Again if we refer back to Amar's thread a while back, one of the points was 'Birdtamers will have the option to pay a greater sacrifice to get future content without future sacrifice' Or something along those lines. Which means the LM edition pre-pays for future DLC*.

*It was my interpretation of that point, and may not be correct. PD/Sony's plans may have changed since then.

To me that sounds like he's talking about gt5p or gtpsp, that's assuming the thread came before either of those games came out. Buy either of the two and then transfer your winnings and cars over to gt5.

Sacrifice=5 years development=wait=what we are doing.

For the first time in a long time, I don't mind waiting. Had to send my PS3 back to Sony today because it won't read any discs I insert. I just bought GTA4 too so that should keep me busy when it's returned to me.

Its probably just the laser. If that happens you can replace it yourself for 40-50 bucks. So, I hope you didn't pay too much. :sly:

Well if you go to the birdtamer thread you will see it is worded differently. I would link but I really cba :dopey:

But everyone is entitled to interpret it differently. Amar knows the true meaning :p

Fixed for shoop da whoop:D

I doesn't seem like yesterday when I was sunk by the March release back in September and now its been 7 months since that, oh time flies

Well, I was counting Days 'till Japanese release in March, and we're in May and we've got Nothing :guilty:

This is probably abit on the late side but I knew I saw those sparks before and now I can confirm that both smoke from the tyres and those sparks are actually present in GTPSP and I remmember Kaz mentioining that the gameplay of GTPSP will be insome ways simillar to GT5 so maybe that is what he ment .
Any thoughts?

The gameplay of gtpsp is to easy and poor that mean so crapy!!!and it was the only fault of that game and maybe the only cause of his failure....I hope that PD dos'nt make the same error and gives us a gameplay like gt4,gtmode for me was perfect!!

Well by gameplay I meant the ingame race gameplay (sparks for example). So I just wanted to say that some aspects of GTPSP will be in GT5 ,as for the GTmode It was confirmed that it will be in GT5 👍.Oh and the sparks @the ring demos are alot visible than GTPSP's.

My personal experience of GTPSP is that its pitch perfect for the format... I can just about play a few laps of any given track, especially N'ring. The PSP gives me aches and cramps on my elbows and wrists. This is also probably due to the precise nature of the controls which require minute adjustments. Not to mention that i would end up crouched and huddled close to the screen depending on how immersed i was. A full GT4 like GT campaign would seem like a nightmare to me and I probably wouldnt even be able to achieve 30% of its campaign if it was available. GTPSP even as it stands seems adequate enough for me, and provides more than enough challenge. Bite sized GT arcade mode

Any1 know why GTplanet isnt being updated ?? Sony have made a statement recently and i expected there to be news on here but there wasnt :S

Prepare to be disappointed, frankly ( not personal ofcourse ) hope you will be disappointed if you're basically wishing GT mode will be reduced in size compared to GT4, if that's what you meant.
Hope it will be at least similar ( or only slightly reduced, added by online ) or even bigger than GT4.:)

No on the contrary, what i meant was that a campaign mode the size of GT4 on the PSP was not needed in my opinion.

But an all life consuming campaign mode for the PS3 i wholeheartedly welcome.

In summary for what the PSP version offers it does well to GT standards and is perfect for on the go gaming

I think he's talking about GTPSP tho?

On this note GT Mode was all nice and good in GT games, but I spent my most time in Arcade mode for time trialing mainly and I find it weird most members here seem to think it had other physics just because of the name, I guess. Well it didn't and I don't understand what's so cool about GT Mode, once I finished the races (except stupidly monotone 24hours Le Sarth :dunce:), had all cars (that I knew of) I was done with that rather uninteresting part of the game.

What were you expecting on PSP? It's a portable gaming format where rapid progress and short sessions are the order of the day. I've only sampled it and what I played was pretty much what I expected.

They are always updating it. If you know of a statement that Sony made why don't you share it and supply the link or source that way you could help everybody else out.

My apology for misunderstanding the point you were trying to make, glad that welcoming an all life consuming campaign mode is a shared viewpoint. :)

The western releases of GT1, im not too sure about GT2 through to GT4, were speeded up in arcade mode

I think it was according to an interview or an Edge article, it was to have exaggerated speed. This was to appeal to western audiences, exaggerated jumps was also a requested update for the American market though this never made it in.

Again I welcome an all consuming GT mode if its apart of the PS3 version, it wouldnt be GT without it

Actually, there were jumps in the NTSC version of GT1 (maybe even GT2). I always found it a bit annoying, really. I always wondered why they were in a game marketed as a simulation.

;)

That was a similar conclusion to the Edge article as well, highlighting the differences in market. Also highlighting how different and focused GT and its creator was. As a piece of software, it was completely different to every other racing videogame available on console.

At the time i think its closest competitor in my library anyway was Ridge racer R4. Trying to complete GT after finishing R4 required a totally different mindset.

Any1 know why GTplanet isnt being updated ?? Sony have made a statement recently and i expected there to be news on here but there wasnt :S
A few reasons:

  1. The news blog is run by a real, live, warm-blooded individual who eats, sleeps, likes weekends, and has other obligations.
  2. The "statement" you're referring (I'm assuming it's this one) has been talked up in the general press, but I'm not sure how newsworthy it really is.

At this point GT5 being in some form at E3 is basically 99.99% confirmed (which there is a news post on). What is actually said and show is completely unknown (any speculation is not news).

What an announcement? Did I miss something? On an german board I read that day-night cycle on many tracks is confirmed?

The "Laser"

I don't get it. I guess you're not familiar with this?

You expected news that has already been long published and repeatidly posted to appear here? Its not really news worthy since there is nothing new we don't already know from it.

...no GT5 is confirmed for E3. There is not a .01% chance GT5 won't be at E3
