I suspect this is a producer/distributor conflict. I'd imagine that, with long-standing release day traditions, shipping between sites in Europe is geared to given days and, though we might find GT to be important, they won't change trucking schedules for a single-platform release.

Sony's intent is probably still to deliver the games for release on 24th. The distributors have control from there. If you ordered online, you're likely to get it before the 26th.

That was my main concern since I ordered the G27 over the weekend. The guy on the phone thought the wheel would be optimized and the tech guy who responded to my post said he didn't know to what extent. I would call PD but that might be an issue since I don't speak Japanese. But the guys from Logitech assured me that I can return the wheel if it is not fully supported.

You already have the wheel, keep it. You might not be able to assigned buttons(rumored), but the wheel worked great in GT5P. The functions that did work there, should at least work the same in GT5. I don't regret buying the wheel at all. I took the bite back in June in preparation for this game along with my custom stand and GT5P. A month or two from now, you won't miss that 300 bucks.
 
Maybe Sony have had to use some country's supplys to compensate for the massive pre-order surge in others?

I preordered with GAME UK online but chose to collect in store, does that mean I'll have to wait till the 26th before being able to collect it??

Don't get too happy, maybe it's one of those "finished" copies, then you payed good money for a GT5 preview. lol :p

Yes, it does...if the UK release date changes of course, which it probably will.
 
For the 9th Season of 24, Jack Bauer should investigate on GT5! Kaz, Sony, Tekken and RDK would then be forced to tell all the truth!!

We are talking about Gran Turismo sales in Europe and USA, not about CoD, Halo or Killzone.
 
When you have chicks lining up to play GT5, you know it's going to be massive :)

Well it's an EU style plate with "H" in the blue box, must be Hungary for what thats worth
 
I placed a pre order with a 'friendly' independent game store and they expect the game to ship this Friday, I've been advised to call in from Saturday onwards and if it arrives they're gonna let me have it early, i'll keep you posted.

Also the game boxes they have in store promoting the pre-orders are the same as the ones owned by our Czech brothers, they look bootlegged and also have the "spark" comment on the back.
