The new build of Nordschleife looks so much better with all these camping site around the track. I think I can easily get distracted and crash like him. As far as I know, these campers come to see a big race like Nurburgring 24hrs. My question is, if you go for a time trial in GT5, will the campers still be around? Anyhow I like the new trees, at least they have more variations

Watch the third video in the first post of the "New Nürburgring Video(s) thread" and tell me if you notice something. ;)

The Nordschleife alone doesn't have all the campers! The attention to detail in this game is incredible!

3D trees!!! yes! LOL
Did you watch video posted by mikepoint in page 713? 1.05-1.15 you can clearly see the trees is made same way as gt5p, but i dont care...it still looks so amazing!!

Did someone Noticed the Starting Grid was only for 10 Cars...what happened to 16 Cars races?

There are many though! :dopey:  :trouble:

After viewing the first nurb video on the news page, has anyone noticed on the menu screen: Real Track/Germany. I wonder if the 20 locations info is actually countries around the world? (if already discussed sorry)

I have figured that when i 1st heard the news about the 20 locations 70 layout news. Sometime people just want to panic GT5 will be amazing

Two words: Game build

In the demos before there have been only 8. This time its up to ten, but its nothing to be alarmed about. The demos always have low car counts.

Theres always lots of talk about trees... Am I the only person whos watching the road and not the trees when driving?:dopey:

Uh if an off road section ends up in the game for rallying, I will certainly be watching out for trees instead of hitting them.

Not to mention the famous tree at the Karrussel.

Arghhh, Nurburgring IS a location(a real one) with 3 variations(track layouts), which happens to be in Germany! What is so hard to understand about that??

Whatever, I still throughly believe that 20 locations means 20 Countries and 70 courses means 70 tracks. Until its fully debunked otherwise, thats my belief because somehow having only 20 tracks on a racing game after a previous installment featuring more then 60 just does not sound at all right to me, especially with the huge jump in hardware.

We have one official statement about this, with Daytona as example, Daytona=1 location, road & speedway=2 variations, as long as no one proves that this is false, please assume that it's like that.

Wishful thinking.

And the same stands for Nurburgring.

I saw that wasn't as noticeable as it should be, it's even mentioned in official ring pace notes ". . . aim for the tallest tree you can see . . ."

I don't really care about the trees too much though, as long as everything is generally getting better with each new evolution of the game/demo/build thats all that matters ;)

Yeah, thats why it doesnt matter if its 2D trees. :sly:

The extra detail PD have put in to the ring is just amazing IMO, I want to play it in HD so bad!

Just assume there will only be 20 tracks. When it turns out there are more it can be a happy surprise. :)

The Menu screen of the demo. Two options are disabled, Drift Trial and 2player Battle

EDIT: Here´s the full video (don´t know if it was posted already?) No damage and still no skid marks and reverse lights IMAO :D

It is a little weird though if you go by what's in the game.

Daytona - 2
Nurburgring - 3
Fuji - 2
High Speed Ring - 2
Eiger - 2
London - 2
Suzuka - 2
La Sarthe - 2 (I think?)
Tokyo Route 246 - 2
Special Stage R5 - 2

That right there is 10 tracks with 21 variations. That means that out of the remaining 10 tracks, they somehow need to get 49 track variations out of them? That's basically 10 more tracks with 5 variations each, it makes no sense.

I think there are 3 variations, possibly more if you count reverse, at Suzuka

In GT history, reverse tracks don't count as variations.
Daytona - 2
Nurburgring - 3
Fuji - 2 (maybe 4)
High Speed Ring - 1
Eiger - 1
London - 2 (long and short)
Suzuka - 3 (east, west, GP
La Sarthe - 2
Tokyo Route 246 - 1
Special Stage R5 - 1
Madrid - 1
Indianapolis - 2

...too lazy to continue the list.
I could imagine the original tracks (Trial Mountain, Grand Valley, the above mentioned HSR) count as 1 location, but to be honest, it's useless to discuss this until we have further infos, but just for comparison, GT4 had 50 tracks (plus the Gymkhana, including the drag strip) including all variations except reverse. So "70 variations" would still mean 20 more tracks than GT4.

Weren't there rumours of an extended London and an extended Eiger? That would add four more variations right there. I can think of at least one more Daytona variation. What about tracks that have an external rally stage? Doesn't Silverstone have one of those? There is at least one section of track on Suzuka that doesn't get used. The average number of variations per track will most certainly be more than 2. 3.5 sounds a little high. 70 HD tracks sound like a lot. Might as well not worry about it since we probably won't know until the game comes out.

Edit: doesn't the PSP version have 70 variations? Don't they consider reverse as a variation on PSP?
