Okay, my first impressions of the new car pack (have also bought the 'big oval' but haven't yet driven it enough to give any verdict).
Must say in general I love this pack, or at least most cars in it, the Aventador is simply amazing compared to the Murcielago and looking forward to putting a lot of miles on the 3 examples I already bought (nothing more to add really).
The V12 Vantage (also already bought 3 of them) is very nice yet I don't find (so far I must add) it offers any true significantly different experience than the DB9, in fact when I first drove it and saw the interior I thought I mistakenly selected a DB9.
Ofcourse God is in the detail and I have to drive it much more than a few rounds on the Ring and Spa to give any real judgement.
And now for something completely different, the Leaf, I don't mind a few electric cars in GT5 (the Tesla and even the I-Miev are quite fun to drive) but to be honest they're a bit like those Victorian cars in GT4, nice curiosities to be added in a whole package but hardly signifcant or relevant to a driving game made to enthuse petrolheads.
This car then is nicely modelled with a nice looking interior and to drive it you experience....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Sorry, hate to make it sound like a cliche and was hoping for something that makes it slightly interesting but I'm afraid it only can offer fun in a dedicated online race perhaps.
Now I was looking forward to the MINI Countryman (even though I hate the new generations of Minis, love the original) since it could offer something truly different than the Minis already in the game.
But instead of offering the obvious 4wd version which would do that and make it the first Premium SUV, PD decided to include the FF version....
So we now have another MINI, a very big one, which is okay to drive (on tarmac) and at least offers a new variant of the Fischer Price style interiors to look at but could've been so much more.
The Beetle is simply lovely and hugely enjoyable so far to drive, I was pleasantly surprised you could tune it to the level of the Samba bus and the ' aero kit' options are both subtle and completely bonkers and all the better for it.
This way you can (visually) make completely different cars which suits the context of the Beetle as it's perhaps the most customized car in history.
Ofcourse those wings are ludicrous and frankly hideous yet I couldn't resist putting one of each on 2 of my 4 Beetles (it's just a videogame after all, don't have to take them out on the streets

).
What I don't understand though is the choice of wheels offered, why include only contemporary wheels for a classic when they've could've added those Torq Thrust wheels (which you can fit on the Samba) or even those NASCAR wheels would've been a better fit than the current selection.
The only ones which are slightly acceptable are the BBS RS ones but only when painted black in my opinion (and only when accompanied by one of those ridiculous wings

).
Am I forgetting one? Nope, finally the Jag, it's simply perfect.
The cockpit view is absolutely gorgeous and I think PD has found a new method of replicating rough textures or fabrics (cloth and suede, etc.) which I first noticed in the Toyota 86 and which makes it appear more real than the first batch of Premium cars.
I was surprised how easy this car is to drive, so well balanced and without drama yet never becoming dull.
So bring on the next Group C car in the following DLC.
