this?

Haha this NFS Shift 2 teaser kinda reminds me of all the visual details that PD wanted to accomplish with GT5

-glowing brake rotors
-sparks
-pilot details in cockpit
-debris
-spectators taking shots
-Nurburgring at night
....

I've been reading it. I just think most of the misleading info to the game is actually pretty plain information that people read too many time, eventually interpreting it like it could be a little hint to this or a clue to that.
The game is almost out, there's no reason for you to advertise your product hiding great things about it, and the lists are already out.
To sum it all up, I just think that people want so much to believe that their favorite track is in the game that they find ways to keep believing that until they actually get the game.
It is probably going to be the greatest racing game ever nevertheless, and I'd say the Course Maker will make up for all of the missing tracks...

Looks prerendered though, not even worth talking about anything that isnt real time.

There is definitely an incredible level of denial going on with the game. People are still trying to convince themselves that standard cars can have their rims changed, that standards have cockpits etc etc, and we know these things aren't true. The situation with the tracks is similar.

I'm not going to say that I don't think there will be a track or two extra in the game compared to the list, mainly because the list does seem to be borderline wrong with the omission of the Italian Karting track at least. I think there may even be a couple of the classic GT tracks hidden away somewhere, but I won't be disappointed if there aren't. People who think that half the tracks haven't been listed though are just unwilling to accept reality.

Keeping a few tracks as a surprise is possible, but no company is going to promote their product by listing only half the tracks that are in the game. Surprises are nice, but surprises don't sell games; announced features sell games.

Well said Dr.
It's exactly what I've been trying to say.

About the Piazza del Campo, I think it might be a go-karting practice track, or whatever, and that might be the reason why it's not listed, but at the same time, you have to remember it was not strictly for karting, because FIAT 500s were allowed to race on it too...but I really don't care about one more oval track, specially being tiny as this one is.

Yes, but in a Driving Simulator you want to be able to simulate different things. Whats the point of wasting resources to simulate the following:

Honda S2000 '99
Honda S2000 (EU) '99
Honda S2000 (US) '99

Honda S2000 '01
Honda S2000 (EU) '01
Honda S2000 (US) '01

Honda S2000 Type V '00
Honda S2000 Type V (EU) '00
Honda S2000 Type V (US) '00

Honda S2000 Type V '01
Honda S2000 Type V (EU) '01
Honda S2000 Type V (US) '01

Give me one, JUST ONE, good reason to include ALL of those. GT5 was promised the be the ultimate driving simulator. One of the taglines for the game is "Build a dream collection from over 1,000 of the world's most exciting cars, from exotic imports to muscle cars and performance supercars, to customize, race, and upgrade." I'm sorry, that list above, I'm counting it as 2 (maybe 4) cars, not 12. When a quarter of the cars are the same model (248 Nissan Skylines), that looses the excitement aspect. And we were promised "new and exciting" cars. I see a few, but I want to be able to try more than a few in a game as revolutionary as this. Where is the Cadillac CTS-V with its 556hp LSA? That is a truly magnificent car that deserves to the in GT5. Where is the Ford Mustang GT with the new 5.0? I mean, they got the new Challenger and the new Camaro? Wouldn't it make sense to include the new Mustang to simulate what all the magazines are doing in real life? I can keep going with these examples.

Call it how you want, but the car list does offer a good representation of virtually every type of different driving experience barring pickup trucks and Semi's. Although maybe those are in there. LOL

The bottom line as well like it or not is that Kaz does get to put somewhat of what HE wants in the game. Since he is Japanese, and has a fetish for Japanese cars we will have a bunch of them. He also has a fetish for Ford GT's I believe which is why those are always highly represented in GT.

Japanese imports are not my favorite cars and I'll center around Euro's, but when I need them I'll use them. It's not a deal-breaker by any means.

👍

I never had unrealistic expectations of the game, and now I'm probably the happiest guy that's going to buy Gt5.

The saying is don't believe what you hear, as well as don't believe what you find on the internet. Denial for some of us, yes possibly. But til it comes out no one knows. Alot of this info could be old, some new or is mixed and confuses everyone to the point were rumors start to destroy the games credibility before its actually out. Revealing your whole game (tracks) just doesn't add up in my book. No surprises from the most anticipated racing sim ever. I doubt it. There is a new interface with this game and behind it, we just don't know. Revealing EVERYTHING is like a NFL coaching handing the opposing team's coach their playbook. Not going to happen. I have to keep hope up. If the so called track list is actually official, then shame on PD. But I bet Sony will ride their 🤬 to get out more content before GT6.

There are at least 3 trucks in the game. :sly:

Keep in mind that is a teaser trailer. So who knows what will be in the final version of the game. They can show us anything in the trailer. Plus the physics and handling in the first Shift were terrible.

Just like GT5.

Of course it's all a pre-rendered cr..p, as always. I posted it just to show how pathetic EA is.

Come on!!!!!!!!
GT2, GT3 and GT4 all had some pre-rendering in their opening videos!

There has been a lot misleading talk around this game. E.g. 1:1 steering animation once confirmed by a market man is not in game and no hood view also. Makes me wonder how much time went to make damage or did the they even see the issues.

I hope PD continues to work on GT games and please do not hope for tourist trophy or another PSP game.

And? We're talking about THIS generation. EA and Codemasters are exaggerating their games in trailers. We all know how underwelming these recent games resulted.

And PD don't, the damaged Subaru Imprezza rally car was just my imagination was it.
But then again PD don't need trailers to outright lie about their game, they can do that perfectly by word of mouth.
And they were underwhelming to you, many people actually enjoy playing Gid, Dirt and NFS, as shocking as that may seem.

We saw doors flying off in a demo!
