just like GT5 to be honest. There are about 350 unique cars out of ~1050.

911 models vary quite a lot as well. There are literally dozens of worth noticing versions

Lets see if PD will do something about it in GT5 or 6. If not, most probably I won't buy a PS4 and stick to MS consoles (bought a ps3 just for GT5) but it'd mean buying a new wheel.

M$ power in action (the dollar sign is the most important in this sentence)... another big blow in the face of PD... :nervous:

Quiet now, you'll only set Tenacious D off on one of his M$ are rich, Sony are poor tirades for the 257th time.

Let's stick to facts shall we for now. Which is that we do not know how much money was involved, how much M$ paid up directly and if PD could afford the same through Sony. We just do not know, so guessing and assuming is pointless.

There should be a car editor, like the track editor, in the next update.
(joke , impossible)

Where did you get this list? you can easily find 30 GREAT differents models of Porsches :
with 30 models, Forza can cover all the main glorious Porsche history along with the current 2012 models
- Racing legends cars (le Mans 917k, 956, etc...)
- WW-Porsche 914
- Bullit's Porsche 356
- Porsche 918 Spyder
- Porsche 912
- Porsche Carrera GT
- Porsche 928
- Porsche 935
- etc...

Licensing in game is the true evil of our time... especially EXCLUSIVE licensing which forbid others to get the same cars and allows fair competition between games. F#@$#G GREED!

(These are the porsches from Forza 3)

No, just no. The Porsche license that EA has is far from being expired. Turn 10 only managed to be able to get these Porsches for Forza 4 through a sub-licensing deal, just as they had before.

Unlikely to affect GT5 at all.

it's the easiest thing to include more ruf or similar tuners, but they can't even manage that..
so why would anyone think they spend money on a sub-license ..

How in the world would it be "the easiest"? HOWWW?

rhetorical question, because you made an ignorant statement.

which means porsches will never be in GT5.

Turn10's DLC definitely destroyed PD's first approach on this subject. Not only they make 10 brand new cars a month (whereas we get about 1 really), but 30 more semi-exclusives are coming in may.

I don't think anyone can seriously disagree with that.

Well, to be blunt, they make AVAILABLE 10 brand new cars a month. It's really the First Day DLC that makes people negatively perceive the way FM gets DLC.

\/\/\/ what the hell?

PD had ample opportunity to plant their flag in Forza's belly and solidify itself at the forefront of sim-racing prestige. However, the only flag it seems to be waving is the white one. Forza is providing to its fans exciting car packs, a look into the future with Horizon, and most importantly...constant communication with its fanbase. It doesn't matter how Turn10 was able to pull off the Porsche deal, the point is, it's going to happen for their customers and they seem quite happy. It's possible that PD has something up their sleeve, but in my honest opinion, the time for bringing out the big guns has passed.

I sense GT Planet is going to be barraged by Forza fanboys who feel the need to promote/defend the franchise when the need to do so really isn't there.

Hint - Some of these will have low post counts and will have a history of creating threads fishermen style.

What's a shame is the game with the greater carlist is the game series that's doing worse. GT always sells high, and always closer to 10 million (GT5 has some work to do), but Forza managed to hardly sell 1 mil copies.

If this is true, that Turn10 has snagged Porsche...well, that's another manufacturer for PD's current backlog list, which is VERY high at the moment (20 manufacturers or so).

If you own both consoles, +10 for you. :)

If only own a Sony console, like me..... :(

This is the same boat I'm in, man, and the silence from PD right now is, well, deafening.

This is typical PD behavior. We wait and wait some more. Would be nice if they'd throw us a video of March's DLC. Get us inspired and talking again!

Yep. I feel quite bad when I don't see even 1 tweet by kaz or some news regarding GT5... its really, really sad. The good thing is that when this happen I spend more time in some other games, (just bought a PSP and bought GTAIV complete edition for PS3), then GT5 feels fresh again.

I just hope all the silence means something big. T10 talks a lot, first because they're an american company, thus making it easier to communicate... it's an occidental company, and we talk a lot, compared to the japanese people that prefer to work in peace and silence (in most cases...not that japanese companies don't speak english, but we know PD style) and because T10 already made his homework... (they had a lot of cars modeled and ready for day 1 DLC, wich I can't say if its good or wrong...)

EA have strong partnerships with Sony and MS... they have to to reach the maximum audience. I can't see why PD couldn't do the same deal with EA if they wanted to. How can EA give the deal to MS and not Sony? PD sell a ton of GT games... they can afford it through future DLC pricing. And Kaz is a Porsche fan so you would think they would find a way for him to get his GT3 into the game.

The only issue I see is it takes PD much longer to model cars than Turn 10. Still, if they wanted to work the deal, they could sell 3- 4 DLCs over the course of the same amount of months... each with a few key Porsche cars in it. That would bring in quite a bit of cash for PD. It would get mine :)

Wrong. Turn10 owns the Ferrari license (on PC,360) and i think they put some pressure towards EA.

For example: " Give us the permission to use Porsche or we will reject your request about our Ferrari license"

Freeman_Cruz
Hmmm ... Turn10 just announced an upcoming DLC pack with 30 cars from Porsche.

Considered that prior EA had refused to give a sublicense to MS as it had done before with others Forzas, does this mean that it has terminated the contract of exclusivity of EA with Porsche?

http://www.xboxfront.de/news-2206-28636-Forza_Motorsport_4_Microsoft_Xbox_360.html

No. EA owns the Porsche license.

Well Bathurst is going to be in GT5 or GT6.

If they are collecting data for the first time now then obviously it will be on GT6 only or avaliable next year or late this year at the earliest.

As far as Porsche license goes. Anyone can have it as long as pay for it ;)

It's what I think too... I wouldn't be surprise to see Ferraris in the next NFS games

No matter what Ferrari EA include, the car won't be able to save their games from being absolute 🤬.

since when the quality of a game is in the equation? :sly:
look at the WRC license, owned by blackbean = TERRIBLE

Unfortunately in this big business monopoly, it's VERY rare that quality rhymes with huge amount of money...

And GT5 by the way is loosing quickly the graphic crown to this "ALPHA" game.... seeing some screens from Chromatic9: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=214037&page=49

PC's are better than game consoles. GT was only revered as having the best graphics for a racing game on game consoles.

The gameplay graphics are extremely held back because of the system's power.

What about a other Racing Game on Xbox 360.... GT was known as the Game with the best graphics before September 2011.

Ok anyway.

Are some News or New rumours Out there?

Nice, Literal-Sally.

I said "was revered". And the PS3 can't handle all the detail, that's a fact. The PS3 doesn't have enough memory. The detail level of the cars, the infinitely better interior views in GT5.

Sacrifices were made. 360 PS3 each have their pros. There's no where else to go with this.

No, Sherlock.

So people know, NO CRAP FM4 looks amazing. I don't deny it. I didn't even say GT5 has the best graphics, gameplay-wise. BUT I prefer that natural look it has a lot more than FM4's look (I never made a biased statement, I knew how to word it, and he proved my point that people like to be sly and take things too literally for their gain in an argument). The only reason I don't have that game, no support for the DFGT.
