Common sense is completely gone.

This has been discussed so many times. GT5 is having more cars than ever. And it's also going to have the most tracks ever.

lol @ even the notion of thinking 20 tracks. KY already said 70 layouts.

Again, common sense will make a comeback and it begins with this post!

I say we shut down the forums until E3 then we can discuss all the 100% confirmed info lol.

And just for future reference 01GTP its a L not an i at the end of my name:sly:

You're not making sense, just promoting your own fears and wishful thinking.👎
The fact that this has been discussed doesn't magically make your opinion common sense and proves others wrong.
Your points about the amount of cars and the fact that GT5 will feature more tracks than previous GTs are irrelevant.
As a most recent example, Nurburgring is listed as a location, so now(if you hadn't before) you have a clear idea of what location means, also there are 3(known so far) track layouts or variations featured on this location.
It is presented in no unclear terms, yet you still argue about semantics?
If you feel better by calling a track layout an individual track, you can do so, and yes, then there will be 70 tracks:dunce:, but then, you know, words have their meanings and I don't remember anyone putting you in charge of changing those, so I'll rather stick to their original meanings(despite authoritative bold look of your entire post) to avoid any more confusion, thank you very much.;)

Personally, I think "location" can mostly be substituted for "country". However, they may do "eastern u.s." and "western u.s.", etc. Also, they may consider PD's created tracks as one "location".

So, Germany is a "location" and it will have 3 tracks and all of the variants of those tracks. Those tracks being Nordschleife, Nurburgring GP, and Hockenheimring.

Plus, if I remember correctly, Amar had posted that the number would be closer to 90. But, I guess we will see.

i Hope so! In one of the new videos you can see it say Germany real circuit.

If I am thinking wishfully, then you are thinking skeptically. There's no real problem in doing that, but it's a cowardly move. It's a defense mechanism. But this isn't psychology; let us move on!

Looks like common sense isn't making a comeback.

Your points about the amount of cars and the fact that GT5 will feature more tracks than previous GTs are irrelevant.

Error found. GT5 will have more cars than GT4. So to believe it will have more tracks is not absurd. No, not even close.

I won't argue this. It seems fair enough. The Ring= A location, and it has 3 variations/tracks. Got it!

It is presented in no unclear terms, yet you still argue about semantics?

Semantics run our world. And this forum too. But as you realize, we're dealing with a man who speaks Japanese. Semantics are always going to play a part in the translations. Surely you know this (assuming English is not your native language.)

70 tracks, man. 70 tracks.

location can't be countries, then every country would have one only track... are you for real?

"Looks like common sense isn't making a comeback."

Nope...

:)

[LOL]Do you honestly expect 70 countries?

Common sense is definitely not making a comeback.[/LOL]

:)

I'm not here to bash you. And whether or not location is a country or a mere track (and its variations), it's still 70.

Just wanted to make a joke about your argument. I think it worked. :)

I know. No hard feelings. We all love a little laughter:)

Still, it's going to be quite interesting to see which tracks have left the series (and to see who's entering the series).

Ah, time will tell, as it always does!

Yup, big miracle, but I don't think PD will disappoint with the tracks in the game. 👍

:)

Why cant location be a Country EX Location USA, track Mazda Laguna Seca, variation 1, Location Japan track Suzuka variation 3. I'm not saying this is true but it could be the fact. what ever it is i still will be happy 👍

Just for my own clarification, in your guys terms how many locations were there in GT4? Would I be right in counting 37?

I was just trying the summarise the argument SrRd had with speedfreak in a funny way... as they almost say the same thing, but still not agree with each other... :)

I have no clue how many tracks will be in GT5, but I would guess about 70 ( including variations) since that's all we heard... also example USA, Japan, those countries will have more than one track.. Laguna, Daytona.... Suzuka, Fuji, etc.

I dont want you to think im coming at you in a bad way im not like that 👍 I also dont get what your trying to say with the countries having more than one track what does this mean. I know countries will have more than one track EX location USA track Infineon Raceway variations 2. I dont know bro with me i see it like it is. Location, track, variation, L= USA, T=Daytona, V=Tri Oval, Road Course. like i said what ever happens i will be happy.

Ok, no problem. :)

For Example

USA:
Laguna, one track;
Daytona, one track;
that's two already. Now Daytona has (at least) one variation
that's three "tracks"
So one country can have more than one track.

Agreed?

EDIT/PS: Why you ask, if you already know what it means? :lol:

Or more like... And this is just a thought, For Example, japan 1 country, tokyo one location in japan.RS46 2 layouts.

Japan=tokyo RS46 2,fuji,3 suzuka, 3 motegi,3 tsukuba 1 that's already 12 lay outs.
Korea= Seoul central 2.
China=Hongkong 2.
USA= neyork 2, laguna seca 1, infenion 2 daytona 2, Indianapolis 2, Seattle 2, thats 11
Europe= paris 4, London 4 short and long reverse, eiger 4(short and long Duns fold(top gear test track, 1-2)
reverse,nurburgring 3 GP,24hour, full) la sarthe 2, 15. Rome 2. thats 21
Spain= Madrid 2, thats 2

48 layouts already.
20 locations.
6 countries.
I am basing my info of what his has been seen so far, and current known GT5 info.
Not saying GT5 will have Seoul Seattle or Hong kong,new york, Paris And So On, but just as a reference.
Of how i think they are trying to break it down.

I think because they said 20 location and 70 variation we automatically call location tracks. Location is location track is track and variation is variation IMO. So like you said USA is the location Laguna is a track with one variation. USA is location Daytona is a track with 2 variation

So with that info above ^^ this is what we would have

One location: USA
2 Tracks: Laguna, Daytona
3 Variations: Mazda Laguna, Daytona oval, Daytona Road Course

I think this makes sense, except the Location=Country column:

gttracksvar.png

This is it, more or less.
The "locations" in grey were spotted, along with their respective temperatures/weather, in GT5p's main menu. Why did PD choose to display them? Because these are real and have popular tracks? Coincidence? To me it's a clue.
How could the historical GT tracks like Trial Mountain not make their appearence in GT5? It wouldn't make sense. I'm not saying ALL of them should be in, at least the most important.
And why would PD consider Trial Mountain or High Speed Ring as "locations"? Are they real? Not at all. To me locations are, for example, Nurburgring (real location with real track) AND Rome (real location with fictive track).

By the way the rally/dirt tracks, except Tuscany, and more ovals for stock cars are still missing.

Sorry if this belongs to the Track list thread.

20 countries?

1. E. USA
2. W. USA
3. Canada
4. U.K.
5. France
6. Belgium
7. Germany
8. Italy
9. Monaco
10. Spain
11. Portugal
12. Australia
13. S. Korea
14. Japan
15. China
16. Brazil
17. PD's Universe

Thats just the locations listed on the weather report in GT5P, plus Canada, S. Korea, Australia, and Brazil. And I assume they will put the fantasy tracks in its own category.

So it's definitely possible and I would say, probable.

But I would prefer the interpretation that Famine had. The 20 locations are real circuits and the 70 number refers to the number of non-real circuits.

:lol: i was just answering his question he said 20 locations and i said yes country is location. Like i said before this is just my way i see it what ever happens i will be happy. 👍
