BINGO 👍 I have no idea what KAZ/SONY/PD where thinking : They dropped the ball with the rain effect end of story. What a shame 👎

look at this rain effect

Those droplets seem to be static. In gt5 they are dynamic.

The general quality of the graphics and effects are far superior in F1 2010. Shame about the handling though :D Feels like mariokart.

Check this Monaco comparison.

Dude if one looks good...and the other is a completely unrealistic failed effect..which one would you go with?

by the way did you play the video ? what do you mean they look static ?

Is it possible to lower the audio from cars around you? When I am racing and in a pack of other drivers, I can not hear my own engine, all I hear is the others. The sound for the surrounding cars are way to loud.

I got it by completing the Grand Turismo World Championship in Expert series :)

I have a question...my friend bought the standard edition of GT5 but now he wants the CE so will he's progress in the game continue or he will have to start all over again?!

When does the Nurburgring North Course get unlocked? I looked for it in the track list but couldn't find it! :( Same thing with the Top Gear Test Track! Which level do you have to be at to unlock those tracks?! Thanks!

Listen carefully

Do NOT judge this game's graphics until you have gone through Fuchsrohr successfully at 340km/h in your modified Mazda 787B while braking at the latest possible point while amazingly managing to make the apex slightly sideways in cockpit view *deep breath*

It is AMAZING at 60fps in cockpit view with the trees and shadows flying by while bursts of sunlight light up parts of your alcantara steering wheel. I just can't put into words how incredibly smooth and vivid the Nurburgring is at those speeds. My mind is completely blown.

Top gear track gets unlocked when you complete samba bus challenge in special events. Nordschleife when you complete intermediate challenge on AMG driving school in special events. IF you get all siver in AMG intermediate you unlock 4hour nurburgring course, dunno about gold cause haven't got all gold.

I mean that the droplets don't move. But after giving it a closer look it seems that I was wrong. The droplets move slowly.

Sounds good... 👍

Is damage on for time trial mode?

Okay, thanks bud I wasn't sure how to spell it! Hehehe :dopey:

Why does the old Dodge Challenger have 400+ HP but tops out at around 112 mph? :( Someone please help, thanks.

Old-muscle cars weren't designed for speed, just noise and tire-rubber :dopey:

Using my GT4 experience, try tinkering with the Gear Ratio's.

OK ..But also I wouldn't call those in GT5 droplets... they look more like volcano ash :dopey:

No bother man ;)

So anyone know why I can't get 5.1/7.1 working? Is there some settings i have to mess with or is there an issue outputting multichanel with optical?

I quote myself because it's quite important.

Most of the old muscle cars top out at around 120-130mph to the best of my knowledge, though some get there scarily fast! 112 does seem a tad slow though, I know PD have sometimes got the default gearing wrong (I seem to remember this with a Corvette Stingray and a Zonda in previous games) but yeah just change the gear ratios, use the main slider to widen them if you don't want to mess with it too much.

My first impressions of this game - Liking it a lot but finding it a little hard to understand why people are going nuts about the physics? I think perhaps it is more realistic with a wheel, and i'm playing it with a controller, but i;m just not fully feeling it yet, though I am doing ok. To me the game suffers from the sydrome of a lot of car racing games, that the car kinda feels like it is on castors and tracks unrealistically from side to side when steering normally (rather than oversteer/drifting where such lateral motion is understandable)

I always look for driving games to behave whereby when you steer, you are effectively orientating the nose of the car in a direction and the rear wheels, in a sense, rotate on the spot and then drive it in that direction (though obviously not this literal as the car is contantly moving forward) but with GT5 and many other games I feel the cars "strafe" a little...it's often more apparent in replays but in this I feel it when driving too. I also feel although people seem to be pleased with apparently less understeer, I think even at low speeds, lock the steering and the car snaps sideways across the track a little unrealistically.

It might be because it's a while since I played GT, I never had GT5P and have recently been playing Forza 1 and Ferrari: The Race Experience which has very different handling, but I like it a lot. That said, it could be because I don't have any particularly fast cars in GT5 yet so I guess they are bound to steer tightly. And i'm still enjoying it tons, the car candy, beloved tracks and cool new tracks, and I love how *all* of the standard cars are on rotation in the used dealership...I know I should be saving money but I keep having to buy impractical cars, like a tail-happy Alpine which is really struggling in the classic car challenge :)

You gotta get a wheel man ;)

If you want to try an uber-realistic proper sim try iRacing or netKar-pro on the PC if you have a gaming PC.

Yeah was hoping to get a DFGT for Christmas but i think i need a decent TV first, playing on an old 20" CRT TV, not great! Can't even read some of the text. I guess I am limiting my experience of the game in some ways, but i'm still having a blast with it :)

The game itself is exactly the same. No need to reinstall...

CE just has some additional stuff like APEX book and chromeline cars as DLC.
