All of the photo mode screenshots PD released were that size so I always assumed it was an option in the game. I think replay photo mode is limited to 1080 though since the renders won't look as pretty as photo travel ones.
 
Anyone else going to pick up the strategy guide with this? I remember when you'd get a free strategy guide when you bought the game from GameStop. It was the first itteration of the "bonus item"

Are they going to be selling the prima like at Amazon, and Barnes and Noble?
 
Forza 3 Utlimate Edition PAL just released on the P2P, Turn10 hold on it in October, I guess they want to go head to head with GT5 next week.

Good news then I will get that too just for collecting GT porn. :) I will have all day to play this game and my wife and kid are going to be out of town for Thanksgiving. The only thing is I have to work nights Wednesday and Thursday so I probably won't get any sleep.

Not everyone does, simple. Even in the priviledged western world, there are some areas that have very poor and even unreliable connectivity.

It sounds bad to say this and I understand some people can't afford things like internet but, why in the world would you have a PS3 with no internet connection? You would be missing out on over half the things you can do. They go hand in hand. I also slightly agree with the idea of the game fully unlocking or something to that effect through an update on the release date. The reason I think this is because a long while ago I rented the newest Wolfenstein game for PS3 and when I got home and put the game in it prompted me to download an update right away then didn't work. Then I looked into the problem and it turned out I had the game one week before its release date and the guy at the video store put it out too early. So whoever made the game (can't remember) put this in to stop people from playing it early. Just a thought.

Some folks enjoy single-player games, and thus, really don't have a need for an internet connection on their consoles. If Sony does decide to have a day-1 update, it should be EXPLICITLY stated on the game-case that an internet connection is needed to fully unlock the game. All this, of course, if any of these tinfoil theories are true.

On pre-order from my local megabookstore, release date the 23rd. If nothing else it will be pretty.

what's the point of a GT strategy guide other than knowing what you can unlock or secrets? That's all going to be revealed eventually and it's not like it can teach you to drive

That's pretty much the point. They should have all the info about what's unlocked when and they usually have some pretty good tips and things.

That's true. If I see it in the store, I'll probably just spend the extra 3-4 bucks myself. Man, snow so soon for you guys? We're still in the 60s in Jersey.

Has anyone actually seen a commercial or advertisement for GT5 besides what's been aired on SPEED?

Yup. supposed to snow this weekend, too. We usually get it this "early". Thanksgiving is actually a little late for our first snow. But last year we hardly got any...but then again, the year before that, we got 2-4 feet in 24 hours.

I'll probably check out that GT5 Art book before I spend money on it. If it's just GT5 Photomode photos, I probably won't buy it.

The ironic thing is, Turn10 will most likely be playing GT5 that day.

If its anything like their other Game Art books, GOWIII and Uncharted 2, it should be feature rich! They also have plans for an Infamous 2 book which should be sweet! They make awesome art books.

I'm guessing it's pretty common. To have your PS3 online you either need wireless, which not everyone has, or an ethernet connection in the same room as your PS3, which definitely not everyone has. I imagine amongst the people whose PS3's are offline, there would be a lot of people who still have an internet connection in the house, and update by CD.

Raced a Aston martin DB9 against eurostar passenger train. Car won
Raced a Nissan GTR against the 200mph bullit trains. Car won
Raced a Jaguar against a Peppercorn Steam train. Car won
raced a bugatti against a plane AND the eurostar train. Car won
(Great episodes btw!!!)

I whipped up a concept for my ideal GT5 controller that's not a full steering wheel setup. The HKS controller looks alright but I believe this would work way better. What do you guys think?

What about the boat vs bike vs car vs public transit? Public Transit won, car lost.
 
My PS3 is rarely online. I have a decent wired connection at home, but generally I need to let my girlfriend have that to surf the net so that I can get some quality PS3 time in. The only real chance I get ot go online is late at night of if she is out.
Having said that, needing a one off download doesnt really bother me, but I can see it being a problem for some.

I guess we will have to wait an entire week to find out for ourselves about this and all of the other details that everyone here seems to be losing sleep over. Relax

I whipped up a concept for my ideal GT5 controller that's not a full steering wheel setup. The HKS controller looks alright but I believe this would work way better. What do you guys think?

Ha... that looks pretty sweet and I'd buy it just for the novelty. But with the controller setup, I prefer the right stick for gas/brake on the Y-axis. I've stopped using the controller altogether for driving since I got the DFGT wheel; however, if I was to go back to driving with a controller and your product was in the market, I'd seriously consider it.

Thanks! And yes it would never be able to replace a wheel but for those who don't have the space / money for one I believe it would play way better than a regular controller.

dude forza has no chance of competing with GT5. Unless what he was talking about was a daimler benz 1800's something motor wagon.

The bike won, so if you consider that public transport than yes you are right.👍 I would say the car comes in first 85% of the time in their races

But im just throwing a tid bit out there. (and some episodes to watch if you have not seen them) Trains really arnt the best mode of transportation.. Cars rule. This game has over a 1000. Bring it on!:):):):)
