I was just online with a guy and he said he said the same thing lol

I also only realised this for the first time the night before last. It adds a mini icon next to their larger lounge icon when they are in a room and you can join from there. Quicker than going to the lobby menu and typing in the room code.

I was wondering if PD would make the Toyota TS030 since its been shown to public now? :D

I'd say they'd release it in the middle of the year around Le Mans time.

Of course there's a good chance GT/Sony could sponsor the team as they have a reasonable history sponsoring teams and the event, and with Peugeot gone, they need a new team.

would love that just have a listen, love the way the engine just sort wakes up and is like here I am!

Since I recently tried the new time trial, has anybody else noticed how HUGE the FT 86 is on the screen? It takes a lot of space.

I remember when we first were able to download it, and my God, it's wide in 3rd person mode.

Yes, it isn't the only one which is unusually big or actually smaller than most other cars.
From memory (don't use this view myself), the Premium R32 and R33 Skylines (although the R33 has been fixed since) the Premium Nissan Silvia spec-R AERO ’02 for example are all bigger like the FT86 whilst the Premium classic Chevy Camaro and Mach1 Mustang for example are smaller than usual.
It's an inconsistency only found, oddly enough, in the Premium selection and whilst some are fixed, other remain like they are.
It's worth noting that it isn't the scale which is different (although it first appears like that) but the field of view.

Peugeot isn't "gone" for this years Le Mans, just the works effort is gone, there will still be private entries of the 908 HDi FAP. I can't correctly remember if the Matmut Peugeot had GT5 branding...

On a different note altogether... I'm not sure why this hasn't been brought up or addressed before in an update to GT5, but it is about the Leaderboard while racing online. During qualifying, I would like it in GT5 if the Leaderboard was more intuitive. For example, currently in GT5 during qualifying in an online lounge, if you set a fast time and decide to return to the pits, your time still stays recognized but your username will fall off of the Leaderboard. Why can't it just stay listed in order of the fastest times? Sometimes qualifying sessions are too long and I'll decide to return to the pits to get my car off of the track as I grab a beer or something... A better update would include the lap time next to the username of who set the time. It would look something like this... (Use your imagination)

Total Time: 7:48.456~

Best Lap: 1:28.099

NoonenF1 - 1:28.099
PlayerX - 1:28.242
PlayerY - 1:28.304
PlayerZ - 1:29.123

An update that would change the Leaderboard thusly would be greatly appreciated by me!

During online races it would be sweet if one's fastest lap was noted on the Leaderboard too, but I don't want to ask for too much!

I am learning tonight just how much of a difference can be made using a steering wheel as opposed to a basic gamepad.

My first steering wheel experience in GT Mode was made when I did the GT86 Time Trial Seasonal around Tsukuba. With a better feel of the road and in steering, I had to adjust my driving technique to handle Tsukuba with my Toyota GT 86. The first real challenge was to keep my car stable under braking and powering out of corners. I had to drive a bit more defensively just to try to avoid spinning the car out haphazardly. A key moment was made when I improved my initial lap time. The difference, however, was not by very much. I went from 1:14.196 to a 1:14.068.

I noticed that my driving around Daytona was getting better using my Driving Force Pro. So what I did was do the Stars and Stripes event with my Ford GT on Racing Hard tires. I had much better feel of the road as I could just easily steer the car properly to better feel of the road. Plus... I rarely had to use the brakes! In fact, I actually cleared laps around Daytona without needing to brake or get off the throttle with my Ford GT.

Confidence building, I then decided to visit the Jeff Gordon NASCAR School events. The first order of business was to see if the wheel was doing better for me. So I took on the Intermediate level challenges. I started with the Daytona-Inside challenge. After a few tries, I managed to clear the event with Gold (I had Silver previously). I then took on the Indy-Inside challenge- Gold in maybe 1 or three tries. Here's the REAL kicker... Daytona-Outside: Gold on the first try! Indianapolis-Outside: Gold on the first try, despite scraping the outside wall! Afterwards, I took on the second Beginner-level challenge that I previously got Silver in. Finally cleared that one with Gold. I didn't improve anything else except for the first of the Advanced challenges (two laps out of the pits). I think my previous best was 4th in that one.

So if anyone needs a moral to this story, a steering wheel can do you much better if you're looking for that extra little advantage. I am becoming a bit more confident with using my DFP, but there's still a lot of work to be done for me to be any sort of established wheel racer.

The ORECA Matmut Peugeot never had GT5 branding, and ORECA will be running Toyotas in 2012, so no Peugeot for them.

Also, I'm pretty sure I heard that Peugeot wouldn't be allowing any private entries, but I can't find it in writing at the moment.

I got a DFGT this past holiday and my game has stepped up considerably too. With the DS3 I raced mid-pack online, mainly because I was prone to mistakes. Now with the DFGT I regularly race top 5 to top 3. The wheel allows you to be so much more consistent and you have a much greater control of the car too.

Just watching the new series of Top Gear at the moment and theyre taking an Aventador, an McLaren mp4-12c and Noble M600 on Imola...

Makes me wish we had Imola in GT5... sure would be nice for DLC *wink wink, nudge nudge*

So now PD needs at the 2011 Peugot and Audi and the 2012 Toyota :D

This is off-topic but I like to see Kaz's washing his car..:)

^^neat video! Thanks for sharing! 👍

*cue GT Auto and 50 credit car wash jokes*

-> I want that Gran Turismo license plate. :grumpy:

*Cue update & DLC hysteria* :sly:

This one is talking about some kind of display and event PD seems to be holding in conjunction with Nissan at Fuji Speedway some time next week. (according to google translator)

This is talking about the Spec II disc going on sale 👍

Checked Kaz's twitter and there's nothing mentioned about an update, DLC or the Nissan event...

Do I remember correctly: tuesday = update maintenance, thursday = normal maintenance?

Thanks for translating, MrDinosaw94. I wonder why they have a new article for Spec 2 going on sale? Hasn't it been on sale in Japan for a while?

Come on, do you really expect another dlc that fast? :) I think it will be some minor update for some of the latest bugs, nothing more.
