I'm in the Professional A-Spec cups now and I'm getting my balls handed to me. This is my first GT game (outside of GT5 Prologue) and I'm also playing with a gamepad so I have the odds stacked against me right now. Can't wait for my DFGT wheel to get here.

I hate getting 0.01 seconds off gold for licenses!!!

I finally got gold on the Lotus challenge. I'm saving this replay and if they ever implement the YouTube function, I will load this.

I just did Sarthe and the 'ring for the first time. The thing is, I did it in my fully tuned McLaren F1 Stealth Model in cockpit view with my force feedback level 10 g27.

AMAZING!

I'm actually sweating.

And my ears hurt 👍

Nurburgring in this game feels nothing like in GT4. It's almost like a completely different track.

In a good way.

You Know your Addicted To GT5 When........

............First thing you do when you wake up you Switch on the PS3 before you even get out of Bed or Make a Coffee :)

So, I'll have some dirty standard car photos up tomorrow.

But, I also noticed at the ending movie, it says the Opening Theme is...."Moon Over Castle GT5 Edition"...despite me being in the US.

I was thinking GTR style; it was just sooo right. I'm tempted to get the Eye thingy just for this. How large screen do you reckon it takes to get enough head movement for it to be effective?

From what I've read, headtracking only works in Arcade and practice mode.
Juat a heads up, before you rush out and buy a camera.

And cut your sleeping time down to 5 hours ... *yawn*:indiff:

:dopey: I finished the SambaBus and Elise challenge both in 1st. Slipstream actually helps. It got me into 2nd on the 1st lap of the SambaBus challenge. 👍

Just like spending the entire day b-spec'ing while you work on the side :D

Haha, this game is great.

It's my birthday today, so the GT gave me a 1982 ticket to choose any car I want from the year I was born :)

Someone with the ability should make a thread regarding time trial laps at Tsukuba..

Tsukuba is home to most famous time attack competitions (for low to medium powered cars) in the world ...

👍

But even Tsuchiya agrees, Fuji is better suited to the more high powered cars and the daring mid powered.

Happy Birthday, and I wonder how many '88 cars are in the game...?

EDIT: My best choice is the Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary '88. :)

I'm an '82, so that's a no go. However, I must have done something wrong, because I got an Audi Quattro from that same year. Oh well :indiff:

Anybody, has a vid or can help with the samba topgear challenge. I cant get 1st place, only 2nd over and over.

Oh damn I'm an '82 as well - wonder how much that is worth to sell :sly:

yeah thats true, but the time attacks at Tsukuba are much more entertaining to watch i believe.. plus with such a short lap time (sub 1 minute) the differences in times can be down to the hundredths and thousandths of a second..

someone should start a Tsukuba Thread though.. i have no qualms looking after it i just dont have enough posts to start a thread, as im a gtp noobie 👍

perhaps you start it XEPEGTP??

Dood, thanks for stretching the tables.

Anyways 28 hours AFTER finally buying the game, I've opened it up and started playing. I had an exam to write on the 25th (now 3:00 am on the 26th) so I couldn't touch it or else I'd probably get wasted on the exam just thinking about cars. So far its pretty decent. Some good and some bad. SS5 was somewhat of a disappointment, no more nice Tokyo style neon signs with PD GT all over.

I'm mainly concentrating on special events and licensing with a few A spec races. I've bought 2 cars so far Honda Civic Type R and Subaru STI 2011' US sedan. I've got a whole bunch from preordering and also from the CE with 5 chrome cars. Damn the Audi R8 in white looks NICE at night on the SSR7 with rain via exterior view.

Anyone feel the A spec early beginner class are lacking? Theres like only 12-15 events and that's puny from what I remember.

Try to slipstream everybody you can. I wish they had the YouTube function implemented so I can post a video.

That's what i've been doing, its just that last bus I can just see the end of it when its turning in at gambon. Really wish that feature worked too. Yutubed for solutions but none, only see the Elise race which I've done. Thanks anyway:tup:

Hm, after the 1st lap of the race I completed it on, I was 2nd. I just kept on the throttle and slid my way around the corners, braking late and passing them around corners. If you can be atleast 7th going around Hammerhead and 6th into the final turn of the 1st lap, you should be good. Just know the brakes won't act the same the 2nd lap.

It's only one lap, not two. Am talking about the special events samba bus race...are you sure you've not confused it.

Aren't you talking about the Top Gear SambaBus Challenge?

The beginner challenge with the bus is 2 laps.

And 2 of the longest laps I never want to drive again. :dopey:

The Lotus there was a blast, though. 👍
