Wifey Pooh doesn't like the idea of turkey subs from Subway ;). I think I'll start the turkey brine on Tuesday.

She says Thanksgiving is for family. True. But we aren't gonna sit around the living room all day! Just thought of this: if I can't play GT5 on Thanksgiving Day, no FaceBook for her!!!

We bicker, we argue, we have tantrums as we disagree over minor points.

Therefore all of GTP are family.

Therefore if you don't play GT5, then come online to discuss it, you are ignoring your family and, after all, Thanksgiving is for family.

Problem solved?

just read that reviewers are getting their copy's on Monday and that the embargo is lifted on Wednesday
got the info from a Norwegian reviewer for one of the major newspapers over here

really? Thats a bit of a let down really. Thats no time at all to get into the game at all, and have a feel for it. Yet games like NFS:Hp, where reviewed a whole week before release. Even if you had played previous builds, and seen damage, etc, you need to play the whole thing. I was thinking about this last night with the copies that RDk and co have, if they were reviews copies- but had the museam, online etc, disabled, thats surely a bit they cannot review, but is integral to the whole expeirence. What if IGN came out saying statment A, but is actually untrue, and is in the game. perhaps some of the bigger sites, publications, have had a copy for a few weeks now.

I like your logic.:sly:

Wonder when we'll see the first review. The embargo was supposed to lift Oct 27 before the delay, 6 days before release. Could be as soon as tomorrow?

The embargo lifts on Wednesday 24th November which is when the UK official playstation magazine (it's meant to have a review) is due to hit shelves but subscribers will receive it early so expects review scores to be reported before then.

Further confirmation below.

I guess it makes sense that they'd want the PS mag to have it first, but it doesn't leave much to get excited about in the long week ahead :nervous:

Anyone else going to pick up the strategy guide with this?

A strategy guide? The fun thing about GT-games for me is that you can figure out your own strategy as there's more than one way to approach it.
If I get stuck in a certain mission I just look for help on this site I guess, a strategy guide to me is as useless as the driving line (never used it) as it's much more fun to figure it out yourself by trial and error.

Oh and about that Veyron picture, it sure looks like a Standard car to me, angles, angles and angles.....almost looks like a Veyron designed by Marcello Gandini.;)

seems a bit odd that the review embargo is lifted day of release.

👍 I agree. Driving skills are learned through experience. Depending on your driving style and your car setup, the driving lines could be a real hindrance. I've never used 'em. And a strategy guide is unheard of!

So the back end doesn't smoke when going sideways. I don't think so.

Sorry to drag this up, but do you think it could have been caused by engine break effect, which causes the initial smoke but then the tire heats up as you see in the video (tire heat indicator) and it continues to smoke.

Not saying this is right but it just popped into my head.

@STA1N, Not a single one of those videos you posted is new lol.
