The driver on the manual looks pretty pixelated :/ strange for a game that took 6 years in the making...

I also found that I have to set the screen size to 95% to see the red borders even though my dipsplay is 1920x1080 and am using HDMI.
Any reason why it's not 100%

By the way, when I picked it up and entered the code for the Mclaren Stealth car and NASCAR car from Gamestop, it only gave me the NASCAR car.

So does anyone else have the McLaren? And if so, how did you get it?

I agree completely. I take it you have ABS set to off then and it is working fine with your G27?
Did you have to do as another member here suggested, turning wheel full lock left/right and stamping on all pedals to calibrate when on track or did it just work?

I have everything off except ABS on 1, its fine. Didnt do the wheel thing or stomp on the pedals.

Cant say I am massively impressed with the game but I have only given it an hour and a half of my time. Gearchange on 6MT (with my G27) is a pain in the ass. AI seems poor. Interfaces are painful.

Ill persevere but given the limited time I get for gaming it's going to have to deliver a better experience to keep me off the more sim like PC racers I have and F1 2010 on PS3.

Its certainly not what I expected with the development time and hype it's had.

Ill reserve judgement until I have something more interesting to drive in GT5.

Ah, try ABS at "0" and see if you have problems too with the G27?
GT5 has alot of good points man, worth sticking with it I'd say.
You an iRacing subscriber? That's what I'm spending most of my time at at the moment

Mine was scratched up too - and it feels really cheap. I think I could get one engraved at the mall that would look better.

Well spotted mate Didn't even realise the bloody thing was set to normal instead of full pixel.

I think I just dipped the throttle on turning into the first corner then full throttle through the rest.

I have both cars from Gamestop. The code was not on the receipt like I was told it should have been so I called the store back and he gave me a code over the phone and it gave me both cars.

my driver book is pixelated too,it looks pretty bad.

Bad thing is there are a few pictures in the book that are pixelated.

Mine is fine. I assume your box was sealed, must have happened at the factory/packaging. It would be worth writing to them for a replacement.

The whole thing, game/packaging/literature/etc., feels quite rushed. I don't get it after all these years. Sloppy if you ask me.

Have everyone try the different zoom option for cockpit view? What's your favorite? Mine is the Zoom, Wide is too far back and Extra Zoom is a little too close.

Anyone found problem with data logger?

I was doing a practice run at Tsukuba and after the run I went into data logger, played the lap once then a problem happened. The lap played itself again without sound and all buttons on the wheel and the controller do nothing except the centre ps3 button that allows me to quit the game. After that lap, the game is pretty much hung. 6 years in the making...

^ It's nice that they included a FOV setting. I think I like "Narrow" best (the medium setting). If only there was a "look to apex" function and adjustable seat position too...

I just came here to say that after reading this forum and getting bogged down in damage talk and shadow talk etc I was pretty worried.

I just got the game today and set up my wheel, got all the setting right and bought a premium MX-5 '89...

So first I see a few dodgy shadows and some weird artifacting as the race starts :/

I run into a bunch of cars and get my bearings... then I jostle for position and get some clean air. I charge through a series of corners at high revs, I just lift off the accelerator a bit and the back of the car comes round. The car is responsive, lively... I have this feeling of control and can almost feel all the work that is being done in the software and hardware physics wise...

Suddenly I realize this game is AMAZING... Easily the best racer ever.

Ive played it a while now can see PD has put the effort where it counts. Now the game is just gorgeous to me... Some games might have better looking tracks at times, but in those games you can't FEEL the track beneath you like it's really there.

If you are like I was and concerned, don't be. If you truly love cars and the thrill of driving you will not be disappointed.

P.s. Buy a wheel, no excuses. (oh and I use the analog paddles as accelerate and brake, is that weird? feels natural to me)

I can see and feel your love for the game. It's just awesome, as it feels so good to be back behind the wheel does it not?

The headtracking is great for looking at the apex... just a little look and the camera slightly moves to the apex you need quite a large screen otherwise it doesnt work I imagine

Does the room need to be well lit for this to work? I usually have the room dark.

I have a 32" and 50" TV. The tracking work in both but it's a lot better with the 50.

Same for G25 too. You can`t assign the buttons to anything
