So...
I've just played for a few hours now , and god it's good. You can say whatever you wan't about the track and car list , but omg , the driving physics are just so unbelievably good. Also , a lot of improvement with the AI. They are finally doing something else than just drive behind each other in the perfect line. Its very cool. Track editor. one word , Awesome with capital A. With this feature you're able to create stunning tracks , sometimes something rolls out to be even better than most real life circuits.

Than there are the car sounds... I haven't driven many cars , but the one I did (including Lambo Gallardo , Ferrari Cali , SLS) are all so great. You may not even notice it , but when you drive trough a tunnel with one of those beasts , an instant smile is put on your face.

Then there are the graphics. The thing that should have the biggest roll , but turns out to be not so big after all.
The graphics are great. No , they are very VERY good. But they aren't stunning in the way Uncharted 2 is stunning. The graphics are just amazingly good , but not the best ever seen. The only thing I didn't like about the graphics is the color pallet , which could be a little brighter , and the shadows. The shadows are still those god damn stupid pixel like blocks.
But that's everything. The premium cars are simply STUNNING. It's really wonderful. The standard cars don't look as good as the premium ones , but I don't see that as a to big problem. The graphics of the standards are just very good. Little tap better than most recent racing games.

Also there is the photomode. Very nice. Every camera like setting you could think of is in. The only thing that isn't in is RAW. format shooting. But this wont be a problem to the non-photographers. I , as a photography fan , would love it. But anyway , the picture quality is just immense. It really looks like real life. I'm going to take some shots to hang up in my bedroom.

Although there are some cars and tracks missing , I doubt you can't enjoy yourself with such an immense selection of great and wonderful cars that some of us never even get to see. The track editor makes it up for the lack of some great tracks that many of us would love to see.

BUT... There are some disappointment for me. Little details like the 'Reasonably priced cars' and the opportunity to start from a stand-still on the TG track. Also stuff like adding a hood view to all cars. I really feel like 'how hard can it be ?'.

Outside these small details , the game is just perfect. I still has some issues like freezing sometimes , but all these things , including the details, can be patched and updated. Something I do see happening.

I'm not going to give this game a number. I don't believe in numbers. Numbers are relative.

At the moment , i'm waiting for the game to install. Now i'm done with writing this post , i'm going to check out the APEX book and all the other cool stuff that did come with the SE edition. :)
Meanwhile I'm going to select some of my own music to put in the game.

Something i have now found out , yes the AI cheats slightly but i have found out that it is harder to complete special events if your level is low , for example on the top gear one , if you try and do it straight off after unlocking your so slow that the AI seems to whip your behind , however once you start leveling higher it gets bucket loads easier , at the moment i am now at level 5 (i haven't had much time to play unfortunately as it took so long to install!) and i can get to 7th place in just the first lap. also i am not sure if the licenses are connected to this aswell.

Does anyone else find B-Spec painful to watch? My driver has a car more powerful than any of his opponents but he can't overtake anyone and often loses places cause he can't drive

an interesting fact for people to complain about... even though the game has the option to map the "horn" to a button; if you dont update to version 1.01 you dont have the horn sounds. i thought that i would play first without updating the game, i reached lvl9. i didnt have horn sounds. as soon as the game began after updating there were the horns as a gift in the items. another interesting tidbit, right beside the restrictions icon in the main menu for each race series there now appears a button that gives you a list of cars that you can expect to race against in that series. that wasnt there before the update. those are the only differences besides the obvious lack of open lobby and community tabs. its interesting that they are mentioned and pictured in the booklet but arent originally on the disc... still an amazing game. specially the track maker. i worked on a track for Race-07 on the PC for like 3months and barely made it halfway before i gave up. track maker is a miracle worker.

Did you REALLY believe B-Spec Bob would be on the pace as soon as you started? No way, you have to train him just like GT4, no surprise there.

How can you miss the Q&A section? there's currently 739 people viewing it. Your question has been asked hundreds of times.

Ah, my mistake. I've been paying more attention to the video and picture threads and didn't look over that.

It looks like GT5 celebrates birthdays. Mine is today, so upon starting GT Life mode, I was given a ticket for a car from my birth year! 👍

Did you get a list of all the cars for you birth year or did you have to go through all the dealerships and find one?The latter option would suck.

I've been playing the game for a couple of days now, and have found this evening that the game is taking an eternity to load between pages. I have the game installed on the hard drive. Anyone else with the same problem?

Random question here as i don't want to read too much in the forums and spoil discovering stuff in the game when it arrives, but i was wondering if the track designer lets you make point to point courses rather than circuits, and if so is there anything to stop you buidling a loooong straight for max speed testing, like VW's Nardo track? I've found in previous games (though more so in Forza than GT) that for some of the faster cars you can never really get them up to maximum speed, as they lose speed on the banked corners.

I guess if point to point isn't possible, a very long oval would be ok!

Thank you very much PD GT5 is the business . G27 is a must! The driving is so addictive.

This is soooo awesome:drool: Thank you PD, thank you

Kaz-san, arigato gozaimasu!

By the way, anyone know about that limited edition Jaguar xj13 they're giving out via GranTurismo on Facebook?

I could reach the max speed of Veyron or any other in the Oval Speed Test Track in GTPSP.

I think you can do the same in GT5.

As anyone experiencing long load times between menus? Mainly back from dealers to GT Life.
i do. also sometimes from win car screen.. like the game stops read hdd or semothing.. will can hope for patch.

Quick piece of info for the Canadians....
Picked up my CE at lunch toaday from EB Games and the guy told me that Sony short shipped the CE versions and that they also won't have the codes for the extra cars till Friday. If you pre ordered a CE, better get there quick before they're gone. Our store was handing out the CE packages based on when you pre ordered it, but not every store is obligated to do that. Lots of non CE versions on the shelf.

My boss' Amazon order is delayed till December the last he heard. HA!

Mine is loading while I'm at work..........woohoo!

I thought it had crashed twice, it must be linked to the online servers.

You can increase the brightness by upping the EV in the options menu or when you pause and bring up the options 👍
