Hmm... interesting. I have the CE ordered with Play.com and it was despatched on Sunday but hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully it'll be here tomorrow

did any of you try the online modus?

Its so difficult to get into a game, every server is just completely overloaded...

But i did get into couple of lobbies, and so far it seems like a really awesome online modus!! cant wait for organized GTP Events.

I suggest that we all get used to the game until 1st dec. and start doing GTP lobbies from 1st december on.... gives everyone enough time to familiarize with the tracks, cars, and physics

What you guys think?

I already had a hang-up. Two won races were lost this way.

Driving physics are very good but the presentation has many flaws.

Oh, and I'm not able to switch to reverse gear with my G27. There is also no button if you just use the wheel (not the gearbox) and combine it with the DS3. Very annoying...

I just put the disc in my PS3 and installed the update. Then I get a confirmation which says "Accessing game data. Please do not switch off the system while the HDD indicator is flashing." There is a flashing "OK" icon which does not respond when I confirm and the HDD indicator is not flashing at all.

Is this normal? :sick:

Bump. Anyone else experienced this? I have tried to restart and disconnet from the internet but I am stuck with this message. This is frustrating beyond anything.
 
My buddy just asked me these questions about the g27 wheels. A quick answer would be greatly appreciated. :)

"Do you know if the G27 clutch is real? Meaning you can't switch gears in the game unless its pressed? And is the stick a true H gate or just up/down gear selection?"

I had two times freeses in the loading screens but everything was saved. I just started the game new.

hi nielson It get this a lot on other games and the easiest way to stop it is sadly for you is to delete the game data utility for gt5 then let it re-install. If there and two install files and one is a update file try deleting this first and re-starting. But if this does'nt work your will have to delete all the install.

I got this advice from sony when it happened to fifa and they said that aparently ps3's have a tendacy to lose data when installing or updating.

No you can not shift gears unless the clutch is depressed.And yes it shifts in a H pattern like a real shifter.Only the G25 has the option to make shifts by moving the shifter up or down.
 
this is why I refuse to play GT5 until it is completely installed. I won't play while it installs.

Also, how do people post photomode pics? Take a picture OF a picture? Or upload it from GT5 to the internet somehow?

I'm sure you can save them to a USB drive just like GT4, then plug that into your PC and upload them to photobucket or imageshack.

I'm pretty sure that you can't play while the game installs anyway.Maybe i misunderstood what you said?
 
Those IGN videos almost made me sick. The driver is absolutely horrid. He just picks a WAY faster car and rams others out the way. In the Zonda R video he comes up behind the morrison vette on a straight and just rams him until the car spins. If he is the one reviewing the game... I dont want to read what he has to say.

So I called my EB Game store to check on the status of my pre-order Gran Turismo 5 collectors edition. They said that Sony had a short stock supply with there supplier and that they only had a select quantity left. So they have to give out the remainder copies in chronological order. I pre-ordered mine in the beggining of October and they said because I was order number 11 out of twelve that I will be receiving the first few copies tommorw.

Ok it seems that could be true. I restarted the system now and it works. Weird. I'll try to delete the game data and download the update again later. Just to make sure everything goes smoothly (if possible).

Ummm huh? I got one this weekend and it sure does support 900 degrees for me in GT5P! The Eiger Nordwand track became WAY easier because of this :D

How do you get to settings to adjust the amount of force feedback though? Don't think I've seen those settings when playing with the wheel this weekend...

Go to options on the main menu the go down to were you see the wheels. The first option on the left should say steering settings, in there at the bottom is where you set the force feedback settings.

I know the wheel can turn the full 900 degrees in the game but I don't think it does anything past about half a turn of the wheel so the ingame animation of the wheel kinda matches what your do with your wheel.

For the best feelings...Active stability control - off---feedback strengh at least in 5 or more depends on the wheel...for G25 and 27 more than 5 always.

Thanks I'll give those settings a try. What does the active stability controls do then? I had a quick read of there description and it seemed like a good idea to keep them on.
 
Can anyone confirm that you can import GT5:P cars into GT5's Arcade Mode? Or is it PSP-only now?
 
yes yes man, i can't believe i'm holding my collector's edition! got a message that i could pick it up at the store, but i still had to work a couple hours, sloooow hours :)

Anybody knows when the codes to get chrome cars will work? And where is the dynamic theme, I have SE but dont know where that theme is

It was the same with the hour long Gamespot special. People kept asking him questions and he didnt know why his premium civic could do rim changes or race modifications. Then when asked to review the top gear track, he chooses the samba buses and picks a standard car when showing off weather effects so we cant see interior >.< made me wanna punch something

I was just about to post that. My CE arrived today in the mail, and my code for the 5 extra cars and dynamic theme didn't work either. I assume that, since the game is 'officialy' released tomorrow, the extra content is just not available yet.
