I biggest letdown so far in my opinion, is that you can compete against Standard cars with Premium cars. Other than that It'll be awesome in my opinion.
How is that a letdown? That's a big plus for me.

NEW FLASH.
The following is an old video but it could answer one of the main questions we had. Track count. The so called official track is more than likely a tease. While waiting for GT5 I have been watching old videos and rewatched this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB1tj64fvb0. Fast forward to around 8:25. I have been saying all along that PD/Sony are hiding alot from us. Which makes perfect sense. Why reveal the whole game before its out. I think we are in for a big surprise. I think the leaked videos, official track list, and car list barely scratched the surface. I am sure most of the car list is in place though.

Can you even tune standard cars? Wow this game looks to be a huge letdown if you can't....
Because I've always thought the Standard cars look like crap, ever since I first saw them right after E3 this year. I personally think it looks odd to mix the two kinds in races, and I'd be glad if they never included them in the first place. That's just me, I know. How is that a letdown? That's a big plus for me.
Call me slow but I don't get a GT reference![]()

It's an INfamous reference.

Famine, although quite reserved about it last Friday, gave the impression he was (not joyfully) surprise with the track count. Also, his long time interpretation of the location/variation/track thing (typical japanese to turn things quite complicated) had always point out to a higher number of tracks (unique) than the ones announced.
Most likely due to the rims being essentially "premium" modeled. Therefore, they can only be attached to "premium" cars.
It would look odd to have incredibly detailed rims on a standard car.
Nevertheless, this issue was one of the biggest disappointments for me this year, regarding GT5.
It seems personalizing the standard cars (besides tuning) just isn't going to be possible.
I wish they would release a "standard rim set" as DLC, at least.

It's not in the hole, but in the words. GT5 is big on electric cars and driving skills. Besides, GT5 launch is mere days away, so it is about time KB shows his Man Furismo Jive project.Call me slow but I don't get a GT reference![]()

Wasn't that removed because of some locals being pissed about some copyright thing though?Having driven on at least Piazza del Campo, only for it not to be in GT5... confuses me.[/color][/b]
Flags were removed, not the entire track.Wasn't that removed because of some locals being pissed about some copyright thing though?
Does anybody mind telling me why standard cars cant have wheels switched?
Couldn't you buy wheels in GT4?
Can you please specify what made you think they're hiding stuff?
In that video they show some tracks in the demo and the only track not included in the game is Piazza del Campo (which I don't think will be missed if left out, and it might be a go-kart learning track).
About the 70 tracks Kazunori talked about, I think there might have been translation issues there, because if you count the tracks, there are around 27, 28 locations and around 78-80 track layouts.

iRacing, live for speed, GTR Evo, rFactor to name a few.
